Is this good for catching tadpoles?

Answer: No, the mesh is not fine enough. For tadpoles I’d recommend a smaller handled net, with a smaller net - finer mesh is also a requirement so that tadpoles don’t escape through.

Answer: The net volume shape (that I have - there are different styles) is that of a cylinder. This means that the circular depth on the X & Y axis is about 12” by 12” (12” diameter circle). The height/depth of the net basket is also about 12” deep.

Answer: Not really the plastic molded connector breaks or first or second use if fish is over 8oz weight fishing in 2020. This needs a simple update for pole to be a fantastic net. It needs a aluminum connector to connect net to its aluminum collapsible pole not the thin molded plastic connector it had in 2020.

Answer: Yes for small to medium sized bass. If you’re catching fish longer than 16”-18” then you may want to get a wider mouth net that is also deeper/taller to fit the larger fish.

Answer: For the price, yes, however it is not as sturdy as those tried and true all aluminum one-piece fishing net frames. This is a great net for the price though and I’ve put it through some abuse already without any breakages. If you’re able to bring two of these on trips I’d recommend it just in case one breaks, but I’m confident you’ll find the net to be sufficient and reliable for most fishing and crabbing uses.

Answer: I would think that this net would work very well for this application, just as long as the shells you’re picking up aren’t semi-submerged in the sand (requiring you to dig the shells out using the net). The net will certainly handle the weight of some shells but try not to apply too much perpendicular/downward pressure on the net frame itself.

The net worked out great on a recent trout fishing trip to Colorado. I liked the long handle and the belt clip they proved to be very handy. This net has plastic coating on the net and it really makes a difference. The fish don't get stuck in the
webbing and you are not harming the fish in any way. The long handle gives you the reach you need when fly fishing and the clip keeps the net with you and not on the shoreline.

Our kids love fishing and camping. You don't really need fishing net when you go camping but it comes in handy when we go catching for crawfish or minnows in the rivers and lakes.
I bought this because the handle is telescopic pole and even the net can be collapsed and folded for ultimate portability and packing. We already have so many fishing gears and camping gears so a big fishing net is the last thing we want to add to our packing list but this packable fishing net is perfect for our needs.
The aluminum pole is very light yet strong and love the triangular fishing net that is very wide and deep when opened. The Nylon mesh for the net itself seems very durable as well.
This portable fishing net is perfect and can't wait to pack it during our fishing and camping trips in the summer!

Lightweight, and the netting seems to be thick and sturdy. The frame bent and broke, however during our first use. We bought this for the kids to “net” sand crabs in the ocean during our vacation. Maybe we should have bought a steel net for this, but we had never dipped in the surf before for crabs, so we weren’t sure what to buy. This net should be fine for fishing or just dipping in the water for things, but it didn’t hold up for digging in the sand/waves. :)

Net is much sturdier and of a higher quality than I was expecting. When fully extended the net still feels sturdy enough to wrangle in large fish. The net expands much larger than I expected based on how small the net is when it is collapsed.

My only (small) complaint is that it has wrist strap only. I would like to have a strap that would fit over my shoulder.

Interesting story: I called for my wife to assist me when I had a 19-inch tiger trout hooked in a lot of reeds. There was one 18" gap where I sought to bring him in. Love the folding and telescoping. Only problem is the rubbery net material. I took this out once and spent as much time trying to get my hook unstuck from the net as I did actually fishing. My hooks didn't stick nearly as much to my old net with a more ropey material.

I love it. I have not used it to pull in a fish yet, but I can tell it will do the job exceptionally well. My only concern is I need two hands to open it, and I wish it would open with a flick of the wrist more easily. I am hopeful this will improve with wear.
