The 16-inch landing net is ideal for pond fishing. The mesh material is very strong, preventing the hook from being caught, preventing damage to the fish, safely capturing and releasing it. It folds up in a very compact size, light weight and easy to carry. Take up less space. The belt clip can be fastened to my chair and can be easily opened with one hand.

I bought this net to go on vacation with our family. I specifically picked this one for durability. I am sad to say the handle broke after 2 days of use. We were able to tape it in a fashion to keep it alive for the rest of the trip, but in the end we got rid of it. Other than the broken handle, it was made well.

Mark & Jen : Tragic flaw in an otherwise awesome portable net
The folding and telescopic aspects of this net are great however it broke on my second trip using it due to a tragic flaw in it's design. The hoop and stem of the net are aluminum which is strong enough and great, but the folding connector between them is plastic. This could be reasonable considering the net's cheap price point, but, as seen in my attached picture, the plastic bridge connecting the two are so questionably thin that breaking seems inevitable if you don't always handle it delicately.
The huge triangular opening of the net made it great for dragging along the beach briefly as waves are receding to gather sand crabs for surf fishing but the force of pushing the net into the sand snapped it on my second trip. The connector could be plastic but should be 2-3 times thicker to give this net the durability it visually appears to otherwise have.

I'm a beginner fisherman, so the following review is my initial impressions out of the box, with no experience using it in actual fishing yet. I will update the review as needed following actual use in the field. OOTB, the item is excellent, with very good quality fit, finish, and functionality. It's very light, and has a couple of nice appointments.
The net does not have a ring all the way around, leaving a net-only lip on the top that I imagine will make getting the fish into the net w/o damage easier. The folding and telescoping mechanisms seem sturdy and operate smooth and easy. I especially liked the locking mechanism once the net is unfolded - it looks to me like it won't/can't fold up on you unexpectedly.

Love that it folds down! not much to say about it, it's a fishing net. Definitely got some hooks caught up in it that I had to cut away, but I'm sure that's just the way it goes with fishing nets in general. My boat is pretty small and doesn't have a ton of space, so this was pretty nice to keep it out of the way. Able to scoop up 18" rainbow trouts with no trouble. The rubber coating is nice too to keep the fish protected if you're releasing them again

Nice sturdy lightweight fishing net. The net folds up small making it easy to stow and carry. The extension handle seems sturdy and easy to use. The locking clasp to open and close the net is plastic but made of a sturdy plastic the feels very tough. The spring loaded locking mechanism is a bit tight but I imagine that means it will keep it from folding up unintentionally. The net is a nice durable feeling met with roughly quarter size holes. It has a waxy coating on it which I imagine is what is said to protect the fish scales from damage. The holes are small enough this could be used for minnows and other small bait fish.
The only drawback is the bag it comes with. It needs to be slightly larger to make it easy to store and retrieve. It is so right it feels like the zipper will fail at any minute. That is, if you can get it in the bag once you take it out. I did not deduct any rating for this as I don’t plan to store it in the bag long term. More of a novelty and nice add on, but I don’t plan to keep it.
