Hey all...
I got to thinking...there are many "frugal" bassers on this sight always looking for the best deal or a great deal. I thought it might be cool if we share with each other, deals we have come across in our travels. Whether it's a one time "Wow! or something we can share with each other and take advantage of as a group. Since I have joined the forum, I always passed on items or deals that I think others might be interested in, and I know most other folks do too. Here's my deal of the day..An Abu Garcia boat bag at Dick's no tag on it...the manager sold it to me for $9.00!!!! Deal or no deal!!!!
Check out the photo!!
My best deal was a NIB, Lews BB-1NG. Never used, all the goodies. I got it for $60.
It sold for substantially more on Ebay. 8-)
That's what I'm talkin 'bout Willis!!
Nice score!!!
BPS 346 piece bass kit. I got mine a while ago for $10.

Fab..
If I saw that for $10.00, I would grab it up. It's back at $29.99 now...
this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about guys...keep the deals coming!!!

Here's another one from BPS. The box alone is worth the price!!!!

Got a $15 BCS National Championship program for $10 in New Orleans before kickoff.
Got a nice $10 BCS lanyard and ticket holder for my NASCAR tickets for $5 after the game.
I (and many other BR members) got a St. Croix Avid for $96 at Reeds. That's the best fishing deal I've come across so far.
you got one heading for the wall.................
4 trion LP Baitcasters, very little use, from my friend Danny 160, thats 40 a reel and 2 I got from Duocet for 115/shipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We'll just go with 2008 deals. Two 'Croix Legend Tournament 7'ers for $116 each (normally $220) and 4 L/C Pointers for $1.99 each (Cabelas bargain bin; all new items). About 40 packs of Bush Bugs for .88 cents at Academy (normally $1.99).
My best deals ever were both found on Ebay. A NIB Shimano Stella 1000FB MSRP=$499.00 paid $275 shipped and a NIB Shimano Calcutta TE200DC MSRP= $499 paid $289 shipped. I love ebay sometimes.
Ronnie
Looks like more than 50 LBH!!!!! and...umm...a....one fell on the floor!!

That's the bag Abu was giving away as part of a promotion. And I'm not sure just what kind of bag it is. it isn't a boat bag or a tackle bag. more like and overnight bag, or a little duffle.
My best deal: Walmart in fall. Beetle spins for $1.50 per lure. I picked up a whole strip of them - about ten lures per strip. They ended up selling the whole strip for $1.50. I bought about 20 more strips. I have enough beetle spins to last a life time.
6 nib quantum pt spinners at a walls discount...box, papers, everything still inside.
$149.00 each in bps...$19.99 each at walls...left that store quicker than a preacher with the runs...gave one to the son-in-law for christmas and sold the other 5.
nib lew's ng at walmart for another $19.99.........kept it. 8-)
I still think it's worth $9.00!!

Last year at Walmart, when they were clearing everything out, I picked up an Abu Garcia Record Baitcaster ($149.95 @ BPS) for $50. At the time, Pure Fishing had the $10 rebate and I got that too.
A $150 reel for $40!!
Before Christmas I purchased a Quantum Energy 760 PT from The Sports Authority for $115. I've mailed in the $50 rebate quantum is offering right now. Hopefully I will be receiving the check in the mail soon.
A $190 reel for $65!!
QuoteI still think it's worth $9.00!!ajr
I got mine for $6.95. And they threw in a Revo to go with it. ;D
My best deal was at a fishing flea market, got a pack of real Gycb senkos, like one of them was used, the rest were all fine. Got the pack for a buck.
Revo STX from baitnhook.net. $174.95. No sales tax, They're in NJ and I'm in Va. $8.98 flat rate shippping and I got it in 4 days over this past long weekend.
Shortbasser
st croix avid for 96 and tax at dicks just before christmas.Amazing
renegade spiral grip painted blade spinnerbaits at wal mart rung up 79cents retail 4.99. I went back and bought the whole strip.
-Strike King heavy duty jigs were 99 cents at BPS this past weekend. I also remember once buying tungsten weights as well as stren super knot at wal mart for like 75-90% of the normal price.
-Right now is also the perfect time to buy last year's gear such as rods that go for like 50% off the original value.
Just for fun...best deals of all time for me are:
$1.38 on ALL bandits at Academy (About 2.5 years ago; misprint in the Ad...they honored it)...I purchased probably 150 or so.
Pline CXX Clear 1/4lb spools for $1.44 a spool at Academy. All line sizes...they clearanced out the clear, and had the 1/4lb spools for $2.88. All clearance items that weekend were 1/2 off. Again, I cleaned them out of 30+ spools.
I have several other deals that come to mind on reels and baits, but I sold them to members and that wouldn't be Kosher.
Tru-Tungsten Jigs @ Cabelas for .96 cents (I think...under a buck). Black and purple only...bought a bunch.
Kistler LTA casting 25% off brand new local fishing store
two Curados for $25 when Wal Mart let them go, one for $55 and one for $65
Legend Tournament casting 1/2 off Gander MT.
Two Arris rods casting brand new $55 each Cabalas
Cloth rod bag, carries 8 rood/reels for $5 Gander MT. $39 reg price.
Revo Premier $199 Bait N Hook
Tons of plastics, lures, line for big discounts
I'm always stopping and looking for deals.
About a dozen Zoom WEC Cranks for $5 each at the BPS Outlet
H&T Balsas for $5 each, also at the outlet.
Also, sort of a good little deal........I like to take my crankbait boxes out of the boat every time I'm done fishing (so they aren't exposed to extreme temps). So instead of trying to carry them all in and out of the boat all the time, I bought this bag from BPS to hold them.
It's actually a 48-can insulated soft cooler ;D - - but I found that it perfectly holds five Plano 3700's (six if you want to lay one horizontally on top) and even some utility boxes along the side. Pretty nifty tackle bag for only $13.00.
I've even left it out in on the boat deck during some pretty good rains and it managed to keep everything inside perfectly dry (well....it is a cooler....)
I've got some pretty good deals on all my big ticket items, but the best one still remains the now $230 MSRP Loomis IMX casting rod for $87. 8-) Although, the now $285 MSRP MBR785 rod I got for $150 was a pretty good deal. Then again, the now $230 MSRP IMX SJR721 rod I got for $120 is nothing to be ashamed of either. Well, come to think of it, the now $365 BSR803 GLX rod I got for $222 was a decent deal too.
Quoteyou got one heading for the wall.................

NICE BAG PARTNER! I may try that idea. Thanks for sharing that.
I just bought an Avid AVS69MLXF at BassPro for $119. It's one of the new ones too! The only thing I can figure is that it must have come in while the older ones were on mark down and got marked down as well.
I am glad to see people finding great deals.
Shimano compre new from Sportsman's: $55, normally $89.
Shimano Crucial from a local shop: $59, normally $129.
Rapala DT 6s from Target @ $1.49 each. I just about bought the whole darn lot.
Always a good deal that is normally priced and not a sale, a local shop sells 300 yds of the Real Power pro for $19.95 and 200 yds of SeaGuar Invizx for $12.97
I was lucky enough to get in on the Cabelas Revo SC deal last year. I got two of them for 79.99 then add on the $10 rebate for each and that was one of the best deals of the year.
Every once and a while I find a item on BPS online that is priced wrong. A couple of years ago I found the Clear one of these listed for .99. They were supposed to be listed for $9.95. I picked up 12 of them and they have been one of my best produceing cranks.
Oh and then there's my boat. It is a 2004 Aluminum Triton 186 Sport. The guy I bought it from got a guy who bought it brand new and parked it. He and his son only used it five or six times total. I picked it up for 10,200 and the 90hp Merc only had 8 hours on it.
The best deals that I have gotten are:
St. Croix Legend Elite from Reed's (wasn't supposed to be on sale but was) originally $310 bought for $198.
Another Legend Elite (green blank) on closeout for $150 from $300!
Shimano Calais 100A: excellent condition. Originally $389.99 bought for $150 even.
Shimano Calcutta TE-100GT: NEW for $199.99 discounted from $329.99.
Falcon Expert Rod: Originally $169.99 bought for $99.99.
Lastly the best deal of all: Shimano Calais CL-200: ordered over the phone from an out of state Gander Mountain store...they took my address but the girl forgot to get my credit card...the reel showed up FOR FREE a few days later. I didn't have the heart to keep it so I called back up and they gave it to me for HALF of retail price! See, it pays to be honest sometimes...now go ahead and tell me I'm nuts but hey I believe in good karma!
BPS Crankin' Stick in the clearance section online. 26.50. A week later they raised the price to about 35. It retails normally for fifty, so, as a cranker, i'll def take the deal.

Close to the same thing happened to me with my GLX rod. A store, sent me the GLX instead of the Mossyback. Instead of paying for all the shipping charges to exchange it, I got it for $50 more than the discounted Mossyback price. I have no idea if they would have even caught it if I had not called them. I wanted to make it right though. There just may be something to that Karma thingy. Since that order, I have gotten some great deals at that same store and other stores too.
76 rapala shad raps @ $.69 ea.
shimano stradic 2500 $35.00
shimano curado 200b $35.00
shimano chronarch $70
terminator pro series spinnrbaits that were orig $10, 25 @ $2.50 ea.
50+ bags zoom baits @ $.69 ea.

An okeechobee fats tackle bag w/8 boxes for $39.99 from $79.99. I love this bag so much!!! You can get this bag at any Wal-Mart. I highly recommend it.
1 box of random reels cranks, and worms, free
2 tubes of rods, free
enough reels to go on said rods, free
Well it was'nt really free, My Great Grandpa was a rod and reel fixer/lure designer/fly tier/reel builder. When he died my dad inharated some of the stuff. One lure he had auctioned for like $18,000
I'm a serious bargain hound. I have been scoring some good deals lately. Just yesterday I picked up 4 Quantum Accurist reels on clearance for $44, regularly $94. I also bought two American Rodsmith titanium series rods on clearance for $29. I remember when they first hit Academy they were over 100 bucks.
A couple months ago a regional sporting goods distributor's warehouse burned. The salvage company that bought the stock started selling it at 40% off. I bought tons of offshore tackle. When they went down to 60% off I picked up several Daiwa Tierras for $45. After they went down to 80% off I was still scoring deals on Senkos, Norman hard baits, Terminator spinner baits, P-line CX Premium, and more.
Last week I picked up this brand new ProCraft 165 pro with a 90 HP Merc and trailer. It came with a MG trolling motor, a cheap Lowrance fishfinder, a 3 year warranty on the motor and a $300 gift certificate to Bass Pro Shops for just $9999.
I've scored so many deals on Ebay that I cant remember them all. Best was probably a Steez 7'1" rod, brand new, for $315 shipped. That rod retails for $500.
Don't know how much of a deal this is but here goes...
4- 600 yard rolls of Yo-Zuri Hybrid Fluorocarbon/Nylon Hybrid (.011 diameter) 3 green one smoke color. $3.00 each total $12.00. and an Abu Conolon Premier MH casting rod 6'6" for $21.00.
Wadda ya think????

Best deal of last year were those TDZs Cabela 's had for sale @ 200 bones a pop, got 4 of them.
Another good deal when I got a 2005 Pixy for $240.
And another good deal when I added a NIB Alphas Itö for $220.

No, they had two and sold them on back-to-back days.
This isn't my best deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning since some of you guys could take advantage of it.
Just got back from my local Wal-Mart. Picked up Mann's Baby 1-Minus crankbaits for $.99 each. Some were marked at $.99, $1.50, $2, and $3 so I asked the guy behind the sporting goods counter about them. He said that if he rings them up there that they will all be $.99 each. Not sure if I really need 31 shallow cranks... ;D ;D ;D ;D
FD
Best deal so far was buying a Curado 200dhsv for 159.99 online shipped to the door minus the $50 rebate = $109.99
Then I got the BPS crankin' stick for $26.50.

Got a new Revo STX from factory shipped to my door for under $130
QuoteHere's another one from BPS. The box alone is worth the price!!!!http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=51596&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
So everyone knows, that doesn't come in a box. Comes in a plastic stapled thing, nothing like a box. The worms are terrible, BUT the weights are fine.

HOW!? do tell!
I got a Daiwa D-Force spinning reel at K-mart for $2.00!! They had it in the computer wrong so they had to give me the price since it didn't have a tag on it. Hey I know its not the best reel but its a decent back up. Unfortunately that was the only one they had in the whole store.
3 Green Curados new in the box for $125.00 from Wal-Mart. A brand new Carrot Stix for $105.00 from Daves Tournement Tackle. A Charlie swim bait for $.50 cents @ The Sports Authority. 4 3,000 yard spools of Triline XL for $10.01 each @ Dicks.

45 rubbers a month free, demo worms
Castaway HG40 Jig and Worm rod for $89. $159 new.
When Shimano came out with the new Curado's Wal-Mart put the Curado 200-B (green) on clearence for $49.00. I was able to find 5 of them and sold three of them for $125.00 each. I ended up buying a Curado 200-D 7.1:1 with the profits.
I picked up a 14' Myers alum boat with trailer, trolling motor and fish finder for $350.
Last week Gander Mt. had Lucky Craft Pointer 100 (Table Rock Shad) for $9.97
Curado 100D NIB - $125
