Revo LTX/MGX 7.9:1 32" High speed gear ratio and only 5.4oz!!!!!!!!!!!! gotta learn more about this reel
Look out pixy here comes LTX haha
Those are awesome!!! So how much more effective is a 7.9:1 gear ratio for Japan's finesse-driven-over-pressured waters? Burners used to be 6.4:1. Ha!!
Holy cow that's a sick looking reel. And I was excited to get a Revo Premier, now what!
Revo LTX/MGX 7.9:1 32" High speed gear ratio and only 5.4oz
WOW !
Buy one and get a free Toyota.
I suspect this reel is going to be around or north of the $600.00 mark.
Nice reel for sure.
Those spools look wider than the STX's I have...yes or no? How do they keep the weight so low?
QuoteBuy one and get a free Toyota.
Good one.
Looks like that Revo got Daiwa-fied IMO.
Jeez, I just got a few premiers and thought things couldn't get much better!
5.4oz, what the hell? I wonder how much drag power it has. Looks like a semi-toro version on the right. Maybe its just the angle.
QuoteJeez, I just got a few premiers and thought things couldn't get much better!
This new reel is calling for you David......
As nice as the stats are I'm honestly kind of excited just to see another black reel. Although it seems like they're getting more popular with the smoke, lew's, bps carbon black, etc. I just get so sick of seeing Silver/Green + Gold highlights ;D

They look cool, but there are days during the summer when I can't even pick up my Revo SX.
ahhhhhhh can someone please find some more info on this reel? I looked around and couldn't see any new info, besides the link back to here.
5.4 oz, look out Steez....AG is coming for you
That'll never make it to the states....

Ahhh, Steez, often imitated but never duplicated !
Com'on where are the bashers, its a 5.4 oz lightweight reel that costs a boat load of $$$. Heaven forbid someone enjoy a little pleasure while fishing with something nice.

I REALLY like the Steez line, especially when I get to get my gorilla paws on yours The price tag that is on it, deters me away, but in no way do I have anything else bad to say about the STEEZ line of reels

You keep enjoying your "nice" gear. I'll enjoy catching big fish instead of pond rats.
A Japanese Revo. It's kind of like sushi filled with Swedish meatballs. I'll get one when Tackle Warehouse closes them out for 129.97.

x3, but I'm tempted to PM you and ask about your "nice" gear. ;D
Ill enjoy my nice gear and catch fish......as I am sure steezy does too. Jealousy is easy to spot on this forum.
Here's a few to look at.

Not jealousy.
Big fish on average gear > average fish on amazing gear. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Not again ....you guys keep it civil. Just remember the old saying about opinions.

Come on Wayne, it's 'peace keeper'. Nice try though.
come on guys, those comments are ridiculously rude. Thanks for stepping in five.bass.limit.
Quotecome on guys, those comments are ridiculously rude. Thanks for stepping in five.bass.limit.
I have yet to see where spending tons of money on a reel has helped me catch more fish or make a presentation easier. Then again I don't throw deep cranks or heavy swimbaits.

LOL!
Who ever said it will catch you more fish? Some of us like cadillac's some of us like driving a old beater. Both will bring you to A to B but driving the Cadillac is just that much comfortable to drive. Having had the pleasure to fish some high end reels and rods, do i think that I will catch more fish cause of them? No but its the little things that make fishing that more enjoyable to me and if you want to enjoy the little things dont criticize someone cause you dont see the point. We all have are own opinion on what to spend on a reel and rod, so if someone appreciates the nicer things in life and you dont like it, keep it to your self. We dont care that you fish with a lower priced reel and rod or do we criticize you for having them. Just had to put my .2c in! 8-)

Please explain how your average gear outfishes steezy's gear? It doesnt. No matter how many times a week you want it to. If Steezy would have implied his expensive gear catches more fish, how do you think that would go over?
If every rod and reel were the same price, nobody here would be talking about Bass Pro reels. IM 6 rods would get igonored rather than celebrated.
If my hobby was woodworking or fixing cars I would want the best tools. I fail to see why anyone spending their money, on something they want, is met with such hostility here.

I agree with most of what you said, except for the highlighted part.
It's not the equipment, it's who is holding it.
I'm sure Steezy and I will discuss a bunch of topics on the Road Trip. This is sure to be one of them. We will have a whole week to talk about rods, reels, baits and life.
Trust me, interpretations of posts on here are totally different in person. In person, you have the ability to see someone's reaction and know immediately that it was interpreted incorrectly.
The Road Trip is open to everyone and is a wide-open discussion all week long. You are more than welcome to come join the festivities. As I said, the discussions that occur on the trips pale in comparison to a face to face talk.
Wayne
The highlighted part was what you said. Two ways I see it can be taken....My less expensive gear allows me to catch more fish or....IF you buy expensive gear you are not a good fisherman.
Both make no sense and the second is a personal attack. Either way....not impressed. I fail to see how this could be taken any differently if you said it to me in person.
I think this reel is an exciting development. It's always interesting to see the new gear come out - pretty cool stuff.
It's also cool that there are folks that appreciate such fine equipment and if they choose to invest in this kind of gear that's great. It's also cool that there are folks that concentrate on putting their dollars in "value-based" equipment that catches fish...but may not be the smoothest, latest, or greatest. I think there is room on this board for both types of anglers and both camps should probably "cool-it" on the catty remarks.
Up to a certain point, your equipment can be a limiting factor in your fishing success. However, when you go above a certain price point (which IMO is about $100-$120 for a reel - perhaps as much as $150-$180 for a rod), there is a diminishing return in improvement in angling success - but the pleasure in using the equipment continues to increase and that's cool too.
What gets me is when new anglers post for advice about equipment selections, when they say they're on a limited budget, and they are just looking for good, serviceable gear........and they get recommendations for rods and reels costing $200 on up. Do you really need to spend $400 to catch a bass. No. In these cases, the "equipment junkies" do a dis-service in their recommendation. Someone might say, wow, $400 to get started fishing...I'm 'outa' here.
Just saying...

Ok. You're taking it personally. I will present you a third option.
The reference was actually toward Fourbizz's post. Please allow me to expound.
Foubizz catches huge fish on "average" gear. Not the best, not the worst. Steezy catches "average" fish on amazing gear. (Nothing wrong with catching "average" fish, that's what I catch too.)
My "equation" in the first post was a reference to that. I would PERSONALLY rather catch big fish on mundane, ordinary gear than own a boatload of 1000 dollar combos and catch dinks.
Good day sir.
BTW, that Revo sure is a nice looking reel. ;D

I still fail to see why it has to be one or the other? Why cant one catch big fish using nice gear? Maybe you are not the person to ask.....maybe fourbizz will chime in with the answer.
Maybe.
Guess we'll see. Again, good day.
Looks like something of an episode of 'pimp my reel' ;D ;D
I can catch a fish on a cane pole and no reel.
QuoteI can catch a fish on a cane pole and no reel.
I did not know there was a steez cane pole.
Less expensive equipment allows me to travel to better lakes and catch more and bigger fish. That is how it works. ;D

Its actually a JDM rod called a stane.

Flying on a private jet even faster to even more lakes to catch even more fish. That is really how it works.

That is a huge point. Many guys don't realize just how far some of us will travel to fish. Travel is expensive. I am not content to fish the local pond. That can be fun, but only for so long.
Have a nice day
