i see these guys here with their first bass being 9 pounds
well i have caught 66 bass this year.
(nothing compared to Steve P and George Welcome)
but, it does make all the frozen boys up north mad:)
caught her in 15 feet of water in the st johns river on a japanese lure that looks like a tiger
oh she went 6.3
water temp-warm:)
thats a 26 inch golden rule in front of her
Nice fish!
Hahaha wow I'm slow today. Looking at that picture I thought it was MOUNTED. I was just thinking to myself..."Wow this guy lives in FL and mounted a 6.3 lb fish?? Don't get me wrong, that fish is HUGE and beautiful I'm just sayin.
AWESOME FISH!
*****
Its a fact that you guys have better fishing weather year round.
I don't ice fish any more and even if I did the weather in CT has made it hard for any one to fish.
Though I understand you guys fre!!ing have open water and are catching nice size bass heck bass in general and most of us are not...
Nice fish
Look out, there are some STARVING Northern Bass anglers
the fish does look mounted
its on the carpet
and its like flexing in that mounted bass stance
its laying on the golden ruler.

That's what I thought at first too. Nice Fish! 8-)
That's a nice chunky looking fish. Congrats.
Quoteoh she went 6.3water temp-warm:)

That's kind of funny because when I zoom in on the pic, the ruler says 15" unless I'm going blind.
Nice fish though.

I've never heard of a 15" fish weighing 6.3 lbs.
Looks like 14" and 15" to me.
And going by this photo from Gator Grip's website:
The 25" Golden Rule is graduated in 1/4" increments. The Golden Rule pictured is graduated in 1" increments.
http://www.gatorgrip.com/golden-rule-measuring-boards2.html
It's a nice little toad, but there's no way it is 24" and no way it's 6.3 lbs.
well i would like to thank all of you for shooting my dreams down.
just to satisfy you i will take a picture of this golden ruler.
its 25 inches long
so maybe the fish was 21 inches or what not.
i could have closed her mouth and stretched her out some:)
as for 6.3
thank rapala for their high quality scale.
thanks again everyone for shooting me down.
Well, using the inch increments on the ruler to draw a rough guess of how long the ruler is, I come up with exactly 25 inches. Now what? Nice fish is what!

Wow, more investigation there than a csi episode. Whats next, forensic shots. Just kidding, I do agree it appears to be a 15 inch ruler.
well this for everyone.
making me stay up late taking pics of the ruler
hahahaha
well the green tape measure is a 15 inch fish. black/green part
and this is a zoom in of the end of the ruler
if this isnt good enough i dont care.
if you think im still lying
jump off a bridge:)
good luck weekend warriors
i meant to say that yellow tape is 15 inches long. so nobody try and tell me i used the green/black tape to help it reach 15 inches.
the ruler is 22.5 inches.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are!!
You could have just held the fish, or put it next to a rod or something, who really cares fishermen are supposed to exagerate a little, Right?
Well I apologize and retract my previous statements.
you are correct.
i apologize for saying it was 26.
i thought it was.
why would they make a 22inch ruler?
anyways 6.3 of 4.5 its my biggest bass this year and if i wasnt proud of it i wouldnt post a picture about it.
Burley,
You def. need a job/life, buddy. How long did that little investigation take you, Sherlock?
The guy caught a nice fish, he posted a picture for all to browse at...no need for verification of the measurements.
NICE FISH OP!
Nice fish no matter what!
But someone help me out here please. :-X
In europe we use centimeters and I'm a bit confused. The last number I can see on that ruler is a 15. 15 what? inches or what?
If I am going to sit front row to a ticking match, I'll need to put on some XPS rain gear................ Nice fish there, I hope to catch a 6 pounder soon. Don't feel bad that people try to shoot you down even with a picture. :-/ I don't carry a camera and I'm constantly getting someone trying to tell me I'm lying. Never to my face and there are 2 reasons why. If they are with me, I'll prove them wrong and 2nd. I serve a mean Knuckle sandwich..........
Wow ILFisherman, take it easy. First off I'm the one who started this little mess. I knew something was up because I know there are no 26" Gator rulers so I looked into it. Then asked for someone's opinion.
So I guess I'm the one with no life. :
I apoligize for ever doubting your catch Yahoo.
Mike Jr.
Nice fish
Whatever...nice fish man. At least you're catching. Me? I'm shovelling snow!
The fish is definetly 14' we can tell that from the ruler. That fish is soo chunky though, what do you guys estimate a 14' fish that is that fat weigh?? Very nice catch either way.
P.S next time leave the ruler out of the photo
wow i dont want to get kicked off of the forum so i am going to keep it cool.
the fish is not 14 inches
wow
its a 22.5 ruler
size and weight aside..NICE FISH.
Judge not, that you be not judged
Great fish buddy! Keep on casting, you are living in the land of HAWGS!
last time.
since everyone thinks my ruler is 15 inches.
here is a fish from the summer.
same ruler.
different fish.
it is also laying next to a 6 inch trick worm
im not sure how big this fish was but this is another ruler shot.
I do not know where your coming from JHAWK it was discussed before that the ruler is not a 15in ruler and the fish is much bigger than 14 in. It was proven by other members and accepted. I dont know what you hope to achieve by saying that. anyways.......
Keep on slaying um' yahoo, nice work
Well said Pigsticker
nice chunk
Congrats on this years PB yahoo!
thanks flippin nice to hear from a virginia boy ;D
THAT FISH IS 14 INCHES!!!
Just kidding
Nice fish there, and if after reading Bob Kavanaugh's post you still doubt the length, put your glasses on and stop drinking.

Exactly. Here is the pic again for those who finally sobered up...
Quotei meant to say that yellow tape is 15 inches long. so nobody try and tell me i used the green/black tape to help it reach 15 inches.the ruler is 22.5 inches.
Im confused so is the ruler 22.5 inches or 25 inches like Bob kav pointed out? And why does the end of the ruler read 15?

Who knows. There are pictures of a 22" ruler that by math should be 25" but was said to be 26" but in other pics the numbers look like 14 and 15 inches. Instead of the "Magic Bullet" we now have the "Magic Ruler".
yahoo don't sweat the haters. chalk it up to cabin fever. those guys are just ticked that you are fishing and they are on lock down because of their crappy weather. now grab your flipflops and go catch another one.
I think it is clear that ruler is over 20+ inches....forgot exactly how big it is but its over 20.
Nice Fish!
Haha pretty interesting investigation! ;D Excelent fish YaHoo keep it up
