those are awesome craig! great job man! it's january and you're wearing short sleeves? the grass, plants, and trees are all green? how warm is it there? i thought it got fairly cold in oklahoma in the winter. maybe i was wrong. anyway, great fish and congratulations big time!!!

fishing user avatarJimzee reply :

Hawg Caller, a little off topic but had to say I clicked on your photobucket sig and wow.  Truly some fine fish there sir and great pictures as well.

fishing user avatarLCpointerKILLA reply :

I'm going to go ahead and be the one to say that bass on the bottom picture is definitely dead. The other one may be as well. I know what a dead bass looks like. Plus it looks like you just picked up each bass out of a cooler right there to take that picture in that same spot. Regardless, they are/were nice fish.

fishing user avatarRedlinerobert reply :

Nice fish!  Congratulations!

So if you released them in the evening, what'd you keep them in during the day?  By the looks of the blue skies behind you, it doesnt look close to evening time....

fishing user avatarHawg Bass Assassin reply :

hawg caller~ man it go's from 20-40 & then 40-70 degrees.

Things are both dead & alive around here...you go but 1 mile down the road & the trees & grass are dead. Then go a mile up the road and things are alive.

Been a weird fall & early winter around here.

Thanks for the comp's Paul...They sure nice to catch & start the new year off good.

Craig

fishing user avatarHawg Bass Assassin reply :

LCpointerKILLA~Both bass were alive and well buddy.

I hade them both in a 120 quart cooler for about 20 minute's max.

I don't keep Hawg's...Just take pic's & weight them & away they go back into the water.

Some of bass in the creek are dark while other look pale white.

That is why the 1 looks dead..I agree after re look'n at the pic.

H.B.A.

fishing user avatarHawg Bass Assassin reply :

Redlinerobert~ I had them both in a 120 quart cooler.

It was just after 3:30 p.m. / When, I started fishing the creek.

fishing user avatarfourbizz reply :

I don't think either fish looks dead. a little stressed, but not dead.

the topic should have stopped at "yes, they were released"

great catches HBA! is it my turn yet? ;D

fishing user avatarHawg Bass Assassin reply :

fishing user avatarGatorbassman reply :

He's right about the weather that day. I checked it out.

http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KFSI/2008/1/2/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA

fishing user avatarT-rig reply :

Nice fish, but it sure doesn't look like winter in that pic.

fishing user avatarRandall reply :

I noticed the tree right off when I first saw the post a few days back. I can't believe it took this long for someone else to notice. Then I noticed a few other fishy things and had to be skeptical and dig a little.  I am going to wait and see how long it takes the detectives to find the other fishy things.  HBA Weather warm or cold has very little to do with trees. Its mostly photo period and we are way past any chance of green leaves even if its 80 degrees. Nice fish though.

Randall, you talking about the hanging plants on the porch that are green and not frost resistant or you talking about the fish being caught after 3:30 pm and the sun in the pic is casting a shadow directly overhead meaning sometime around noon.

fishing user avatarGatorbassman reply :

Or the incredibly dark color of the bass in 40 degree water?

Never even considered that.  Good call.

Went down to the creek Friday night after work and pulled this nice 1 out.

She went 10 lb 1 oz

25" long

(Insert photo from HBA's avatar here which can also be found in this post on bassresource http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196437785/0#0 )

Then went back down to the creek Saturday morning & pulled this 1.

She went 9 lb 8 oz

& around 24" long---- Hawg Bass Assassin

I cut and pasted this off another fishing site. Notice the date on the post. The fish in his avatar and his previous post with the fish lying on the real green grass from his previous posts (see link below)on Bassresource are the same fish. He posted both photos together on the other website and said he caught them on back to back days which are listed as days in June with two different weights. He posted the same fish on the other website but the stories don't match with what is posted here. Here on Bass Resource one was caught in fall http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1197747892/0#0 When was it caught? Maybe June? But who knows?Looks like a lie on both sites to me. I was on to him from many posts back when he posted the same fish twice and the others looked like the same fish twice.

fishing user avatarJimzee reply :

Uh-oh!  Care to explain HBA?  :-?

fishing user avatarLow_Budget_Hooker reply :

We don't judge people by their catches but by their integrity.

(otherwise Muddy would have been run off a long time ago, he can't catch a cold!  ;D )

But we love him anyway, see what I mean?

(Muddy, I'm only playin' with ya,....I know you can catch a cold,lol ;) ;D )

You noticed that too. ;):)

over here the bass have a very dark color even in 40 degree water. I thinks it all depends on on the body of water.

The story is definately fishy though.

man you guys are ruthless ;D ;Dhe has probably tucked tail and ran to a new site now ;D

fishing user avatarRoLo reply :

I've been monitoring this thread ever since FourBizz popped the question (were they released?)

On the one hand, it's nice to know that you belong to a group of gracious anglers who are free with their compliments.

On the other hand, it's just as nice to know that we're not a group of pushovers, but are observant individuals dialed into detail.

I think LBH said it all.

We're judged first by our integrity, THEN by the fish we catch.

Let's face it, we all live-and-breathe for that double-digit bass,

but no bass in the world is worth more than our integrity.

Nice work fellows, as always ;)

Roger

fishing user avatarKU_Bassmaster. reply :

I try my best to live by the motto "If you can't say someting nice, then don't say anything at all".

So thus far I have  :-X on this thread ::):P

fishing user avatarAlpster reply :

It's a shame too... I would have been way proud of them bass, no matter when I caught em.

Ronnie

fishing user avatarLCpointerKILLA reply :

This thread has really taken a bad turn. It is time to come clean. Hawg Bass Assassin, are you really 34 years old?

JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING!!!

:D;):D ;D ;):D ;D ;):D ;D ;):D ;D

fishing user avatarfourbizz reply :

Well, I am going to have to say that I agree with Randall. I try not to get into stuff like this because people always like to talk crap and doubt when you get a big fish. That really bums me out.

BUt after all the things posted, i saved some pictures to my computer and blew them up with adobe photoshop.

I am fairly certain that his "14lb2oz" fish and his "12lb9oz fish are the same one.

I blew the tails on those fish up to the exact same size and mirrored one of them so that they had the same orientation.

They had the same shape, proportioning and most importantly an identical sore on the bottom of the tail.

Now fish get these sores alot and for many different reasons. but the one on the bottom of the tail is almost always found during or right after the spawn, from fanning the bed. Add in that the extreme greenery behind both pictures and the T-shirt, says it was a spring or early summer fish. Also the big old splotch on the side in the "14lb" picture tells me she is dead.

And like Randall said, the fish in his avatar he posted in 2 different threads a couple weeks apart. One said that it was caught in the last 2 years and the other that it was caught a couple weeks before. They both have the exact same cross shaped marking in the lateral line.

I have known for along time that big fish can make people ugly, but I'm pretty sure that you , HBA, are taking us for a ride.

Not Cool.

fishing user avatarJimzee reply :

Look at it this way Fourbizz, your reputation as well as many other big bass hunters on this board is well established. I think when you big bass gurus get doubted it is always by someone new. I don't think this thread has gotten a bit ugly. I think everyone has been more than civil in their postings.

Everyone has just pointed out different things they have noticed on the photos. If HBA posted his catch and said, "Look at these fish I have caught over the past few years.", I don't think anyone would have said a thing. He had me fooled. Heck, I don't know what it's like in many states during the winter. I had no reason to question his post. Now, his integrity is lost. I for one have never had a reason to lie about my ability of catching fish. Some days I get it done, some days I go back to the house scratching my head. HBA, if you are reading this, these guys aren't out to get you. There is no reason to fib about when you caught them. Many guys on here including myself have never caught a DD bass. Be proud that you did! Just don't take us for a ride, that's all.

BTW Fourbizz, great point on the splotch. You guys are good. 8-)

fishing user avatarHawg Bass Assassin reply :

Dang...Never have, I seen so many P.I.'s.

Well,The T-Shirt & Blue Jean's, Are my favorite one's to wear fishing...

They bring me good luck.

As far as the weather... It's been cold & hot as hell over night.

Place's around here look like full Spring time then turn around & on otherside of road look like winter dead.

The story is the truth Ya'all...Believe it or not...H.B.A.

fishing user avatarbuzzbaitfool12 reply :

Hey guys, I have not been posting awhile on this site and have missed out..however after reading this post I am kind of in awe about the balls of some of us on who keeps and doesnt keeps bass..You can ask fluke I am strictly one hundred and 10 percent catch and release..However if this guy decided to keep both of these fish, It completely up to him and not up to us ask to become investigators on whether or not he caught this fish and if he really caught it..If he did not catch the fish when he said he did then he will have  to deal with lost integrity and not the bassresource investigators..If I was someone new I would be afraid to post on this site because things would be under questioning if something did not go exactly the way the majority thought it should be..So guys lighten up..Just my two cents..

And guys lets all come clean..Its not like we have never had a little white lie get us in a pickle.. ;D

You all have to understand to that people keep fish..

fishing user avatarfourbizz reply :

I hear what you are saying buzz,

i think most of the s***storm is not that one or more of the fish may be dead.

I don't like big dead fish, but that is one thing. Being lied to is quite another. I think that is what everyone is peeved about, not the C&R aspect. I don't really think its a white lie either. I think it is straight up unforgivable DISHONESTY.

My first post here was of a 47lb 5 fish sack and everybody was just as cool as they were for the first couple pages of this thread. So i don't think that just showing up and posting big fish will get you flamed.

But who knows, we may all be way off base.

For that matter, why haven't you been posting? Don't love us anymore? :D

fishing user avatarbuzzbaitfool12 reply :

fourbizz I have been catching fish man..No time to be on the net..lol

I think he said he caught that one at Clear Lake, CA.

I think this one has run it's course and people have formed their opinions. I'm going to lock it up before it gets worse.
