We get these questions all the time, I guess this is to illustrate how hard it is to guess the weight by a picture. I happen to know how much both of these weigh, so guess away, shoot whoever guesses the weight, I'll send u a Cavitron. BTW my shoe size is 12 EEEE
I would say the big one looks 7ish.

Which one? The one I'm holding? BTW if it helps I'm 6'2" and about 230lbs. The one on the ground is lying beside a Diawa Procyon, I know the picture sux.
I'm saying the one you are holding is 7lb 2oz
Really tough to tell just by pictures though. Awesome fish regardless of weight!
EDIT: If FELIX wins I'm driving to intercept his Cavitron in the mail.
The one you're holding I would say 8.5. Both are nice fish though.
I'm gonna revise this a little, the first one to guess the weight of the one I'm holding, I'll send you a Cavitron. The other picture just doesn't have enough quality to use it, but if ya guess it I'll add a Bandit square bill. I will post the weights and notify the winner, lets say by Monday, November 18th.
7lb 3oz ... ??? I feel like I am on The Price is Right. LOL
I am going with 7lbs 5oz
I am going with under 7...fish in the pic you holding right at 6 pounds 10 ounces
The one on the ground I would put at 4 pounds 2 ounces
Nice fish by the way and thank you for the cool contest.
4-6 on the ground, and 6-15 in hand...
6lb9oz holding
4lb12oz on the ground

No need to fix them if my guesses are correct.
7lb 1oz for the one you're holding…4LB 14oz for the one on the ground
7.2 in the hand, on the ground 4.3
4.3oz holding
I will guess 7lb 9oz for the one you are holding in your hand and 4lbs 11oz for the one on the ground.
The one in your hand is 8lbs 4oz and the one on the ground is 5lbs 7oz
PM me for my address lol
8lb 1oz hand, 5lb 3oz on ground. Random guess.
6.5 in the hand. 3.12 on the ground.
5 lb 4 oz in your hand, 3 lb 2 oz on the ground. I think people are waaaay overshooting this.
Holding: 7lb 15oz
Ground: 5lb 3oz
I see allot of guess in the 7lb range for the one in my hand, go look at AJay pictures from Baccarac, and allot of under 4lbs for the one on the ground. Both are waaaaayyyyyyy off.
Ok fellas, since its Sunday I decided to offer some help. Most ppl are way off, no one has come within 2lbs of the one on the ground, so that fish is the biggest. The one in my hand most guesses are way off there too. I know this isn't scientific but it goes a long way to showing how picture angles and such make us think a fish is much bigger or smaller depending on the angle. I will post the weights tomorrow morning and notify the winner, come on guys win the baits.
I think maybe my guesses are backwards...3.5 in your hand and 5.2 on the ground...
Nice Bass Boats ~
I'm going with
4-6 in your hand & 5-4 on the ground.
A-Jay
can we change our guesses after you gave us that clue?

Absolutely
Alright, for the one in your hand, 4 pounds 12 ounces. For the one on the ground, 5 pounds 9 ounces.
Not only can u change your guesses, but I'll count both! But you are limited to two guesses
4lb 7 oz in hand and 6lb even for ground
Jeff
Hand is 4lbs 4oz one on the found is 5lbs 3oz
4.8 in hand
6.1 on ground
6lb 4 oz for the one being lipped. 4lb 6oz for the one next to the rod. Come on cavitron!!! I've actually never used one!
Why Not....Ya gotta be happy to show those two.
First 8# 12oz
Ground 4# 12oz
Thank you for opportunity
4lb 9oz Hand
5lb 10oz Ground
5-6 in hand, 6-10 on ground
Hand- 5lb 14oz
Ground- 7lb even
Since everyone is taking a second guess..
Hand- 5lb 8oz
Ground- 6lb 13oz
Goodnight! I didn't realize that the winners and the actual weights were lost during outage. VolFan was the winner, the one I'm holding was 5lb 4oz, the one on the ground was 7lb 6 oz, NEjitterbugger's guess was closest for the fish on the ground when contest ended. Again congrats to VolFan.
This was to show how deceiving pictures can be. Although hard to see I'm doing a little stretch with the one I'm holding. The one on the ground is a terrible angle and lighting. You see the side of my foot more than the top. That fish was almost 24" long.

I would disagree with how this shows how deceiving the regular bass picture is. The floor pictures are horrendous. Everyone looked at the size of your shoe which was at least 12 inches and there is no humanly possible way that the fish is double the shoe size hence the lower weights which is why it is still hard to believe it was 24 inches. Perhaps your size 12 shoe is 16 inches long??? Who knows. Additionally, bass next to rod pictures on the grass are nearly impossible to predict and are criminal to use to show off sizes of big bass. The main illusion was the first picture. From this angle it looks fat, but a side shot would have greatly supplemented it. I have noticed on this site that people (especially experienced anglers) can be pretty dang close on fish weights, which makes your pictures in particular much different from the norm. I think the real culprit in all of this was the horrendous photos of the supposedly big fish on the ground.

Wow, feeling a little grumpy today??? The purpose was to illustrate the difficulty in telling weight by pictures. The picture of the bass lipped was a good angle, good lighting with a little stretch not much, but I have 35" arms. That bass was just shy of 20 inches in length and weighed 5lb 4oz, there were 19 guesses until I gave the hints only one guess was close, right on in fact, the rest were not even within a pound, most were off by over a pound and half! That particular picture is illustrative of most pictures of fish, a little stretch not much, good angle and good light.
The one on the ground was thrown out because of the poor quality, but I left the pic in case anyone wanted to guess. I couldn't substitute another picture because I don't have any other pictures with the fish on the ground. I only took that picture because it was at that time my pb. In any case, fyi a size 12 EEEE shoe will measure over 14 inches in length and over 5 in width, depending on type, the shoe ends before the tail and near the gill plate, but the picture is horrible and not a good representative, that is why I threw it out of the contest. Weighed on the same scale as the one I am lipping at 7 pounds 6 oz. The angle on that picture is awful as stated before and during the contest, you see the side of my shoe not the top, you can't see the fish's gut at all, not much to go on.
The reason I did this was to illustrate the difficulty in figuring weight by pictures, I would not classify everyone who guessed as inexperienced, even a couple of the most experienced anglers who guessed were way off. That five pound fish just looks bigger than it is, imo the picture is a good example of the pictures we see when asked to guess, it has a good angle and good light, it was prespawn and she was healthy. There is a reason that we use scales to weigh fish, looks can be deceiving, I've seen ppl state here that they didn't realize how large a four pound fish was until they bought a scale!

Wow, feeling a little grumpy today???
I'm grumpy everyday.......hehe.
I just don't see the point in weight guessing, if one really cares about the actually size and weight, just measure and weigh it and post the results. I don't weigh or measure them, I seldom have a camera with me anymore, even 30" or 30# fish have been posted by me before, no reason in doing it again. Yeh I'm grumpy, don't even look at many photos any more, making a fish look twice it's size is deception not reality.
Just because people disagree with you does not make them grumpy. I full heartedly agree that fish should always be weighed and that i am at the forefront at being a bass officer when i see a picture of a bass with some indecent weight exposure. My point was there have been many guessing posts where people know the weight and ask others to guess the weight and the more experienced anglers can get pretty close. Hence, your post of the first picture was more of an anomaly on this site for the guessing game since no one was even close, including myself. But like i said, the 7 pounder picture was criminal. A 7 should never receive such a photo.
