I was lucky to have my camera rolling when this giant bass hit my frog as I was pulling it out of the water. It was a once in a lifetime type of fish that almost gave me a heart attack!
Wow!
that was bad@ss dude!! in my waters that scenario gets mr pikie...that was a very uniquely amazing situation there...sweet you got it on vid, LOVE IT!!
So cool man! That frog coming across there at that speed probably scared him as much as his strike scared you!
That was awesome! You were rippin' that frog! Great fish!
Amazing footage.
Now that's what Im talking about -had that happen many times with a buzz bait- scares the pi$$ out of ya but well worth a pair of new undies LOL
Freakin' awesome ... It surprised the hell out of me. It looked like he was reeling it in for another cast when it took it. Cool.
I'm waiting on my frog fish that big. Nice catches as usual man thanks for the vid
Awesome footage! Nice fish too!
Jeff
So awesome. You catch some freakin hogs down there. Nice video again!
And who says the big girls only strike slow moving lures! great video!
Awesome video. I had a similar thing happen when reeling my frog back in, not looking and the splash almost sent me into the canal out from fright. I can only imagine with a fish of that size. Monster.
Wow. That was AWESOME!
wow
OMG!!! That was awesome!!! Tx for the vid.
GREAT clip!
I've had some good ones but wow nothin quite like that! He choked that froggy!
WOW! That was incredible, gotta love technology these days(some of it),

You should design some Megastrike undies, with extra protection for the last second buzzbait strikes!
holy moly
If thatd been me there wouldve been 8 or 10 bleeps in the video!
Wellll then looked like she wanted frog legs for dinner!! Awsoms vid man so sick!!!

What scent would he use?
Cool video!
We've been catching pike recently that have been jumping out of the water and grabbing baits right at the boat. Scares the heck out of you.

Bang!
I would be too if I was fishing $50 per day managed lakes. On 9/24/2013 at 1:23 AM, MarkH024 said:So awesome. You catch some freakin hogs down there. Nice video again!
I'll bet she was behind your frog before you ever started reeling, it just peaked her interest when you sped up and triggered her when your bait started to get away (when it lifted off the water). Crazy how good she got it at the last minute too.
I know if I had a net laying the water that long with a fish that size I would have ended up with my line wrapped all around it and lost the fish
Wow! I wasn't expecting that. Cool video.
Awesome video !! I would of had a stroke

I'm not sure how to take that comment from my quote? Stocked ponds, lakes, rivers, bass pro shop tank.....either way it was a cool video that was captured. Not sure what the beef is here.
Holy crap, that was not at all what I was expecting to see. I can't believe you actually managed to catch it with it striking as you were lifting the frog off the water. Congrats on a nice fish and some really unique footage.
I wasn't talking about the video at. It's an awesome video. I was replying to you telling the guy making the video that he catches a ton of big bass. It's easy to catch big fish consistently when you are fishing managed lakes that cost $50 a day to fish. Russe048 fishes dreamstrike lake in AL. Look it up.On 9/24/2013 at 8:35 PM, MarkH024 said:I'm not sure how to take that comment from my quote? If you care where people fish and how they go about it, you have a lot to learn while growing up. You still have to cast the lure, set the hook, land the fish in a managed lake or not. The opportunity may be better, doesn't make the fish jump on the bait or in your boat for that matter. I could care less where he fishes, he still lands big fish and there is no need to look down on his catches.
For $50, I'd fish there. Hell yeah, sign me up.
I think it would be different if someone were to proclaim their amazing abilities and how they were better than everyone else. I dont think that was the case here.
It's a cool video and was posted as such.

Check your jealousy at the door, please.

The cool thing about this video, is we've all had those blow ups at the boat, burning our bait in after giving up, and ready to hit the next target. What's remarkable here isn't the size of the fish, or even that he caught it on video, or the hook up - it has ALL THREE!!! Big fish, blows up on a bait at the boat, and hey, the dude catches it. All on video, and pretty much catch to cast. Pretty cool. This is the type of stuff GoPro's were made for, not boring vids of dudes casting and reeling, lol. Best home grown fishing video yet since the one where a goose tried to mate with Drew Gregory's head.
Cost me $50 just in fuel to tow to and from my home water. He's getting off cheap.
I'm gonna start fishin my frog faster. Great video, Thanks
A few people mentioned it but I also thought he was pulling in for a recast. I didn't realize that was the retrieve so the very last thing I expected was the strike at the boat!
Nice catch and thanks for sharing.
Wow. Very nice!
I doubt that was his retrieve, looks like was pulling it in to make another cast and got bit.

I have to agree. I do this all the time, except don't get 9# bass to give me a mild heart attack. Now Pike...that's a different story. Always getting blown up next to the boat while I'm not paying attention.

You need to make a run up to Delavan before the water gets hard. The pike bite is still on.
Crazy ~ !
The term Buzz - Frog immediately comes to mind.
Like many have mentioned - didn't see that one coming.
Nice job.

My boat is in Wisconsin almost 2 hours further than Delevan. Not sure when I'm bringing it back home but I'm headed up to the house this weekend. Hoping for some good results since I haven't been out in forever. When I do bring it back home I plan to take it out some where in IL before the hard water.
Makes fishing look easy! Unreal!
Holy crap, not only did that fish chase it he inhaled it at that speed out of water even. Amazing striking accuracy. Awesome video great fish too
Congrats in made it on the Field and Stream website!

Wow, thats cool. I don't think that bass knows how popular she has become. I think I need to try to catch her again and tell her.
WOW !!!!!
Awesome video!
In my kayak, I've caught several trout doing this when a crank will roll on the line. Burn it back in, BAM! No 9 lbers though!
It found it's way to another site as well. You know that one about wire and fish
That was fantastic.

If you caught that 9lb bass the way she struck you may have tipped your kayak
