Answer: Not sure about the 3000 , I have three 2000 using 4 pound test to crappie fish with ample line capacity
Answer: If you are using Braided line you can use 300 + yards of line .
Answer: Mono:11lb/195ydsBraid:25lb/290yds. Hope it could help you.

Q:
Is it good for bass
Answer: I don't see why not. Although you may want to go with a smaller size. I got the 5000, and I use it for fresh and salt water fishing. Answer: Yes you could run 8lb test. For sure braid would work.

Answer: I believe it's in the product description. I used 6# braid and it held enough for my needs.
Answer: Floralcarbon 6# test.
Q:
Can i use this for 40lb catfish ?
Answer: I would choose a larger reel than the 2000. But, I have never caught a 40 lb. catfish. Pole and line would have much to do with the leverage. Reel would have the strength, but a person would need to work the return hard with a smaller reel...
Answer: Yes. I use the reel for brackish water fishing, and have caught 40+ lbs sharks on it.
Answer: In open water yes,but you will need to play a cat that big.
Answer: I'm pretty sure you can as long as you know how to properly fight a monster like that.
Q:
why the 3000 is so small I compared to a penn 3000 and is way smaller btw. i got two of this reels and I'm tinking and upgrade to a 4000
Answer: I Have the 2000, and am Very Pleased with the Build Quality, Smoothness, and Size. Reel Sizes Are Different, Depending on the Brand. Size of Reels Are Personal Preference and Use. I Would Definitely Buy Piscifun Again! Very Good Quality, Price, and Company.

Q:
Is the 4000 good for salmon fishing

Product reviews of Piscifun Flame Spinning Reels Light Weight Ultra Smooth Powerful Spinning Fishing Reels Red & Blue
Timmy Toast : Great Budget Reel!
What can I say? This is another great reel from Piscifun. I have 10-11 reels from them now and this one is just as good as the others. I bought this reel based on other reviews and also based on my own experience with my other Piscifun reels.
Despite the low cost, it is a killer reel! Casts far, retrieves smoothly, and has the drag power I need. I use this reel for bass, Crappie, catfish, trout, and panfish.
The reel looks good on any of my rods I put it on and gets lots of compliments from my fishing buddies and strangers on the water as well.
I have caught lots of bass on it already as well as a few trout and it worked flawlessly every time. I am looking forward to getting out with it again soon and catching more fish. I definitely recommend you get one of these reels to try for yourself!
Gambit13 : Worth the money
The only review you need to read.
This is for freshwater review. NOT FOR SALTWATER!!!
These are amazing reels for the price. For anyone who is starting out or is avid fishermen. I been using these 4 to 5 times a week on the biggest lake in PNW. I fish Lake Washington. With 30 different types of fish. And different sizes and weight. With great success.
I currently own 3 of these Piscifun Flame reels. On 3 different setups, from pan fish to large mouth and cat fish. My setups are all less then $60 including the line I put on the reel.
I I get the smooth cast everytime. From my 5" to 7" pole. Using all size lures and just to a split shot and bober set up for some panfish. You wont be disappointed in this reel.
This isn't your cheap plastic walmart reel or reel and combo, you get at walmart. This reel does compete with the Penn or even other high end reels. But for a more affordable price tag. I have mine for a year now. And still cast smooth like day one. I don't keep up with the oiling and other maintenance, becuase I wanted to see how long it will last with neglect, also less $30 I can buy a new one if needed to be. So far over a year of use. And still going strong. I will recommend this to any fresh water fisherman or fisherman. It's a great reel for the beginner or the advance. Would I use this for a bass competition, probably. Lol.
So here my setup for pan fish and basic bass fishing. If you are new to fishing or just wanting a nice cheap freshwater setup.
Panfish - Bluegill, sunfish, pumpkin seeds, perch, white or black crappie, etc.
I use a shakespeare micro series rod. This is my 5" rod. Ultra light. Great to feel even the smallest bites.
Around $20 on amazon.
Bigger fish - Trout, Bass, Walleye, etc.
Berkley Cherry Wood HD
This is a full wood rod. Coming in around 6'6 and also a 7" rod. Medium/heavy. Now before you say why would you want a Medium/heavy for trout or even walleye.
This has a tip of a light rod (meaning you can fill small bites), but the back bone of a heavy rod. I pulled 13lbs fish in on 8lbs test thanks to this rod.
This is like the name says. Made of cherry wood, so the tip is easily breakable. But wont break from weight of bigger fish. It's great rod. I been using them for 15+ years now. And own multiple sizes.
Around $20 on amazon.
I use berkely invisible line on all my reels. Just personal choice.
Frank DeRosa : Swing and another miss for Pisifun.
Love my Piscifun tackle bag, but this Piscifun 2000 Flame Spinning Reel's anti-reverse is hit and miss out of the box. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. Better to find out it's a piece of junk now than like the Piscifun Storm 4000 I purchased, (and returned), that locked up during a fishing trip. You do make a fantastic tackle bag for kayakers though.
Richie Wilson : Awesome spinning reel!!!
The flame is awesome!!! The reel is beautifully designed and fishes amazingly. The gear ratio is perfect to use as a drop shot reel and lots of other finesse type fishing. The drag works great and does well against both largemouth and smallmouth. It has a huge spool to hold about any size line you want. The casting is smooth and will cast long distances with ease. This reel overall is a top tier reel in my opinion. I now own two of these reels to use for river fishing and finesse in the lakes!!!
Miguel71 : Great spinning reel for the price
I bought the Piscifun Flame 3000 spinning reel and it is a great reel for the price. It cast and retrieves smooth. The 3000 reel is perfect for catfishing and I can't wait to use it this spring. For $25 bucks this reel performs very well. I highly recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive spinning reel. Good job Piscifun
Robert D. : Awesome Reel for the money
I purchased the 3000 model for a cheap 6 foot 8 inch telescopic rod. While the rod was better than I thought it would be, this reel made it much better. The casting and smoothness of this reel is fantastic. I was looking at another model and this reel performed better for less money. I am planning on buying another for a Medium Heavy rod. Every review is subject to that persons feeling about that item. So I can only say, give it a chance. You will not be sorry. 5** rating is well deserved.
Timmy Toast : Great Budget Reel!
What can I say? This is another great reel from Piscifun. I have 10-11 reels from them now and this one is just as good as the others. I bought this reel based on other reviews and also based on my own experience with my other Piscifun reels.

Apex_bankfishing : Best reel for this price hands down
Theres so many great reviews already its hard to know where to begin. I've used this reel for EVERYTHING from bass fishing with 6lb braid to pan fishing with 2lb mono and even the ultimate test channel catfish with 12lb braid needless to say this reel excels in every aspect great casting, braid ready, and smooth as a babys bottom I would with out a doubt reccomend this and believe it can go above and beyond the specs listed
C. Simpson : Ultimately worked out
I use this for saltwater and I rinse it thoroughly with fresh water after each use and it started to cease after maybe 4-5 outings. After disassembling it to lube it, I saw some rusty components. Surprising to see in a reel. Why not stainless or aluminum?
Update: the company contacted me directly and ultimately made things right. They explained that the flame reel isn’t for saltwater and I ultimately paid the incremental cost to upgrade to a salt reel. I’ve only used that once so I don’t have any input yet but fingers crossed. They seem like a good company and they look at their reviews. Thank you.
Daniela Sadach : Don't Hesitate.
I was looking for a new, lighter, decent reel trout season. I was skeptical at first because of the price. A decent reel for under $30 bucks? But after reading other's reviews and figuring why not, I went ahead and bought the reel. I matched it up with my Ultra Light GX2 rod, strung it up with ten-pound braid, to six-pound fluorocarbon, and took her out the next morning. This reel performed way better than I expected. It was lightweight, easy to reel, and can cast a country mile with little weight on the rod. I am not going to compare this reel to others because each one performs differently but all I can say is you will be happy with your purchase. My nine year old wanted me to give my whole rig to him becasue it was so light and easy for him to use as well.
Tom de : Tried it and liked it
I have to admit I fish a lot and had not heard of Piscifun before. I decided to give it a try due to the low price and it has been GREAT! Works all the time, easy to load line onto, and never gets tangled.
Amazon Customer : Great Value Reel
This is the second time that I bought this reel. It works really well with my ultra light setup that use for trout, panfish and the occasional catfish. The reel is light weight. I have been using the first one for about a year and had no issues. It still runs pretty smooth as long as you take care if it. The second reel that I bought will be used for my spare rod. I might try it out for saltwater fishing as well.
Marty S. : Pleasantly surprised!
Put this on my 9 foot salmon/steelhead ugly stik elite as the steelhead run here is in full swing. I was pleasantly surprised that it has held up to not only the elements but also being able to handle numerous steelhead. Very strong and athletic fish that RIP your drag. Can't beat this durability for the price that's for sure. I have always been a Shimano reel guy but have been tired of spending hundreds for them to break after a year or 2. So I have been giving cheaper priced reels a chance because I look at it like I can buy five of these to one of those and last longer even if they did break after a year. Great job on the reel and the affordability is insane. Will buy more in the future.
P & D : Way sturdier and smoother than cheap brand name reels.
The reel is very smooth and seems to be sturdy. The drag is consistent and works good.
T. Connolly : I now own 3 of these
These are awesome little inexpensive, but not cheap reels. I got them to replace the reels that came on the Zebco Dock Demon, Zebco Dock Demon Deluxe and Ugly Stick Dock Runner which were basically plastic. These are MUCH smoother and feel more like "real" fishing reels. The original dock rods came with really cheap 6 lb mono but now I have them all loaded with 150 yards of 10 pound braid. The rods cost 15 bucks each and the Piscifun reels were $23 and figure $15 for the braid, so for around $53 you get fishing poles kids can learn to fish on that actually work instaed of that plastic Disney stuff.
Ryan : Nice cheap reel.
Needed a cheap real in a hurry after finding my old real had seized up (my own fault hadn't thoroughly cleaned it after salt water fishing). This real did not disappoint. While it's not the absolute smoothest reel, it gets the job done. Had no problem reeling in a 2 foot long shark, and countless blue fish. If you are one who only fishes accationaly and need a decent real on the cheap this is a good choice.
I definitely recommend you get one of these reels to try for yourself!
ale : upon opening and testing reel would get stuck while reeling
reel looks nice and initially, like first several turns of the handle, was nice and smooth. Then I took the drag knob off to take a look underneath the spool and put it back on. I was met with resistance after a few turns of the handle. I thought maybe I tightened the handle knob a little too tight so I loosened it up but still the same. A reel should slow down slowly if you do a quick turn of the handle, not put on the breaks like there was a drag system slowing down the reeling. I've attached a quick video...watch the end of the 8 second video and you will see the abrupt stoppage of the reeling action. too bad because I have 2 other Piscifun reels, an Alloy M and Alijos 300 baitcasters and they've been good so far.
Jut : Got 3 of them
Bought one of these for my 4 year old, who has been really getting into fishing. He learned on a cheapie pretty early and can do everything on his own. He is now 5, has had barely any loops or tangles, has landed pike and bass with no problems, super smooth drag...I have since ordered 2 more to add to his and my arsenal. I've never paid top dollar for gear and have always had realistic expectations. This reel has exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds.
Jimsr : Very Nice Spinning Reel
I just happened to be browsing Amazon when I came acress this fissing reel. It looked interesting abd tge price was right. I am pleased with the reel. I had intended to give a review sooner, but due to circumstances beyond my control that trip was cancelled and the trip was rescheduled to this past week. This is a very nice reall. the action is very silent and smooth. the only complaint and the reason for the 4 stars is the it takes a bit of effort to resent the bail to reset the bail after casting the line. if you reset the bail manually, there is not problem. My other minor criticism is that the drag is somewhat finicky to set to the right level. it can be done, but it takes a few very fine adjustments.. Would i buy it again? Yes. Its a very good reel for the money.
Just a shopper with wants. : Perfect Reel for the Perfect price!
Ordered product yesterday, received it today. It feels as if it is constructed of quality material, other than it being heavier(feels it's all aluminum) than the Shakespeare, I have no complaints. I put it on my UGLY Stick Dock Runner, and I have to say it works better than the Shakespeare and has a GREAT drag. Its smooth and for a $20 reel it already out performs my stock reel. I have 15lb power pro braid and it sucked it up REALLY quick(braid ready).
Because bass, walleye and Northerner are out of season, this is perfect for my pan fish rod. I got stuck MULTIPLE times on driftwood and rocks jigging and the drag held up. This is a one time use so far, but its FRIGGEN PERFECT for this application. Highly recommend it.
For $20 it had a GREAT feel and action. I currently own a Daiwa Fuego3000 and Shimano Sahara 3000, but I dont doubt this will fail you for some bigger fish. Happy fishing, you WONT regret.
Liberty76 : Great Value - As good as reels costing 2-4X
The Flame is a terrific value for the money. Don't bother with high-priced reels. The workmanship and operation is on par with the best spinning reels I've tried.
Eric R. Whitlow : Great with one big issue.
Very smooth with good line lay. One issue and it is a big one. Either the bail is too big or the reel seat stem is too short. No matter how I hold my rod the bail bangs into my knuckles. I have average hands. May be a great reel for kids or people with tiny hands.
Adam : Great value spinning reel!
An absolute fantastic reel for the money! This is my second Flame 3000 & both work flawlessly! Very smooth casting & drag system. I use them both in salt & freshwater. After saltwater use, I give them a light spray of water to knock off any sand from them.

Brandon : What a great reel
Quality made and great feeling reel. I was a little sceptical when I ordered it but for the price I figured what the heck. So far it has been a great reel. Smooth as glass and casts great. I have more expensive reels but i find myself reaching this one most frequently. I will definitely purchase again.
I now own two of these reels to use for river fishing and finesse in the lakes!!!
toberkins : My husband really likes this spinning reel with all the ball bearings it has
My husband decided to take a chance on this inexpensive spinning reel, even though he had never heard of the brand before. Being disappointed with some of the "name brand" reels in the past, he gave it a chance. He is very happy with his purchase.
Amazon Customer : Buy this reel! It's fantastic!
Recently received my reel from Piscifun and love it. Here are some reasons why: The reel is light, but feels strong and sturdy when you hook a fish. I like how it allows you to fight a fish with the confidence that the reel won't let you down. Other, more expensive, reels I have used in the past have failed when fighting a fish. The flame is a genuine bargain for the money. The reel replaced by the Flame was easily 4x as expensive. My old reel wasn't as smooth on rewind or when adjusting the drag mid fight. The most important thing for me is to treat the fish as humanely as possible. The rainbows I catch are all wild. I'm a huge believer in catch and release. The Flame helps me land these fish quickly, but with a fun fight, and back in the river as soon as soon as possible. I think potential buyers should look at the technical specs between the Flame and other reels. The value and quality for your dollars is unmatched. I'd put the piscifun up against any other trout reel currently on the market. If your $200+ reel can out fish the piscifun, good luck to you because it isn't going to happen. Finally, I love the way the reel looks! It just looks great seated on the pole. A minor detail, but having something that gives you confidence and looks great is a huge plus. The flame is a huge value. When looking for a top quality reel at an unbelievable price buy the Flame. Use the extra money for lures or line. I plan on using the savings to buy a 5000 size for use on the Oregon coast. Truly tough conditions for fishing gear, but I have massive confidence in Piscifun because of the Flame. Buy this reel. It's simply fantastic!
Amazon Customer : Very Nice and would buy again
I run Penn reels 1-2500, 2-3000, 2-4000, 2-5000 and 1 6000. I bought 2 of these specifically for sabiki fishing and are rigged up for that purpose on every trip. These reels could easily go up against my Penn 4000s. They are on the smaller side but are smooth as silk, strong, light and quality built. If your an inshore fisherman, you can throw these all day on a light spinning rod and not tire out. With the right rod you can handle most inshore and smaller offshore fish.
Emmanuele Codega : Good value for the money
For what you pay for, it is a good spinning reel. Compared to other reels that I have, it might not be as smooth as they are, but it cost a fraction of what I have paid the others. The construction material is decent, the handle arm crank is not extremely strong, so you need to make sure you do not drop it too often.
G : Great real smooth and long cast
I purchase this real because I didn't want to use my expensive reals in the kayak, don't let was 6 lb braided line and the other was 65 lb braided line and both are very enjoyable casting long-distance and smooth on the retrieval
Duke : Mine was defective!
The reel is pretty smooth. I used it for the first time this past weekend and the bail spins backwards sometimes by itself. It casts well and it would be a fine product if it didn’t do that. I’m not sure if the manufacturer will make this right or not. I like the reel but I wonder did I receive one that was defective or is this flaw present with all reels like this.
Al G : Used it one and reel won't spin
I bought two of these reels as it got raving reviews(2000 & 3000). One for my son and one for my daughter. We used it once, I even rinsed and cleaned it afterward, as I always do in taking care of my fishing equipment. Two weeks later, the reels are stuck solid. They won't turn no matter what I do. I took it apart and nothing. Should of stuck and paid more with a reputable brand named reel. DON'T BUY. Unfortunately, I've gone passed the return table so I can't even return.
Brandon : What a great reel

A. Wodz : Reel lost the smooth after a single day fishing.
I got this gorgeous looking reel a few months ago and finally took it in its maided trip. Everything was smooth at the beginning. A long day fishing and plenty of fish caught that day. Get home, a quick rinse off to get any crud off like I usually my do all my reels, and leave to dry. The following morning the reel was no longer smooth and well on its way to seize up. Maybe I got a lemon or maybe the grease/oil in this thing is crappy quality that can't last a few months sitting in its own box. This is actually the second Piscifun reel that craps out on my like this. Even cheapo reel/rod combos from Walmart have lasted me years. Needless to say I think I will avoid Piscifun reels.
Shane Weigand : Smooth and works great
I bought this reel for my little ultralight rod. Love it. It is the only Pisifun reel that I have not had to return, do to breaking. This reel has been smooth as silk, and I really love it a lot. I hope it lasts. (I have returned three Piscifun reels in the past). Time will tell. So far this reel has been great! Super value for my money so far.
P & D : Way sturdier and smoother than cheap brand name reels.
The reel is very smooth and seems to be sturdy. The drag is consistent and works good.
Kyle Woods : Great Budget Reel
I have two of these 3000 reels and I plan on buying a 2000 for my ultra light rod setup. These reels are so smooth and look very nice. I've gotten compliments from other trout fisherman at fishing docks with this reel. In my opinion, this is one of the best budget brands and models. Very affordable and they perform like a higher end reel, just take care of it like any other. Highly recommend.
Walter GA : Nice reel!
I'm using with 40# braded line tied directly to the spool. Very smooth reel. Super quality for the price.
toberkins : My husband really likes this spinning reel with all the ball bearings it has
My husband decided to take a chance on this inexpensive spinning reel, even though he had never heard of the brand before. Being disappointed with some of the "name brand" reels in the past, he gave it a chance. He is very happy with his purchase.
JNPDX : Super Fine Reels for the Money
I expected fine reels from Piscifun for the money and that is what I got. I debated ordering the 2000 or 3000 models. I ordered the 2000s and found the spool diameters a little small. The next two I order will be 3000s. Either way these reels are so inexpensive you can't go wrong.

E Pluribus Unum : What's with the oversize bail that hits your rod fingers when you turn the crank?
I am extremely disappointed. I ordered two of these reels based on the reviews. Got them today and slapped one on my new rod. As soon as I started cranking the bail hit the middle fingers of my hand that was holding the rod. No reel I have ever had does this. The bail is HUGE compared to the rest of the reel and compared to other reels I have. Unless you have paper-thin fingers I would strongly recommend avoiding this reel. The reels are pretty useless to me because of this bail issue.
Mark D Bell : I've Purchased Three of These Reels -- Won't Buy Anything Else
What can I say, but these are the best reels for the price. A friend of mine bought a Shimano, a highly-rated reel, and the Piscifun, in my opinion, feels smoother and as well-built as the Shimano. You don't have to add mono or tape to spool the reel with a braided line, since it designed to handle it with no problem. I spooled my friend's Shimano with braided line but had to add tape so the line wouldn't slip. I wouldn't recommend another reel.
