Answer: Yes, it is more than adequate. But you should probably look for something way smaller and lighter for that kind of rod unless you plan to interchange the reel to a longer medium rod on occasion.

Q:
What is the best for 6 foot 6 inches rod
Answer: I have the 3000 on a 7' with 6 lb line and love it long cast. I'm sure 6'6 would be just fine unless your going very light weight may want to go to 2000 I use 3000 with drop shot or shaky head fishing.
Q:

How is this reels anti-reverse? Instant? Any play?
Answer: Anti-reverse works very well. Just a flick of the lever. The drag is very smooth. This reel provides great value for the money. I have the 3000 Flame attached to an Ugly Stick light action 6'6" rod for trout, bass, and panfish. Just ordered the Flame 4000 and an Ugly Stick medium action 6'6" rod for catfishing at the local river.

Answer: Works perfectly fine
Q:
what is the line capcity on the flame 3000
Answer: Not sure about the 3000 , I have three 2000 using 4 pound test to crappie fish with ample line capacity
Answer: If you are using Braided line you can use 300 + yards of line .
Answer: Mono:11lb/195ydsBraid:25lb/290yds. Hope it could help you.
Answer: The answer in the description to take a guess 4lb 200yrd 6lb. 175yrds and 8lb 135yrds 10lb 110yrds that my guess and I feel confident that's it if not close again it's in the description

Answer: I use spider wire sorry.
Q:
Is it good for bass
Answer: I don't see why not. Although you may want to go with a smaller size. I got the 5000, and I use it for fresh and salt water fishing. I got the bigger size for striped bass, blues, and cat fish. But I've caught large mouths, porgy, sea bass, and plenty of white perch on it too. I've got the 5000 spooled with 15 lb mono.
Answer: I fish trout hard & then when it gets too hot I will fish for bass. It would be good for bass but a little undersized unless you enjoy ultralight reels for bass.

Answer: No, I just put 6lb test on my 2000 and its working wonderful.
Answer: I’ve loaded 15 lb braided on my 2000 with no problems.
Answer: Yes you could run 8lb test. For sure braid would work.

Answer: I believe it's in the product description. I used 6# braid and it held enough for my needs.
Answer: Floralcarbon 6# test.
Q:
Can i use this for 40lb catfish ?
Answer: I would choose a larger reel than the 2000. But, I have never caught a 40 lb. catfish. Pole and line would have much to do with the leverage. Reel would have the strength, but a person would need to work the return hard with a smaller reel...
Answer: Yes. I use the reel for brackish water fishing, and have caught 40+ lbs sharks on it.
Answer: In open water yes,but you will need to play a cat that big.
Answer: I'm pretty sure you can as long as you know how to properly fight a monster like that.
Q:
why the 3000 is so small I compared to a penn 3000 and is way smaller btw. i got two of this reels and I'm tinking and upgrade to a 4000
Answer: I Have the 2000, and am Very Pleased with the Build Quality, Smoothness, and Size. Reel Sizes Are Different, Depending on the Brand. Size of Reels Are Personal Preference and Use. I Would Definitely Buy Piscifun Again! Very Good Quality, Price, and Company.

Q:

Product reviews of Piscifun Flame Spinning Reels Light Weight Ultra Smooth Powerful Spinning Fishing Reels Red & Blue
Tom de : Tried it and liked it
I have to admit I fish a lot and had not heard of Piscifun before. I decided to give it a try due to the low price and it has been GREAT! Works all the time, easy to load line onto, and never gets tangled.
Brian Ondrejka : The Flame is...Flame!
Another home run from Piscifun, a 22.99 one at that. 8.5 oz, 13 lbs of drag, and a 10 ball bearing system. I was able to test all of this on one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish in Kansas, the Hybrid Striped Bass. Drag systems are key for me because this fish takes hard runs and lots of them. The Flame never missed a beat. Silky smooth, no sticky drag. Weight is key also because our techniques cause most to get fatigued quick, but at 8.5 oz. it’s of no issue. It’s also a dang fine looking reel too. Thanks for another quality and affordable product!
WYCowboy55 : Great Product & fast shipping
This is a great reel, came as described, and showed up fast.
Emmanuele Codega : Good value for the money
For what you pay for, it is a good spinning reel. Compared to other reels that I have, it might not be as smooth as they are, but it cost a fraction of what I have paid the others. The construction material is decent, the handle arm crank is not extremely strong, so you need to make sure you do not drop it too often.
Apex_bankfishing : Best reel for this price hands down
Theres so many great reviews already its hard to know where to begin. I've used this reel for EVERYTHING from bass fishing with 6lb braid to pan fishing with 2lb mono and even the ultimate test channel catfish with 12lb braid needless to say this reel excels in every aspect great casting, braid ready, and smooth as a babys bottom I would with out a doubt reccomend this and believe it can go above and beyond the specs listed
dperry : Only had it 6 months
Since everything on the handle is plastic, while reeling a decent sized fish in the plastic handle cracked. It's built to be able to fold up to be compact but the is a weak point. Can't return it because it's past the "return window". If the part is made stronger it would be a solid reel. Caught a lot of bass, dropped it in the water a few times, bearing and all that are great. Just the handle design
Jut : Got 3 of them
Bought one of these for my 4 year old, who has been really getting into fishing. He learned on a cheapie pretty early and can do everything on his own. He is now 5, has had barely any loops or tangles, has landed pike and bass with no problems, super smooth drag...I have since ordered 2 more to add to his and my arsenal. I've never paid top dollar for gear and have always had realistic expectations. This reel has exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds.
Scott Dunbar : Alright, let's be honest, this isn't a Penn Fierce III, but for the money, it's pretty darned good
This reel lasted me almost 2 full seasons, unfortunately, the salt took her this year. This reel is NOT a splasher or dunker to be clear.
I could probably fix it as it's just the main bearings, which are unsealed that need to be replaced, but Piscifun has been more than useless at answering my question if I can buy a simple bearing replacement kit from them. The other internals are about what you would expect at this level, and I honestly have NO clue how they are getting away with saying that there are NINE ball bearings, that is a flat out lie. There are THREE ball bearings in this real. There may be one in the riveted crank arm, but internally there are three.
When it did work, it was fine. Mostly just for the sheer fact that for it being so cheap, and it performs so well, if I killed it, it wouldn't be the end of the world. To be fair, I've had Diawa cheepo combos for $19 that were better than this, including shielded bearings.
Would I buy it again? Probably not. It filled a hole in my arsenal at the time but if I have to replace these every few years, it's most likely worth the investment to get a sealed reel. If you fish freshwater, then it's most likely less of a concern.
Christina H : Great affordable reel
Used the Flame 2000 for the first time today. I’m always nervous about using new reels and used to be a strict Pfleuger user. The Flame has changed my opinion 100%. Fishing from a kayak I need a smaller, lighter, and more compact reel. The Flame is both the perfect size for me and accommodating for the bass and pike I fish for. (I use a light weight rod, 6 lb fireline and throw primarily plastics). From my first to last cast today, this reel was a champ. VERY smooth line let-out and line retrieval. No noise or vibrations while casting or reeling. When the bigger fish started to throw their weight around, the drag was smooth and worked flawlessly! This reel is visually appealing, lightweight and durable! I’m newer at fishing so it makes me somewhat nervous using reels I’m not familiar with but the Flame immediately took away my hesitations. I would highly recommend this reel for both individuals who may be new or established with fishing. It is a “user forgiving” reel and can be depended on when hooking into a good fish!!! The best part is, ITS AFFORDABLE! You’re getting a quality built reel for minimal cost! I will be buying a couple more for my ice fishing ventures as well! Very very happy with my purchase of the Flame! I HIGHLY recommend it!
M. Sturm : Awesome little reel
I love this little spinning reel Nice and smooth. I caught a nice size large mouth bass the other day while reeling it in a Seven foot alligator ate the bass. Twenty minutes later I was able to get the gator to the boat and get my lure off his mouth. During the fight the drag was flawless the gator made several hard runs and a lot of thrashing the real handled all the action.
sarah : Affordable and reliable!
This reel! Where do I begin! If you want something affordable and reliable this is it! It’s visually appealing and light weight but don’t let that fool you, if it can handle the explosion and fight of smallies it can handle anything! This reel is very smooth from line out to line retrieve and the drag is flawless! Highly recommend the Flame!
alex c. : Looks great and works great !!!! ????
Got this in today and went to break it in. I wanted a light setup and got the 2000 model it has a super smooth casting amd retrieval i have a KastKing Centron 3000 and i could say its the same thing with different name and for a fraction of the price. Definately recommend cant wait to see how it handles a bigger fish
Ryan : Nice cheap reel.
Needed a cheap real in a hurry after finding my old real had seized up (my own fault hadn't thoroughly cleaned it after salt water fishing). This real did not disappoint. While it's not the absolute smoothest reel, it gets the job done. Had no problem reeling in a 2 foot long shark, and countless blue fish. If you are one who only fishes accationaly and need a decent real on the cheap this is a good choice.
Pogi : So far so good
I like everything about it so far, but only time will tell on its durability. It's a bit bigger and heavier for what I was expecting for a 2000, but for $20 this is a great deal.
There's a storm heading my way so I can't really fish until it passes. I'll write more once I'm able to fish again
Shane Weigand : Smooth and works great
I bought this reel for my little ultralight rod. Love it. It is the only Pisifun reel that I have not had to return, do to breaking. This reel has been smooth as silk, and I really love it a lot. I hope it lasts. (I have returned three Piscifun reels in the past). Time will tell. So far this reel has been great! Super value for my money so far.
Bruce Fryda : Smooth
Reel is very smooth with a good spring in the bail. Excellent value.
toberkins : My husband really likes this spinning reel with all the ball bearings it has
My husband decided to take a chance on this inexpensive spinning reel, even though he had never heard of the brand before. Being disappointed with some of the "name brand" reels in the past, he gave it a chance. He is very happy with his purchase.
Cool98wrets : Quality product at a good price.
This has been one of the best reels I have ordered in a long time. I.bought it to go brackishwater fishing, figuring with the price so low, if it broke I would not be out but $27. However, much to my surprise, I have found I really like this reel. The reel itself casts extremely smooth. Even after using it is brackish water, with a good rinse and oil in the appropiate place, I have strarted using it for bass. I might be replacing some old reels soon.
Josh : Solid reel. Does what it should.
I've taken this reel out a couple of times now, and it is a solid reel, especially for the price. Of course it's not the absolute best reel on the market, but you pay a lot more if that's what you are looking for. It reels line in smoothly, and the drag settings are good. I'm confident it'll do the job with any bass I run into in Florida.
ale : upon opening and testing reel would get stuck while reeling
reel looks nice and initially, like first several turns of the handle, was nice and smooth. Then I took the drag knob off to take a look underneath the spool and put it back on. I was met with resistance after a few turns of the handle. I thought maybe I tightened the handle knob a little too tight so I loosened it up but still the same. A reel should slow down slowly if you do a quick turn of the handle, not put on the breaks like there was a drag system slowing down the reeling. I've attached a quick video...watch the end of the 8 second video and you will see the abrupt stoppage of the reeling action. too bad because I have 2 other Piscifun reels, an Alloy M and Alijos 300 baitcasters and they've been good so far.
CrimsonDobey25 : Good Quality for a great price!
UPDATE- Went out and slayed some trout on the reel, smooth retrieve, felt awesome in my hand, awesome fight, loved it, will purchase and recommend!
Got the 3000 series reel. Got it in yesterday. Very well built. Feels super nice. Will be taking it out for a spin this weekend. Will update after it's slayed some fish!
Kirk Palmer : The Piscifun 2000 Flame Reel is hot...
Bought this reel based on some research from You Tube. I bought it as an intermediate Trout set up, pairing it with a Berkley Cherrywood rod. Since getting this reel two weeks ago, I've caught 12 Trout, approximately 35 Panfish and several small Bass with my new set up... The reel is very smooth and looks good. Its fit and finish are above average and the drag is easy to set. The bail arm has some play in it and I'm not sure it wasn't designed to be that way. Nonetheless there have been zero issues with the reel. I did have a couple of "birds nests"; however, I think that was my fault and not the reel's. I'm using KastKing Fluorokote 6lb line and it works great. I landed a 1.5 pound Rainbow Trout without issue on my initial trip using this reel. Overall, for the price paid, this is a superior product. It earns a 5 on aesthetic appearance, a 4 on durability, a 4 on ease of use, a 4 on overall quality... Since buying this Piscifun Flame Reel, I have became a big fan of Piscifun products and ordered a second Piscifun Reel 4 days ago... As long as things keep going as they have been with Piscifun products, I will be a using Piscifun Reels exclusively...
Amazon Customer : Buy this reel! It's fantastic!
Recently received my reel from Piscifun and love it. Here are some reasons why: The reel is light, but feels strong and sturdy when you hook a fish. I like how it allows you to fight a fish with the confidence that the reel won't let you down. Other, more expensive, reels I have used in the past have failed when fighting a fish. The flame is a genuine bargain for the money. The reel replaced by the Flame was easily 4x as expensive. My old reel wasn't as smooth on rewind or when adjusting the drag mid fight. The most important thing for me is to treat the fish as humanely as possible. The rainbows I catch are all wild. I'm a huge believer in catch and release. The Flame helps me land these fish quickly, but with a fun fight, and back in the river as soon as soon as possible. I think potential buyers should look at the technical specs between the Flame and other reels. The value and quality for your dollars is unmatched. I'd put the piscifun up against any other trout reel currently on the market. If your $200+ reel can out fish the piscifun, good luck to you because it isn't going to happen. Finally, I love the way the reel looks! It just looks great seated on the pole. A minor detail, but having something that gives you confidence and looks great is a huge plus. The flame is a huge value. When looking for a top quality reel at an unbelievable price buy the Flame. Use the extra money for lures or line. I plan on using the savings to buy a 5000 size for use on the Oregon coast. Truly tough conditions for fishing gear, but I have massive confidence in Piscifun because of the Flame. Buy this reel. It's simply fantastic!
Mark D Bell : I've Purchased Three of These Reels -- Won't Buy Anything Else
What can I say, but these are the best reels for the price. A friend of mine bought a Shimano, a highly-rated reel, and the Piscifun, in my opinion, feels smoother and as well-built as the Shimano. You don't have to add mono or tape to spool the reel with a braided line, since it designed to handle it with no problem. I spooled my friend's Shimano with braided line but had to add tape so the line wouldn't slip. I wouldn't recommend another reel.

Annette B. : Great Reel!!
I just say I was skeptical and normally lean towards Penn reels. Watched a few utube videos and said what the heck..So glad I did! This feel is amazing and so is the price! Smooth and steady she reels just as good, if not better, than my more expensive ones. Absolutely in love will be replacing a few more reels! Great quality way to go Piscifun!!
Samantha B. : I bought another already, that says it all
This thing is awesome! I bought one for myself and love it, then I let my dad use it and he loved it - so I bought one for him too.
Easily competes with Abu Garcia or Pflueger and other well known companies, and at this price range - wins overall for performance and value.
Built sturdy, can handle a drop and feels good on the hands. Reels retrieve is like butter, and the drag is super smooth too. Casts like a dream, even using light tackle, and handles a heavy set up well too - from 1/32 OZ ned rigs to 1 OZ Spinner baits.
One season down and hundreds of fish later this thing has become one of my go to reels, as well as another Piscifun reel I grabbed for my casting set up.
Jake : Very smooth, very reliable, not exactly lightweight or small though.
***UPDATE*** My first review was 5 stars. I liked the reel so much that I recently bought a 2nd, and I can see the quality has gone downhill since my first purchase. Ordered a 2nd identical reel last week and there was about 1/16” of slop/play in the handle which can be felt in the gears and bail. It sounds minor but you don’t want that free play while you’re reeling in. The first one I bought does not have this at all. I ordered a replacement and it does the exact same thing. Still a good reel for the money but obviously something has changed so I will look elsewhere.
I've used this reel on about 5 fishing trips now and I am blown away at the quality. I've bought $40-$80 reels in the past and this one outperforms them. My only complaint is that it's a little on the heavier side- even though its advertised as small and lightweight, and I wish the handle was a little smaller. I got the 2000 series thinking it was going to be a small reel. But I still have to give it 5 stars. Highly recommend!
Miguel71 : Great spinning reel for the price
I bought the Piscifun Flame 3000 spinning reel and it is a great reel for the price. It cast and retrieves smooth. The 3000 reel is perfect for catfishing and I can't wait to use it this spring. For $25 bucks this reel performs very well. I highly recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive spinning reel. Good job Piscifun
JNPDX : Super Fine Reels for the Money
I expected fine reels from Piscifun for the money and that is what I got. I debated ordering the 2000 or 3000 models. I ordered the 2000s and found the spool diameters a little small. The next two I order will be 3000s. Either way these reels are so inexpensive you can't go wrong.
CrimsonDobey25 : Good Quality for a great price!
UPDATE- Went out and slayed some trout on the reel, smooth retrieve, felt awesome in my hand, awesome fight, loved it, will purchase and recommend!

Amazon Customer buffgeekbilbo : Nice for price
Not a bad looking Reel for the price! It comes with a detailed owners manual which is a tremendous help. Only down side in this Reel is it's really tough to set the bail when you crank, it's also picky about how far the Reel has turned before it locks as you can see in the video. Despite that I'm looking forward to testing it out.
Josh Rose : Piscifun has done it again!!
Picked up two of these reels, super impressive! This reel is incredibly smooth, the drag is not rough at all, and the reel can cast a country mile! When you put line on the spool it lines up perfectly, and being it is a braid ready spool is also Excellent. I like the fact that I don’t have to have two different lines in the boat for one being the backer. And on top of it the 5.2:1 Gear ratio it is a perfect all around ratio. I also love the fact that the reel has a full graphite body making it very light and a reel you can cast all day. I have a 2000 and a 3000 series, on the 3000 series I’m using it for a drop shot and it works phenomenal! For the 2000 series I’m skipping docks with it using a senko on a flick it jig, and they work for Awesome for both techniques. But the reel is definitely not limited to only these techniques, I also like the fact that it has the back reeling capability For when you pull in the big pigs, you can back reel them if need be, I also really like the look of the reel with the Matte black finish and the metallic red, very sharp looking, Piscifun has really stepped up to bring us an amazing product at an extremely affordable price, and The best part is, it’s still a high-quality reel! As a Tournament angler I can only have stuff in my boat I can rely on, I will definitely have a few of these in my boat! Highly recommended to anyone from the beginning to a professional angler!
Richie Wilson : Awesome spinning reel!!!
The flame is awesome!!! The reel is beautifully designed and fishes amazingly. The gear ratio is perfect to use as a drop shot reel and lots of other finesse type fishing. The drag works great and does well against both largemouth and smallmouth. It has a huge spool to hold about any size line you want. The casting is smooth and will cast long distances with ease. This reel overall is a top tier reel in my opinion. I now own two of these reels to use for river fishing and finesse in the lakes!!!
Joanne K Mahoney : Good alternative to keep you fishing.
A friend at work suggested this brand. I got the smaller reell. For catching panfish and bass in Michigan this is fine. It was bigger size wise than I envisioned, but it works well. The finish and overall quality is good. After a few fish you can get a feel for setting the drag. I have numerous spinning reels, Shimano, Diawa, Okuma, Mitchell..this holds its own.
P & D : Way sturdier and smoother than cheap brand name reels.
The reel is very smooth and seems to be sturdy. The drag is consistent and works good.
Stephen J. : arrived looking fine ,, but evidently some gear was broken inside
Reel looked good, decent weight, but the crank work sometime, sometime just froze. Im no newby at this stuff. never seen this on a new reel. I sent it back.
dperry : Only had it 6 months
Since everything on the handle is plastic, while reeling a decent sized fish in the plastic handle cracked. It's built to be able to fold up to be compact but the is a weak point. Can't return it because it's past the "return window". If the part is made stronger it would be a solid reel. Caught a lot of bass, dropped it in the water a few times, bearing and all that are great. Just the handle design
The T's : Piscifun is the Real Deal
I build custom rods and was donating a spin casting outfit to a charity auction. I had purchased a Piscifun Sword fly reel for friend who is a fly fishing guide in Wyoming for a custom rod built for him and was very impressed with the quality, finish and fit. I thought I'd try one of their spinning reels and wasn't disappointed. It is smooth and built to last. I'm becoming a Piscifun fan these days.
Eric R. Whitlow : Great with one big issue.
Very smooth with good line lay. One issue and it is a big one. Either the bail is too big or the reel seat stem is too short. No matter how I hold my rod the bail bangs into my knuckles. I have average hands. May be a great reel for kids or people with tiny hands.
WYCowboy55 : Great Product & fast shipping
This is a great reel, came as described, and showed up fast.
Brownsfan 24 : Good value for beginner fisherman.
Purchased the 2000 for bass fishing. The weight specs and spool capacity appeared perfect for me to use 10-12 pound test line. The reel is a good value for beginning fisherman. Very smooth retrieve and easy to cast. I really like the large spool capacity and the oversize bail and line roller. Seems to manage line twist very well. I don't like the small diameter spool, to achieve extra line capacity they made the spool very deep and with the narrow diameter it does not cast very long. Also do not care for the drag. The first fish I caught had the drag loose but I could not tell as it is hard to pull line initially. I tightened it one click and the drag is definitely sticky on the initial pull. Finally the weight of my reel was listed at 8.5 ounces. My best Pflueger reel in the 2000 size is 7.2 ounces. The Piscifun reel felt very heavy to me out of the box so I weighed it at the post office before spooling it and the actual weight of my 2000 model is 9.6 ounces.
Kyle Woods : Great Budget Reel
I have two of these 3000 reels and I plan on buying a 2000 for my ultra light rod setup. These reels are so smooth and look very nice. I've gotten compliments from other trout fisherman at fishing docks with this reel. In my opinion, this is one of the best budget brands and models. Very affordable and they perform like a higher end reel, just take care of it like any other. Highly recommend.
C. Simpson : Ultimately worked out
I use this for saltwater and I rinse it thoroughly with fresh water after each use and it started to cease after maybe 4-5 outings. After disassembling it to lube it, I saw some rusty components. Surprising to see in a reel. Why not stainless or aluminum?
Update: the company contacted me directly and ultimately made things right. They explained that the flame reel isn’t for saltwater and I ultimately paid the incremental cost to upgrade to a salt reel. I’ve only used that once so I don’t have any input yet but fingers crossed. They seem like a good company and they look at their reviews. Thank you.

E Pluribus Unum : What's with the oversize bail that hits your rod fingers when you turn the crank?
I am extremely disappointed. I ordered two of these reels based on the reviews. Got them today and slapped one on my new rod. As soon as I started cranking the bail hit the middle fingers of my hand that was holding the rod. No reel I have ever had does this. The bail is HUGE compared to the rest of the reel and compared to other reels I have. Unless you have paper-thin fingers I would strongly recommend avoiding this reel. The reels are pretty useless to me because of this bail issue.
Elias D : Stiff as a Board
bought the piscifun venome, it made noise and jammed so I returned it, and tried the flame. the flame was cheaper and much smoother. casts beautifully and I couldn't be happier. I wish the 4000 reel in this series came with the big handle like the venom 4000 has.
Update: I've had this reel for a 3 months and lately it's been seizing up and so stiff now! I tried greasing it but these are just not built to last. Spend the extra money and go with a Penn product.
