Did anyone else put in a pre order for the Whopper Plopper 110 this week? I saw Tackle Supply Depot is offering pre orders, not sure if anywhere else is or not. They said they'll receive them between May 26 and 31st and ship hem out the same day. Can't wait to try it out! I ordered the "I Know It" color since I've had such good luck with the 90 version of it.
The new size will be awesome!
Good to hear. I'll probably grab one to at least try. Hopefully it's just a smaller version of the 130 with none of the issues of the 90. I'd hate for it to be the other way around.
Anyone know the weight?
I suspect it will replace the 90 as the 90 gets such mixed reviews
I am happy with the 130 thank you!

I hope not, at just over 1/2oz I can throw the 90 on a ton more combos than I could a heavier one. Honestly just keeping the rod tip up and the line tight fixes any running issues I have had.

I understand, but they are starting to go on sale.....just makes you think...sales this early in the season!

Not a chance. The Whopper Plopper 90 and 130 are 2 of their top 5 selling baits and the negative reviews are from user error or using them at the wrong times.. R2S isn't going to cut a top selling bait.
I bought a couple 90 size baits to try and the only problem is any debris on the water fouls it.

No way this replaces the 90. I've had way more luck on the 90 than the 130 to be honest. This 110 will be a really nice in between option though. Keep the rod tip up with the 90 and there should be no issues.

While I agree with this, it is pretty much true of any prop bait for that matter.

The 130 definitely does a better job of it though. A single blade of grass will foul the 90, and even when it's not fouled on a fast retrieve they can be prone to rolling over and spinning with the blade.

I'd think so too. If you look at TW though they don't even have the 90 size listed anymore for the normal version (not silent). Only reason I could think they would do that is they won't be carrying them in the future and they don't have any left. If it was a simple out of stock they should have a date listed. So it seems possible. Outdoor Pro Shop has the 110 available for pre-order and has it listed at 0.4oz. That's barely any heavier than the 90 is, and seems to me more like a replacement than a true "in between" of the 130 and 90. We'll see though, I still like the 90 a lot for smallmouth and calmer days.
My plopper 90 works ok, It does need to be moving at a decent clip to start plopping, which is somewhat counterproductive for dusk and night applications. I get more strikes with it moving slowly than fast, I wish it would move slower with the same action.
i had running problems with the 90 and when i emailed River 2 Sea to complain about it, they actually CALLED me on my phone. Even THEY admitted there were issues with the 90. They also admitted there were issues with the "Double Whopper Plopper" and the wire. Ive been through 2 of the double ploppers that were pretty much destroyed by the first fish to hit it each time. It would bend the wires so bad, i could never get it to run correctly no matter how much i tried to tweek the wire back to normal.
I went and bought a few today!!!!!!

Yes, do tell.
Interesting....I thought the 110s were suppose to be 3/4 oz. But the package says 1 oz.

I got them from a shop at bluewater lake in New Mexico. They have a few cases in stock, they got them last week. It sounds freakin awesome and it had a redesigned weed resistant tail. I'm gonna fish em all afternoon and evening...super confident! Really unique tone. I think them guys put up a you tube video on the action.

Thanks for the heads up, just scooped a couple up.
Has anyone weighed one yet? I am very curious about the actual weight.

Bone and black cover most of your needs

T1000, Monkey Butt, Bone, and Sooner are my favorites. I have a T1000 and Bone 110 that should be here today.
Meanwhile, I am buying up a bunch of the 90s. Dick's has them for $10 each right now.
Fished the 110 this morning. No fish but it really seemed to plane much quicker than the 130. Pretty much as soon as I started reeling it started plopping. Seemed to me that it would plop at a slower reel rate as well. So far so good.
Do you have a scale by any chance? I would love to know the actual weight.
I went out last Sunday with a 90 and love the bait. I caught a chunky 3 lber on my 3rd cast with it. The thing I figured out with the bait was to let it settle before I started reeling and it plopped right away. If I tried reeling as soon as it hit the water, it would take a few feet before it surfaced and plopped. I also liked that I can use it like a prop bait as well; giving short, quick pulls.
Maybe I'm not meant to own a 110? Maybe I'll see them Tuesday

took the 110 out the day after it came in. Definitely, IMO, a perfect in-between of the 90 and 130. I never had any luck getting the 90 to run right, even after i let it "settle" once it hit the water, it still always nosedived, unless of course i held the rodtip at 12:00 high, and you just shouldnt have to do that, ya dont have to with any of the others. The 130 has caught me MANY fish, but it is heavy, and there is virtually no way to cast it without it making a huge splash. I can cast the 110 just as far, and it seems to retrieve even better than the 130. it doesnt roll on its side at all, doesnt make a huge splash entering the water and runs perfectly throughout the entire retrieve. I purchased the "You Know It" and "Loon" colors. 3 cast with the "You Know It" and i caught a fish (lil 2 pounder, but in our neighborhood pond, that is to be expected). Ive had 2 blowups with the "Loon", and just got impatient and missed. All in all, I'll probably use the 110 more than the 130. I'm really diggin' it.

Got mine today and actually remembered to weigh them. The T1000 was .9 oz, just shy of it's listed rating of 1oz. It rang up 26g the first time, 25g the second, so the listed weight of 25.5g is probably pretty close.

Awesome, thanks man!
Sadly that renders them more or less useless for me as that is too heavy for most of my combos. Time to start hoarding the 90s in ernest.
picked up a 110 Bone.. hopefully I have better luck than the 90, never caught a thing with that lure.

ive thrown the 90 till i was blue in the face, and never so much as even had a blow up. 130's have always worked fantastic, and then as i said above, 3rd cast using the 110, BOOM, fish on!
Started using the 130 a few summers ago after watching a friend do well with it and fell in love immediately... the blow-ups on this lure are like none other, although the jackall pompadour also gets some viscous hits.
Anyway, bought several colors of the 130. Last summer purchased a 90 to see how that was but it felt too light after being so used to the 130. Definitely looking forward to checking out the 110 for my lighter setup. Keep the reviews coming fellas
Got my 110's a couple days ago. Saw about an inch off a 130 and you've got a 110, not exactly what I was hoping for but I'm sure they'll still catch plenty of fish.

sounds like a good reason for a couple new rods to Me!
Okay so I fished my 110 for the first time today, and wow am I impressed. I had a 90 that I fished plenty of times and I never caught a single fish. The 110 was much easier to fish, I could cast my Curado70's entire spool and it actually works! I got two decent fish in an hour.
I used a 7'3" MH with FX2 and it seemed to do the trick. I never fished the 90 on braid. The hooks on the 110 are beefy though so the braid with this plopper makes a little more sense.
I had no faith in the 90, so to see this new size catch two fish in an hour pleasantly surprised me. I recommend it. The 110 is a greatly improved design.
Aside from it being a bit larger, what are the other differences that make it greatly improved?

No such thing.
Not gonna happen. I ain't getting fooled again!!!! If the 90 don't work for me, that 110 isn't gonna interest any fish in the lakes I go to. I'll stick to my frogs and save 15 bucks.

Hearing that I probably will just stick with the 130 and hold off on the 110. If I get another it will probably be the 190 at some point.

It whops and plops from start to finish without having to hold your rod tip straight up or waiting for it to settle in the water. It also has a deeper chest that allows it to stay on top of the water. Most of all, where the body meets the tail, the tail is recessed into it so it keeps debris out a lot better.
This bait fishes like I hoped the 90 would have at the time. From someone who was thoroughly disappointed previously I have no problem recommending this new design.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd cast using the 110 this morning resulted in almost 10 pounds of fish in the boat. Yea, i like this one much better. Perfect size between the 90 and the 130.

I got a 190 too but I plan on using it for musky fishing not bass. Aint no bass in the north country gonna hit that monster plopper

I do not need any help with that.
I do think I will pick up a pair of the 110s to replace the pair of 130s I have but never fish. I use 3600 boxes for my tackle and the 130 is a real space-hog, so I almost never bring them along.

Don't be so sure about that. Lots of big bass are caught on muskie baits every year, and some small ones.
Do most people favor the silent one or the one with rattles?
As of June 6 they are shipping them sometime in July from Dick's. You can buy them, but none in stock. None at our local DSG store either.

It's a straight retrieve bait so the rattles never come into play except you can hear them while fighting a fish
So I was wrong. 110 outfished the 90 badly today for smallmouth, there was a clear preference from the fish. Wasn't terribly windy, so the 90 was functioning like it was supposed to, one of them was even the same color. Only bad thing is they're too heavy for spinning gear that I use for guide trips.
Thought this was funny,45 inch 32 pound tiger. Whopper plopper 110 in blue blood. I was recording audio samples for a comparison video. Strong enough for a musky ph balanced for bass, lol

Unreal!!! Congrats!!! I would love to see that on video if you happen to have it!
The video of that fish is on YouTube right now but I don't wanna get in trouble for posting my own personal channel but it's on there lol! I caught it day before yesterday. The audio analysis video is not up yet,I'm trying to be very thorough.
FYI for all the bass guys if your concerned about the durability of this bait..don't be. I just released my 9th tiger in 2 days on the same 110. I haven't changed hooks or modified it at all, still floats, and runs true. What's funny is these won't touch the 190 right now which is my go to.just weird, lol

It's funny, that when I got my second plopper, the Musky shop on a Class A musky lake recommended the 130 at the time because for whatever reason muskies are chasing bass stuff now. Makes it easier for us, I can chase my three favorite fish with the same lures

First time using quote so forgive me if I screw it up lol. But what color 110 are your smallies liking? It seems smallies are a little more color oriented than largemouth at times. I just ordered a 110 in "I know it" color. Hoping to catch a smallie on it!

Most any of the baitfish colors work but it seems to me they prefer bone, monkey butt, and T1000 in that order.
