What is your all around favorite go to crank? Which crank do you usually start with or fall back on when other techniques arent working?
Last year was Storm Big Bass square bill texas craw color for shallow water and Normans D22 for deep.
This year i will probably still throw those but i'm also going to try the Strike King 4s square bill for shallow and Strike King 6xd for deep.
For some reason those SK's have really caught my eye, i sure hope they catch the fishes too!! ;D ;D
2-25ft of water is a DD22 in FIRETIGER!
Cranks are one lure that I really dont have a Go-To because they are so much different across the board. For right now, my crank of choice is a Rattle Trap, but once spring is over that will change.
Fat Free Shad in Pearl Shad
early on.. i really like my shallow diving Storm WIggle Wart in Bluegill color...
Another one is as old shad rap with the weird bill
Daiwa peanut, or Bandit 100 series.
-gk
Depending on where the fish are located, either a deep little N or dd22 in Chart. Blue
Don't have a go-to for shallow - but for mid-depths it's the Wiggle Wart, deeper it's the Luhr-Jensen Hot Lips Express.
Lucky Craft FlatCB MR or Fat Rap in Black/silver
dont shoot the messenger..... red eye shad!
I am cheap and do not buy the expensive baits. Chances are I am going to lose them one way or another anyway. I do like the BPS Lazer Eye Nitro Extreme The Egg in chrome shad. It is a shallow running crankbait and seems to really work great for me.
My best producers are the Norman Middle N (pearl w/ purple flake) and Strike King Series 3 & 4 (Sexy Shad)
DD22 for me as well. Just a fantastic crank. It always seems to produce for me.
I also really like the H2O square bill cranks.

I like the Egg as well as the Strike King 1XS shallow diving cranks. These were my most productive cranks fished over the tops of weedbeds.
Redeye shad and Normans Middle N
Megabass Deep-X 300 for me.
Like I stated in a previous, similar post, my holy grail of cranks is my hand signed Fred C Young Big-O Crank. I have never caught a bass below 3 pounds with it. Its my favorite and if I ever lost it to a tree i would cry. legit.
Wait no i wouldn't, I'm on the Sheen.
DT FAT 03
Shallow: Luhr Jensen Speed Trap
Deeper: Norman Deep Little N
Shallow: Bandit 200 in Perch or shad
Deep: Strike King series 5XD Pro Crank in Sexy Shad
Anything by Big M.

hey what about a chain saw. Tree cant stand it
Xcalibur XR50 in Foxy Momma or Lucky Craft RC 2 in American Shad.
The Rapala DT Flat 3 is close on their heels, even though they haven't been on the market for very long. Honorable mention goes to the Cordell Super Spot with upgraded hooks.
This might sound ridiculous but an old school original bomber A in tenessee shad.
I throw just about evevry brand, but when all else fails, that model and color seems to get one in the boat.
Bandit 200...Pearl/Chart Back.
Shad Rap 5 and 7.
Manns minus 1 white
Lucky Craft R.C. 1.5 (Tomato shad)
Rapala Dt 6 10 and 14 in Bluegill, red craw, or hot mustard

That's one of my favorites too, along with a lipless crank (I'm not really picky, SK RES, Rapala, Cordell spot or rattle-trap) in chrome w/blue back.
These are the ones I'll try first.
Tom
Spring/Fall: Norman Fat boy
Summer: Norman Deep Little N or Bomber Fat Free Shad
RC 1.5 coppernose bream for my shallow bait
SK Silent Series 5 for my deeper bait in any shad color
Bandit 100 Series Orange Craw
Strike King Series 5 Firetiger
Spring=dt fat03 in helenski shad
Summer=Norman deep lil n in purple shad
Fall=bandit 200 series in chart craw
Boy this is just too difficult to pick a favorite. It changes with the seasons and sometimes day to day and sometimes during the day. My favorite is what they will hit while I am on the water I guess.
Either RC1.5 in Blue back/chartreuse or Megabass Griffon in Crack Jungle color or Bandit 100 Chart/Pearl... Hard to pick just one.
Strike King Series 5 in chart. sexy shad, with the DD in Bluegill pattern not far behind.
1/2oz. Red Eye Shad in Sexy Shad
RC2.5 in tomato shad...
Last season is was the Bomber 4A in threadfin shad. This season, Im going to give the XCalibur squarebill a workout.
my go to crank isnt a crankbait
For fishing the shallow canals here and this time of the year, the silent kvd 1.5 in bluegill color, hands down.
RC 1.5, Copper perch is the most producing color but they all work. Bandit 100 in Old Matte light is second.
Honorable mention and last years crankbait rookie of the year was the SK silent 5 series in Gizzard shad. While I didn't catch anything big on it I did catch a lot of fish on it.
Allen
Lucky Craft BDS, can't beat the action
Any crankbait as long as it's a Bandit!!
I have a hard time deciding between one of these ;D
I need to add a couple new WEC E-1's & E-2's to the list.

Rapala J7 in fire tiger
Megabass Griffon Zero in Cicada II.
not a fan of the crank
Quotenot a fan of the crank
You're missing a very productive part of your arsenal.
If i had to choose one it would be Lucky Craft Flat CB SR. They are a little finicky to cast but they are hunters of fish and handling requires extreme caution.

I never did like the color schemes on these. I do have 4 more that I would stand in front of a bullet for tho
Shallow- Lucky Craft RC 1.5, Manns Baby 1 Minus
Lipless - Red Eye Shad, Sebile Flat Shad, Spro Aruka Shad & Yozuri Rattlin' Vibe
Mid- C Flash 44 Mag, Storm Wiggle Wart
Deep- Strike King Series 6XD, Jackall Muscle Deep & Norman DD22
My go to crank would have to be a shad rap sr8 in silver w black back. Can't beat it the most natural swimming crankbait ever made
right now, i like dt-10's mainly in hot mustard and silver.
i also like to use jerkbaits on a straight retrieve, they produce lots of bass while im walleye fishing on weed edges, favorites include the LC pointer 78 and 100, american shad, slender pointer 112 american shad and maxrap in red head flake and green flake.
all time favorite is a fat rap (forget the size off hand, larger one) in hot mustard, but they are impossible to find other than ebay and i dont have an account on there heh.

there is something magical about their original foil silver/black color.
RC1.5 in Copper Green Shad, then in White Shad. If I need to go deeper I like the DT series,silver/black. Those are the first ones I try every time out

WOW. I have almost exactly the same answers. x2!
My go-to crank is a Renegade wood crank that Wal Mart sold about 10-12 years ago in either firetiger or baby bass. These run about 6-8' and there is no telling how many bass I've caught on them.
After that it would a 5 size Fat Free Shad.
My favorite is a norman "fat boy".......any color
Strike King pro model series 3 green craw color
Spro Aruku Shad 75 (lipless crank)
