Reel looks great but the 5/6 weight reel wont hold backing and 5 wt line. Did i get mismarked reel?
Answer: I havethree of the 5/6 reels and I put 70 yds of backing and then put my line on.

Answer: i think so, I never took them apart. They run so smooth I would think so.

This is a very nice silver fly fishing reel. It's light weight and a good quality. It came packaged well and arrived safely. I can't wait to get to go fishing so I can try it out.

I really wanted to try this reel, its well made, light weight and a nice reel even at 2x the price. I loaded 100 yds of 20# backing on it and a Rio 5wt WF line. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold the backing and line. It is the exact same size as my Pfluger Supreme 3/4 and my kids Redington Rise 3/4. I am sure if I only used 80 yds backing it might work but on the Rogue River, its common to hook a 8-12# steelhead and 60-80 yds of backing isn't going to cut it. I tried to contact company, via link on Amazon but got error 404 so its going back. I would keep it but already have a super nice Pfluger 3/4 and spare spool for lakes. It is clearly marked 5/6 on reel and box. Back to Amazon it goes and I am still looking for a real 5/6 size reel.

Great reel for the money! Will be buying another for a backup. True size for line fits 8wt 230grain no problem with plenty of room smooth drag system and looks good... Been fly fishing for years and between all the gear I have this was a great purchase thanks!
Michael J. Edelman : Well made for the money
The market is absolutely overflowing these days with fly fishing gear at a fraction of what it would have cost a few decades ago. Some of it is very good, some of it is mediocre, and some of it is junk. This reel s very good, especially given the price range. I put an old, worn, 5wt DT line on it for testing (see photos) but I think I’m going to put a newer line and backing on and make this part of my travel/car rig. It’s nicely finished, smooth running, and has a very smooth and effective disk drag. The manufacturer says it comes with a three year warranty, too. That can be a bit of a crap shoot with Chinese companies that pop up and disappear in a few months, but I think this seller has been around for a few years.
Kelemen Family : Line slips through the edge of the spool
Seems like a great reel for the money. Well constructed and alright drag. Spool knob and drag knob are plastic… the main problem is that every time you go to take more line out to cast, the line gets caught in between the spool and the other part of the reel so it scuffs up your fly line and makes it nearly impossible to pull line off the reel

Reel is very smooth for the price. It feels solid and well built. Bought this for my son, when his fly reel drag began to lock up. His old reel was bought at a large sporting goods store and was a good brand. This reel feels more smooth and solid than his last one. I opted for this one because he is younger and hard on equipment. I didn't want to drop a bunch of money on a reel he would step on or something. So far, it has exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this reel. Even he says it is better than his last one.
