What is the difference between this reels compared to the other reels?

Answer: I don't believe there is much difference in reels like this in the $40 price range as far what they are suppose to do. This reel is built solid and performs flawlessly. I bought a second one due to the price and quality.

Answer: It's just a good reel for the money--I have two. Has sensitive controls.

If your familiar with Kastking, you won't be disappointed. I can only compare it to the Kastking Crixus baitcaster reel, and on every level it's just as good and it's even lighter. Very smooth, and the magnetic setting wheel was a brilliant idea, it is very convenient. For this price point, it honestly competes to any mid range baitcasters, and beats any super cheap reels. I would say it would be a great purchase for a beginner, but I'm 100% sure even vet anglers will enjoy this, it don't feel cheap, super solid quite reel.

Very nice reel, very smooth and casts very well, easy to set up if you are familiar with baitcasters. I took it apart and cleaned oiled and greased it before using and internally it is the same as my KastKing Royal Legend 2 which has been excellent. Another good thing is it cost $20.00 less than the KastKing which makes it a screamin hot deal. Oh and #2 is already on the way!

So far this reel has outperformed & more than proven itself worth the price, imo.

This is the first bait-caster I've ever held let alone purchased & used. I actually just got into bass fishing a few weeks ago.

I figured for the price, let's play. Took me about 2 days to get down all the different settings, drag, brake, etc. Now I'm just rippin lips non-stop. This reel really performs, even against 2-3ft Chain Pickerel.

I've been switching it around & playing with it on different types & lengths of rods. From 4'6" to 6'6". Ultra light to Medium.

I've had 6lb, 8lb, 10lb, 12lb & right now I'm happily rigged up with 15lb & it's just killin it. From poppers, flukes, spinners/spoons to cranks & soft swimbait.

Super durable, wicked fast, quiet & smooth. So far it's cosmetically holding up to all the wear. Solid 5 stars unless something happens.

Old School : Excellent Price But Unfortunately Falls Short

After watching a review online i decided to give the Calamus X2 a go.
The reel's build quality is ok, casting is quite smooth and responsive.
Unfortunately the tension knob (Which is supposed to click as you adjust)
on mine did not work very well.
Another problem area is the breaking mechanism, not very accurate and combined
with a dodgy tension knob you are unable to dial it in accurately.
Anyway it's only $30 but i was expecting more to be honest, i will be returning mine...

Absolutely stunned at the quality for the price. Smooth all around (Drag/Gears/Tension/Brakes). Just ordered a second one after trying it out. These are great if you need a new reel or even a kayak/backup reel. Feels great in hand.

This is probably the best bang for the buck reel I have purchased. I have reels that easily cost 10 times as much, and this reel isn't much worse than them. It operates smooth, the brakes are easy to adjust, the bearings are quiet, the spool is perforated which I like, and the tension knob clicks when you adjust it. I will adjust my review if I encounter any issues, but this is a great buy at more than double this price for sure!
