Will thid hold the rod while i reel? I am handicapped and looking for a wearable pole holder for bank and boat fishing.

Answer: The holder will not grasp the pole by itself, so if you are capable to hold the pole with one arm and fight the weight of the fish and use your other arm to reel it will work for you. If you are bound to a wheel chair this will not help you, you would need to have a mounted rod holder you will need to keep the fish weight off your lap and cannot do so sitting down. Hope this was helpful.

Answer: The cup is too small to accomodate many larger rod butts. I would not buy this item again. My Ugly Stik catfish rod doesn't fit it like it should. Cup needs to be larger.

Works. The opening was a tad bit small for my 12ft rod. So I added a PVC coupler (2 to 1..5 inch) and it works just fine. Drilled 2 small holes through the coupler and rod seat and secured them with some dry wall anchors through the holes.

This is well constructed and the padding on the big plastic part is awesome. But I bought it to support my gimbal pole and it really doesn't work for that. (At least not for the DJI Ronin-S.) The cup isn't deep or fitted enough for the Ronin pole (tripod thing, collapsed) and so it pops out easily. Also there is a little stick in the cup made for fishing poles, but a gimbal isn't a fishing pole.
