I was just wondering what your top 3 lipless crankbaits were? (Brand) also what color you like them in. And if it isn't to difficult what your #1 is
Hello and Welcome to BR ~
Strike King Red Eye Shad 3/4 ounce in Sexy Shad - That is all.
A-Jay
I am a big fan of the 1/2 oz Red Eye Shad in Gold/Black Back. I'll switch over to Blue/Chrome or Sexy Shad for clearer water, if necessary.

I've got that one. I just bought a koppers livetarget bluegill. Im hoping it works as well as it looks, because it looks amazing.
Hard to beat a Rat-L-Trap in chrome this time of year.
For grass the Red Eyed Shad. For riprap, shade lines, and docks the Super Spot 1/4 ounce.
The super spot is a probably a little offbeat from the norm but it is a much more subtle rattle and has a slower fall than most. Just works great on one of the lakes I fish. Sometimes its hard to keep the walleye off of it though.
Spro Aruku Shad. River2Sea Twinvibe, xcalibur
Don't know how I forgot this one. Rapala rattling rap. Cheap and straight catches fish
Xcaliber XR50-ghost
Xcaliber XRK50-Rayburn Red
Xcaliber XRK50-Gold/black back
Xcalibur's have amazing finishes and just catch em. Red eye shads are pretty solid as well
(Red eye shad)
chrome and blue
chrome and black
craw color
Xcalibur XR50's and Cotton Cordell Super Spot
Red Eye Shad in mostly sexy shad. I'll throw others but I have a RES tied on over 90% of the time I'm throwing a lipless crank

Jeff that bug-eyed bass is Obscene ~ !

Another vote for the 3/4 oz red eye sexy shad. That bait accounted for three DD's over a few days time.

You sure you guys aren't posing with the same fish?
Only kidding. Sounds like I need to start throwing a 3/4oz more often. Nice fish!
Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap!
Hot right now 1/2 oz in Toledo Gold
Guess I gotta add a camera to my tackle box, my phone camera is €¥°μ§¿

Red Eye Shad, in Bluegil and Sexy Shad, are the only ones I use anymore.
Rat-L-Trap and Strike King Red Eye.
Red Eye Shad in 1/2 and 1/4 oz sizes. Red, chrome n blue, sexy shad
Spro Aruku Shad in Wild Shiner and Gold, X-Calibur XR-50's in pearl melon or Real Gill series
1/2 ounce rat-l-trap, and a 1/2 ounce Cordell spot. That is about all I use.
Rapala Rippin Rap 1/2 chrome blue
like everybody else. RES. I also like the Yozuri rattlin vibe and Spro Aruku Shad
Mostly Red Eye Shads and mostly in 1/2 ounce. Color? Does it matter... I use Sexy Shad, Orange Belly Craw, Chartreuse Baitfish, Ghost Minnow, and other colors.
Actually, my 9.5 LMB PB was caught on a..............wait for it...............Academy H20 Express "Rattlin T" in blue over chrome. That bait is somewhat of an XCalibur XR50 clone...
live target golden shiner, live target bluegill and red eye shad green tomato in the winter and chartreuse sexy shad in warmer water
Red eyes here too.... Sexy shad, bone. That is my go to, throw it at anything lipless. The Cordell spots run a little shallower then the RES, and i will use them over grass if needed. Plus if you can Find any of the old spots, they are a "one knocker". I have turned bad days good with those!
I used the rippin rap a lot last year. The Bass pro silent version, and the rattling caught a lot of fish for me last year. I have some rattlin rapalas, and the will work once in a while too. Thats the best thing about lipless baits, they are alot of cheap ones, so you can try a bunch of them and see what works!
Good luck!
Jim
Red Eye Shad 1/2 Ounce Bluegill
Cordell Super Spot 1/4 Ounce Wounded Shad
Rat L Trap 1/4 Ounce Baby Bass Orange Belly
1. Rapala Rippin Rap
2. Spro Aruku Shad
3. Strike King Red Eye Shad
Xcalibur
Red eye shad
I have other models but don't fish lip less much
All of them!
I use lipless cranks a lot, and I probably have at least 6 different brands in my tackle box at all times. There are subtle (and not so subtle) differences in fall rate, vibration, etc. that can make a difference.
Colors? That's easier.
1. Chrome
2. Red craw
3. Sexy shad
4. Everything else.
Tom
I agree. On 3/19/2014 at 6:39 PM, Grantman83 said:Xcalibur's have amazing finishes and just catch em. Red eye shads are pretty solid as well
XCailbur One Knocker- Pearl Melon
XCalibur XR50 - Royal Shad
Red Eye Shad - Sexy Shad
Thanks everyone those who like the spro aruku shad what color do you use
The Aruku Shad in Perch color is deadly.
Do you know what the colors actual name is
Haven't tried any yet, but stocked up on them this past winter... I will say that my Xcalibur ones sure are pretty!

It works real well in one of my ponds and there's not even perch there .
Yo Zuri vibe is pretty killer too. Gold with orange belly for smallies. Going against the grain here. I have no love for the red eye shads, or many SK hardbaits for that matter.
I have a bunch and they all have a specific condition in which they get used. Cotton Cordell super spot, royal shad or royal chrome and blue shiner, these are the best when you need a bait to vibrate at slow speed. Rapala Clackin' Rap in silver or gold, these are loud one knockers that do well in cold water when it is clear. The Xcalibur one knocker in lemon lime or tilapia for stained water in late spring, and a few others for good measure but these are my work horse baits, and the rattlin rapala is one that works really well in certain area for me as well.
For me, the Aruku Shad in Perch as well.
Another Red Eye Shad fan here. I also like the Storm Rockin Shad.

I can't believe in this whole thread your the first person to talk about jackall LOL the T/N 70 is my all time favorite next to the xcalibur one knocker.
Anybody used the aruku shad in cell mate

NO
My cellmate uses only stolen Megabass cranks
Roger
I like the sebile vibe machine in breeding bluegill color
Xr100 & Xr75 & Xrk100
Colors... Blue shiner , chrome black , gold black
Foxy lady , Tilapia ,royal red
Also use rapala clackin raps various sizes and colors
I love the Rapala Rippin' Rap in both sizes (7/8thoz and 1/2oz). Any natural color works well, along with chrome colors. Those are really the only lipless crankbaits i use anymore, but for a little cheaper ExCalibur lipless cranks are pretty good. I also prefer the ExCaliburs for vertical/ice fishing because it has a very tight wiggle. Both are great baits, and i have caught nice fish on both.
XCalibur XRK75 Rayburn Red
XCalibur XRK100 Foxy Momma
Custom lure I had my lure building buddy make me out of PVC stock, same size and shape as the XCalibur 3/4 ounce baits. It has no rattles and you wouldn't believe how many fish I have caught on them. I have 5 in different colors red craw and bone fish are my best 2 producers.
Strike King Red Eye Shad, Sebile Flatt Shad & Xcalibur 1 knocker would be my choices if I had to pick 3.
I have xr50 in chartreuse wounded bream and it looks KILLER. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. I think they are discontinued.
1/4 oz. Rat-L-Traps in silver and gold for shallows, 1/2 oz. Red Eyes in Citrus Shad,Gold Sexy Shad & Oyster everywhere else.
I like the Cordell Super Spots and Rat-L-Traps and HATE the H2O Express lipless cranks from Academy.

X2
It seems for me that they either want a red eye shad, or an xcalibur one knocker. I will throw a rattle-trap or super spot if I run out of both of these lol.
Koppers Live Target golden shiner, 1/2 and 3/4 oz, chrome/blue back and gold/green back. The Live Target gizzard shad in chrome/blue back. Live target blue gill. All great lipless cranks for me.
Traps, Spots, RES, Aruku Shad, Rippin Rap... All have their place.
1/2 oz cordel spot....chrome blue time in and out most consistant for me.
Tight Lines
