fishing user avatarDiggy reply :

Went fishing, looked down and saw this, immediately started laughing. I was able to separate them and the one being swallowed swam off.....

I was able to revive the ambitious bass after a few attempts, they both almost died.

Talking about biting off more than you can chew. Nice peacock.

fishing user avatarDiggy reply :

Thanks, I was happy to get that one

fishing user avatarGlenn reply :

Wow, incredible.  Even better you were able to save them!

fishing user avatarTuckahoe Joe reply :

Wow....the one on the right looks smaller than the one he's trying to eat.  How could he even think that was a good idea?

fishing user avatarHeavyDluxe reply :

I wonder what the odds are of seeing something like that... There's a video on youtoobs of an older guy fishing from a boat and coming across two bass locked up the same way.

I would think it's a rare thing, even so.  Neat!

fishing user avatarprjavelin reply :

not so rare i guess. a guy here in pr has a couple pictures of it. they say that happens when two bass attack the same shad.

fishing user avatarBankbeater reply :

Never seen that before with bass.

fishing user avatarFelix77 reply :

Freakin' awesome! Lol

fishing user avatarJigs 4 Pigs reply :

Well... we shouldn't get the question "Do you think this bait is too big?" anymore!!

fishing user avatarDarren. reply :

That's awesome. And love the peacock bass too!!

You know what they say "when you're hungry, you gotta eat"

fishing user avatarHooked_On_Bass reply :

Pretty amazing.

Thanks for sharing.

fishing user avatarSam reply :

Have seen one bass attack another bass as I was reeling in one that I had hooked.

The second bass spit out the one I had on the line and swam away.

The one I caught was OK.

However, your pic takes the cake!

hahaha, i was thinking the same thing. Nice peacock. Catching a peacock is on my fishing bucket list. Preferably in the amazon on a big wood topwater, but realistically i feel florida is a reasonable dream. Is the fight comparable to a smallie?

fishing user avatarJigfishn10 reply :

Yikes, I've never seen that before! Thanks for posting.

BTW, that peacock is a beauty for sure!

fishing user avatarbknap reply :

That is soooo funny !! haha

fishing user avatarThe Rooster reply :

I used to try to tell a friend just getting into fishing about the different things I'd do to fool bass into hitting. He said I gave the fish too much credit for intelligence. He used to say "fish are stupid". I guess this proves it.

fishing user avatarquanjig reply :

Diggy, first of all, your avitar freaks me out! Secondly, that is very cool and nice you were able to "de-couple" the fish and get them to swim away, thirdly, your avitar freaks me out!

fishing user avatarBrian Needham reply :

wow that is some clear water...

fishing user avatartopwaterrob reply :

That is awesome....

fishing user avatar---=Martin=--- reply :

I think that answers the question of "Bass getting conditioned or not?" LOL

fishing user avatarRatherbfishing reply :

Good argument for NOT trying to give them mouth to mouth resuscitation.

fishing user avatarBassguytom reply :

That's nuckin Futs!!!!!

fishing user avatarBryce Hartzog reply :

That's Awesome. Had similar situation working on the border where a 6' indigo snake was trying to eat a 7'6" indigo and had over a foot of him in his stomach.

fishing user avatarPaul Roberts reply :

Diggy,

Are you guys in the spawn season now?

fishing user avatarjhoffman reply :

Gonna need a bigger bait. Our DCNR found a state record musky floating a couple of summers ago. 50+" it was choking on a 20" bass and died. Inside it had an 8lb carp and half a dozen gills and was still going at it.

yes sir

fishing user avatarBrick reply :

I was fishing in a small pond at a house I was watching and wasn't expecting to catch anything of size. The lady that owned the house mentioned that the guy that owned the house b4 caught and released a 10 lb bass into the pond from another body of water. Anyways, I hooked a 12 incher on a rooster tail on ultra light. I got it up to the dock when the monster came up and swallowed it. I fought him for a good 5 minutes before he spit the smaller bass out. It was insane.

fishing user avatargobig reply :

If bass got to be 100lbs jet skis would be like buzz baits.

fishing user avatarjhoffman reply :

I thought maybe this was the same? That one in the article is definitely on a boat.
