Monster still has the curado $40 off if interested

fishing user avatarJon G reply :

Same price and looks exactly like the curado....

I hope that doesn't mean they will be removing the Curado, I really enjoy that reel

fishing user avatarFishTank reply :

I like the reel but the price point leaves me scratching my head.  They should have priced this at $110 or less.

fishing user avatarJrob78 reply :

Has anyone actually seen the MSRP?  The Ebay seller might be charging extra because no one else has them.

fishing user avatariceintheveins reply :

Does anyone know when BPS, Cabelas or TW will be getting them?

Msrp is $149.99

fishing user avatardeep reply :

If it's anything like the Curado I, it'd be an awesome reel. The Citica G I thought was ordinary (good, but nothing great)- in contrast to the Curado G which was- and is- outstanding, especially for the price I bought them for.

Not too worried about the price tag. Who pays full retail anyway? Got my Curado I for $100 shipped, very lightly used. Pretty sure I'll be able to find a Citica I for under a hundred bucks if and when I want one.

Hmmmm..... That makes me really thinl that the Curado may be going away. It would make since why they would have been on sale for a while if a new reel is coming in at the same price range. I really hope they don't though.

That's odd.   Seems oftly close to the Curado.

Makes me think the Curado may be on the way out to make room for a Chronarch G

fishing user avatarColdSVT reply :

Citica i does not appear to have S A RB...

So pretty much like the E series citica and curado as far as comparison

Curado probably has better quality internals just like before

fishing user avatarEvanT123 reply :

I hear they are going to replace the new curado with a 50 size and keep the citica.

That makes sense but the Curado has only been out for what, a year?  I don't see them getting rid of a new platform Curado that quickly.  I see what you're saying about the Chronarch G but they caught so much hell the last time they did that.  But, if the MSRP of the Citica really is $150 and they are selling Curados for less than that, it makes sense.  ICAST will be interesting this year.

fishing user avatarJon G reply :

Where have you guys heard of a chronarch G? If this is a true that the will be a 50 size Curado I, Chronarch G, and a new Citica my wallet is REALLY going to hurt  :cry4:

fishing user avatarGrantman83 reply :

Well the curado is back up to $179.99 so maybe this is why

We were just speculating about a Chronarch G.

Various outlets have been discounting all of the Chronarch E models, presumably to dump inventory and make room for the new whatever they'll call it.

fishing user avatarJohn G reply :

Why make the best Curado ever, IMHO, and then get rid of it in a year! There is absolutely no logic in that so there has to be something else going on here.

fishing user avatarGrantman83 reply :

Also, why bring out a chronarch g when you have the ci4 out

fishing user avatarJon G reply :

Why make a new Citica and price it around the same price range as the Curado? I definitely wouldn't mind a 50 sized Curado I though.

fishing user avatarCgrinder reply :

This is a headscratcher. Hopefully it will make more sense when we have more information.

fishing user avatarib_of_the_damned reply :

Whats with the copper/bronze spool and highlights? Reel would have looked better with a silver or black spool...
