Was lucky enough to hook into this big gal throwing a 8" line thru soft trout bait. Only problem is i didn't weigh her. Curious to see what others think it weighs?
Thanks bassresource
wow, great fish!!
Big Baits catch Big fish, congrats 8-9lbs
Nice fish!!!! Congrats.
Man that's a HAWG nice catch
Given that the lower portion of the egg sack is full, the transparency of a malnourished bottom fin, and the redness of the gills, i'd say it's most likely over 2 pounds, but would definitely not say above 3.5.
LOL 3lbs
Hard to tell. At least 5 though. I think shimmy is pulling your chain.
Great fish! Time to get a scale. They never lie!
Jeff
Nice chunk man!
Sweet fish
7-8.5! HELLUVA fish man!!!
It's bigger then my 6.5oz so I'd say at least 7 but it looks bigger. Either way great job man and it's one to be proud of.
Did you measure it? What kind of swimbait is that? Sure looks like a jointed hardbait and not a line through.
I'm guessing 7.5-8, really good fish no matter what it weighs though.
Thanks guys im pretty sure the fish is around 7-8lbs too, but i hear a few guys saying it's close to a DD. An the bait was a savage gear line thru swimbait. Highly recommend it!
HAHAH OOPS!!! Dummy me didn't even realize what bait i caught her on! Been catching lots of swimbait fish an i lost track. Did indeed catch her on a BBZ 6"... But been catching alot of quality fish in the 3-6lb range with my savage gear line thru... Sorry bout that one
Heres a few that i've been catching on the savage gear

And this one was on a smaller swimbait 4"Swimbaits have really been catching quality and quantity for me this year! Lots of small and big fish have been engulfing big baits!
Ha! I was going to say I have a Savage Gear line through and it looks nothing like the bait in your first pictures! Good to know the Savage is a good bait if it ever warms up enough to fish one.
Yeah I was going to say that looks like a bbz 6 inch. Nice fish I'd say it around,7-8. Get a scale man if your throwing swimbaits or chasing hawgs I don't leave the house without one. I carry 3 of then 2 digital and 1 original scale. Along with 2 tapes. Deff make that happen so you don't have to,guess!!! Awesome fish man congrats
10
Look at that belly. Long too
I'd say 7 is a good guess.
It doesn't carry the "fat neck" that you see on DD fish. I'd love to tell you it's 10 but I just can't. Hell of a fish regardless.

Yea definitely agree on that. Just about all the bass this fishery has none of them got bucketmouths... Small heads to big bodys.. Its indeed a VERY healthy place though. With goods numbers of 3-6lbs and a soild amount of 7lb+
But the reality TC235, is you have no idea if it is over 7 pounds which is a shame. It's a great fish, definitely big, but you don't know how big. The problem with posts like this is now the fish has automatically become an "8 pounder"; thus perpetuating the problem of people stretching about weights. I, as well as plenty of others i am sure have numerous pictures of 6 pounders that look that exact size in the photo; i think because it was also on a swimbait, we want to say it is bigger than it is, but the reality is nobody here knows. What i do know, is that you are great at fishing those swimbaits out there and are consistently catching beautiful fish and you owe it to yourself to know the real weights of these fish. But...in the mean time and for the love of fishing, don't tell people it is an 8. Just don't. Don't do it...stop it.
If anyone knows the pain of catching a fish and thinking/wishing it were 8lbs, that would be me.
Ive got a couple pics that I could probably pass off as DD fish, both were mid 7's.

Floating, slow sink, or fast sink?

Slow sink.. Cranking as slow as i could without snaging. Did one directional change and BAM smoked the BBZ
That fish looks bigger than a 7.11 we recently caught and are basing the figures on the Formula of girth, length, fork of tail etc...Cameras are tricky and I have seen legit 5's look like 2's, and vice versa.
I am going to say that could be pushing 10, could be pushing 8.....length and we could figure it out pretty close. Huge Fish, Congrats. Anyone saying less than 7lbs is joking.
Great catch. I'm guessing close to 8 lbs. also. Nice healthy looking fish.
Holy slobs....WooW Nice fish .... I need some swimbaits hahaha... Seriously thought where in mass are you? I'm from mass Right outside of Boston. You dont have to tell me your spot... I know how some guys get , but general area to put a fellow BR guy on some better fish living in the city would be Hugely appreciated. Those are quality fish man ...Nice work!
Thats a great fish!
That's ......
Big Mama!!!!
