Q:
Would this be able to be used to net salmon up in paluski ny? they vary from 15-30 lbs there.
Answer: no, not big enough nets and not strong enough
Answer: I dont think so. You definitely would have to hold it at the base of the net and not extended at all. I wouldn't go past 8 to 10 lbs with it.
Answer: Absolutely can do that.I tried to catch the salmom, which is about 20Lb. the net works well!
Answer: Yes this net sure can you won't be disappointed I assure you that you won't.
Answer: probably a little small area wise and pole length for that
Q:
what are the dimensions of the net?
Answer: The long telescoping model has a round opening 19 inches in diameter. The net is 17 inches deep, and 6 inches in diameter at the bottom. The net material is not at all impressive; it would be likely fine for fish up to 5 lbs. Up to 10 lbs. just a maybe, beyond that it would seem doubtful. Not one iota of instruction with the item. Very complex engineering of telescoping setup. Took me over 30 minutes of cursing to get it setup. Would not recommend, frankly.
Q:
Is it really that long? (37" /69" /85")
Answer: What is the length of the extended handle and what are the dimensions of the net itself?
Answer: I have measured mine only a little bit deviation.

Q:

Answer: 98 inches extended X 33.5 inches folded

Answer: It depends on your rod holder.
Answer: It sure does...
Q:
Does the handle lock in place when folded up?

Product reviews of SAN LIKE Fishing Net Fish Landing Nets Collapsible Telescopic Sturdy Pole Handle for Saltwater Freshwater Extending to 36/43/71/98inches
LYNN MARIE : well made
I did not use this for fishing but it is a nice item. Big net.
Phil : Is what it is
Cheap and short
Carl Johnson : This can not be used as a regular net would be. Even their add even says it will break. Junk
Sorry I bought it. Going back as soon as I can get it to them. Add very deceitful. Title says one thing but add says it has 4 adjustments up to 90 some inches. Apparently they sell different sizes but it leads you to believe the item you are getting adjust to all the sizes given. This size unless you pull the fish up exactly as they say which is net down tilted with head down it will break. Cheaply made. Cheap plastic bead string running across head will break first decent fish you catch. Lets be honest. Unless the fish is big enough to need a net it should be able to use correctly.
Rick Steele : Works better than expected.
Love how transportable it is and that hooks etc. do not get enmeshed in it. One thing just wish it was 2 feet longer.
Paul vang : Good
Good
MPA : Durable and well priced
Nice telescoping net, not many options on the market. Hasn't failed me yet.
Janer : Flimsy
Very flimsy, net lock slides
Dominic Fx4 : San Like Fish Lansing Net offers a great product for boaters and bank fishermen.
San Like offers a collapsible design with the benefits of using minimal storage space in your boat. Plus it’s easy to carry in a small pack when bank fishing.
The 43” expandable handle offers great reach from pontoon boats to John-boats and landing fish prior to exposing them to rock or grass on a hard bank.
The rubber coated mesh cuts down on lure snags. Which keep the net like new.
Vue Xiong : Too flimsy
Not sturdy at all. The tighteners are too rough to work smoothly.
KEVIN HUTCHENS : Hope for something nice........ wasted.
The rubber net was melted to the fittings so i pulled gently to un-stick it and it tore the net. I will send it back.
Amazon Customer : Works good.
Bought to clean leaves from my koi pond. Works good for my application.
Jank1 : Flimsy Handle
The handle pulls out of the pole even when tightened with a pliers.
Natividad : waste of time and money
Made real cheap buy a better one at Wal Mart
Gary : Order not complete
Fish gripper with scale or whatever it was didn't arrive with the net net was in a box by itself if it hadn't been for the fish gripper out of probably bought a different net
Don S : Best bet I've owned for the money
Great product I would recommend this item to anyone. Easy to fold and unfold. Very compact when folded, and very sturdy.
dms : sturdy fishing net
I like how compact this net becomes when folded. Easy to keep in the boat.
ddguy : Pretty strong pole, nice rubberized net
I use this to collect debris from my pond. I routinely use it to handle about 10 pounds of material. At full extension, I bring the net to me in the water and then point the pole vertically when it is close. Managing the netted material this way is very nice, regardless of how heavy it is. The telescoping is fairly easy to extend/contract. Overall, for the price I paid, I can't ask for more from a net.
Gavin Holzworth : This Is perfect for compact net storage!
This net is mostly plastic but it held up well! It fold on the net part so its perfect for Kayak fishing. I will be buying more.
Kevin : Nice folding net
First one I bought was defected and broke. The extension part that you twist was broke. Requested a replacement which arrived very quickly. The second one worked great and had no problem with. I definitely recommend this product as it’s compact, folds easily and the rubber coated net seems pretty good.

HYW : A robust extendable landing net
I recently found an excellent fishing spot under a small bridge, where there are abundant crappies. However, the area is covered with water and rocks, making it a bit difficult to land the crappies. In fact, I have lost quite a number of cappies during several fishing trips, which was very frustrating and prompted me to purchase a landing net. I chose this net (the longest form) because of its length (~100 inches when fully extended) and depth (~17 inches). I have used the net during a couple of fishing trips and am very pleased. The net is very robust, and it is actually already long enough without full extended, but being able to extend to 100 inches is certainly a good option. I have not lost single crappie after using this landing net. Needless to say, I am very happy with the purchase.
K. Celata : Works for the Cat
I'm disabled & can't chase the darn cat who badly needs treatment in her ear. If you try to buy a net labelled for catching cats, etc you're going to pay over $150 even if it's the very same product. This one is great. It's strong, rubber mesh which decreases claws entangling. The handle is sturdy and adjustable. It's just big enough for my cat, who is a smidge smaller than average. My nephew who is a devoted fisherman says this is a great net for fishing as well.
LordChumley : Very well built, easy to use.
Very well built, quality product, easy to use.
chb2003 : Good net
Like the way it is collapsable.
raemak : it works
easy to use
Doug S. : Easy to carry on back pack.
Light weight and easily puts away after use.

K. A. : not great quality - handle detached quickly
the telescope handle is poorly made, detached itself after 2nd use, did not extend very far and maybe I should have read description better, but overall disappointing.
Oceanus : Butterfly Net?
Item did not include grabber. Plastic seems to be of poor quality. Haven't used it yet..doesn't feel very durable...not expecting it to last. Maybe ok for catching butterflies..
Alysse M. Morgan : Net is cheaply built
This net is a piece of junk. Do not buy it. It broke on the first fish I netted. Had to grab the fish bare handed. Waste of money. Not sturdy or durable at all.
Angie : Best Fishing Net on the Market
Nice Fishing net for all those fishermen out there. Easy to collapse and carry. Very sturdy and easy to carry along with your rod and reel. I'm very satisfied with this product.

Lee Brown : Large net
Nice big net. Seems to be sturdy.
Cashabanks : Buy it. I'm picky. If I love it so will you :)
Really awesome net. Really well made. Awesome material. Really feels expensive. Way nicer then the photos. Amazing
anthony : not a horrible purchase
its decent I used it to net some catfish but it would be so much better if it was made from aluminum the plastic feels cheap
K R : Good net!
Folds to a compact size, lightweight and string enough for my needs.
Kevin : Nice folding net

I definitely recommend this product as it’s compact, folds easily and the rubber coated net seems pretty good.
Lady : Not good durability
We’ve had this net for two months, used it a good amount but it’s already coming apart. Disappointed in the craftmanship.
Amazon Customer : Great product
Perfect for trout fishing! We weren’t sure how this would work with the small little treble hooks but it was great! The price is right too!
K. A. : not great quality - handle detached quickly
the telescope handle is poorly made, detached itself after 2nd use, did not extend very far and maybe I should have read description better, but overall disappointing.

India : Good quality
Actually floats solid fishing net
K R : Good net!
Folds to a compact size, lightweight and string enough for my needs.
Phil : Is what it is
Cheap and short
PP : Good quality net. Doesn’t come with case.
Out of the box, this appears to be good quality and worth the price. I’m very happy with the purchase. I haven’t used it yet though. One thing I wish it came with was a carrying case with a shoulder strap. Would make the walks from car to fishing spot a lot easier. I’m worried the net is constantly going to get tangled up with my fishing gear or caught on something. I guess I’ll use some Velcro straps to keep the net in place when it’s collapsed.
DnR Wines : Not good for treble hooks
It was supposed to come with rubber coated mesh to prevent hook hang ups, it was instead a cotton mesh that fouled the hooks. Did not like it at all.
Phil : Is what it is
Cheap and short
