Common answers for bass are going to be either 5 pounds, 8 pounds, or 10 pounds. Nothing in between. Pick one and then say that you weighed it on two separate scales and then your story will fit right in. Or, look up the state record, go one pound underneath it, and there is your weight.

Yea it's hard to tell. He could be 6'2 or 5'6" ha-ha. It's a nice bass tho. That fish would make me feel so great.

& it doesnt have the mid section girth to match its length & mouth/head size.

If people would carry a simple soft tape measure. It would be more credible and much easier to estimate. Here's a pic of my 21in bass with 15in girth etc.

Why not bring a scale, I don't get it? I fish from a kayak, with the smallest tackle box Cabela's sells and still bring one. The fish in my avatar is 3lb6oz, selfie pic with the fish nearly touching my face. But still the camera is too close so it looks bigger. The OP's fish looks significantly larger, I'd be surprised if it wasn't a mid 4lb fish or better. But again, gotta have that scale!

Maybe 4. Long arming the fish makes it much harder to tell. At that point all we have to really go off of is the size of your fist.

It's a solid 3lbs. Maybe 3.5 but that's all you're going to get from my slightly tweaked visual scale. Holding it out to the camera is an awesome trick, especially when you aren't fat with big hands like me. All bass look small in my hands, so I just go with it. But that is a 3lb bass.
Now photoshop it, and make it 20.
edit: I also measure my bass on the highly accurate beard scale. so it's like a 32 inch bass... or maybe only 21. You lose an inch or two in translation.

South bend makes one for $8. There are even cheaper options with luggage scales.

If you are a dwarf and your little tiny arm is only 20 inches or so in length, then that fish weighs 16 lbs.
If you are of normal stature, then the fish weighs less than 2 lbs. Anything more than that would cause your arm to cramp from holding it out extended away from your body for the picture.
If you are a troll, then you have succeeded in your mission...
