Just ordered the Flame 4000 and an Ugly Stick medium action 6'6" rod for catfishing at the local river.

Answer: Not sure about the 3000 , I have three 2000 using 4 pound test to crappie fish with ample line capacity

Answer: Mono:11lb/195ydsBraid:25lb/290yds. Hope it could help you.

Answer: I use spider wire sorry.
Q:
Is it good for bass
Answer: I don't see why not. Although you may want to go with a smaller size. I got the 5000, and I use it for fresh and salt water fishing. I got the bigger size for striped bass, blues, and cat fish. But I've caught large mouths, porgy, sea bass, and plenty of white perch on it too. I've got the 5000 spooled with 15 lb mono.
Answer: I fish trout hard & then when it gets too hot I will fish for bass. It would be good for bass but a little undersized unless you enjoy ultralight reels for bass.

Answer: Floralcarbon 6# test.
Q:
Can i use this for 40lb catfish ?
Answer: I would choose a larger reel than the 2000. But, I have never caught a 40 lb. catfish. Pole and line would have much to do with the leverage. Reel would have the strength, but a person would need to work the return hard with a smaller reel...
Answer: Yes. I use the reel for brackish water fishing, and have caught 40+ lbs sharks on it.
Answer: In open water yes,but you will need to play a cat that big.
Answer: I'm pretty sure you can as long as you know how to properly fight a monster like that.
Q:
why the 3000 is so small I compared to a penn 3000 and is way smaller btw. i got two of this reels and I'm tinking and upgrade to a 4000

Product reviews of Piscifun Flame Spinning Reels Light Weight Ultra Smooth Powerful Spinning Fishing Reels Red & Blue
Jimsr : Very Nice Spinning Reel
I just happened to be browsing Amazon when I came acress this fissing reel. It looked interesting abd tge price was right. I am pleased with the reel. I had intended to give a review sooner, but due to circumstances beyond my control that trip was cancelled and the trip was rescheduled to this past week. This is a very nice reall. the action is very silent and smooth. the only complaint and the reason for the 4 stars is the it takes a bit of effort to resent the bail to reset the bail after casting the line. if you reset the bail manually, there is not problem. My other minor criticism is that the drag is somewhat finicky to set to the right level. it can be done, but it takes a few very fine adjustments..
Would i buy it again? Yes. Its a very good reel for the money.
Jose Estrada : Amazing reel
This was the best reel I have ever had so far especially for the price point at only $25 I was able to catch anything from tiny little crappie to huge catfish or even carp the biggest I caught was a 25 lb carp and the reel did not even get affected in any way and after that I eventually lost it fighting a huge fish while on a kayak so I will definitely be sure to order another it has been over a year since i ordered my first but just placed an order for another flame 3000 for the price and cool look this is the best reel not to mention how freaking smooth it was! 10/10
Miguel : Horrible reel
I honestly read all of the reviews before choosing this over a Shimano Sienna. The price was only a $9 difference. I bit the bullet and ordered this reels and ignored all of the negative stuff I had read on it. It delivered and was surprised at how nice it looked. I spooled it up with some braid and hit up my local pond. Within 10 min I was ready to throw this thing in the water. To be a size 2000 reel the bale on this thing is HUGE. With every turn of the handle the bale would bump my hand and started to get painful. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. Very poor engineering. Also, it was more plastic that I had thought. Felt very comparable to one of those $10 Shakespear combos you can buy at Walmart. I immediately removed my braid and requested my refund. Btw I am 6’1 205lbs so I am not freakishly huge to where I should have problems holding a reel :)
Amazon Customer : Looks nice, functions poorly
Reel looks nice and turns smoothly out of the box. However, once you spool it up and start using it, things go down hill fast! First off a new reel should not be squeaking as you crank the handle. Even worse, once the reel is under load, like when landing a fish, the reel makes a clicking sound and you can actually hear the gears grinding from the stress of reeling in a fish. Maybe you would expect that kind of stress if you're reeling in a giant fish on heavy line, but this happened with 4lb line and a bluegill! When emailing their customer support, they want me to send them a video of this happening! Forget it! Luckily, i was able to get out a use this reel before my return window with Amazon expired.
Buyer beware. If you do decide to still get one, make sure to use it before your return window is up.
JNPDX : Super Fine Reels for the Money
I expected fine reels from Piscifun for the money and that is what I got. I debated ordering the 2000 or 3000 models. I ordered the 2000s and found the spool diameters a little small. The next two I order will be 3000s. Either way these reels are so inexpensive you can't go wrong.
Daniela Sadach : Don't Hesitate.
I was looking for a new, lighter, decent reel trout season. I was skeptical at first because of the price. A decent reel for under $30 bucks? But after reading other's reviews and figuring why not, I went ahead and bought the reel. I matched it up with my Ultra Light GX2 rod, strung it up with ten-pound braid, to six-pound fluorocarbon, and took her out the next morning. This reel performed way better than I expected. It was lightweight, easy to reel, and can cast a country mile with little weight on the rod. I am not going to compare this reel to others because each one performs differently but all I can say is you will be happy with your purchase. My nine year old wanted me to give my whole rig to him becasue it was so light and easy for him to use as well.
Amazon Customer : The first cast was impressive
The line spool is smaller size than a traditional 3000 size reel. it casts smooth as butter. I would definitely reorder one just for the low price and high quality value. It’s far superior to any budget reel from a box store.
Liberty76 : Great Value - As good as reels costing 2-4X
The Flame is a terrific value for the money. Don't bother with high-priced reels. The workmanship and operation is on par with the best spinning reels I've tried.
Stephen J. : arrived looking fine ,, but evidently some gear was broken inside
Reel looked good, decent weight, but the crank work sometime, sometime just froze. Im no newby at this stuff. never seen this on a new reel. I sent it back.
Robert D. : Awesome Reel for the money
I purchased the 3000 model for a cheap 6 foot 8 inch telescopic rod. While the rod was better than I thought it would be, this reel made it much better. The casting and smoothness of this reel is fantastic. I was looking at another model and this reel performed better for less money. I am planning on buying another for a Medium Heavy rod. Every review is subject to that persons feeling about that item. So I can only say, give it a chance. You will not be sorry. 5** rating is well deserved.
Olivia Suarez : Piscifun Flame best bang for the buck!
Picked up a 2000 size Flame, and I’m absolutely blown away. Right out of the box this reel is insanely smooth. 10 bearings in a $20 spinning reel is amazing, and nearly impossible to find. The bail is very strong, crisp on every flip. Every cast was done with ease, and the drag is very smooth, no hiccups! What more can you ask for in a $20 reel!? The only thing I would add/request is a 1000 size Flame, that would round out the lineup very well. This is another winner from Piscifun, I highly recomend this reel to anyone looking to add to the collection!
Amazon Customer : Very Nice and would buy again
I run Penn reels 1-2500, 2-3000, 2-4000, 2-5000 and 1 6000. I bought 2 of these specifically for sabiki fishing and are rigged up for that purpose on every trip. These reels could easily go up against my Penn 4000s. They are on the smaller side but are smooth as silk, strong, light and quality built. If your an inshore fisherman, you can throw these all day on a light spinning rod and not tire out. With the right rod you can handle most inshore and smaller offshore fish.
Mary A, Dever : good reel good price
i have been using this reel for 2 months now i waited to wright this review to try out the reel. because how good could it be for twenty three buck well pretty good . after two months of pounding river smallmouth it still works like new now it it better than a more expensive reel yes. under forty bucks you would be hard press to fine better now that said how long it will last i don't know. if it last ten years of abuse like my old pflueger trion gx-7's with no maintenance it would be the best reel under 150$ if not solid reel for the price paid.

Cool98wrets : Quality product at a good price.
This has been one of the best reels I have ordered in a long time. I.bought it to go brackishwater fishing, figuring with the price so low, if it broke I would not be out but $27. However, much to my surprise, I have found I really like this reel. The reel itself casts extremely smooth. Even after using it is brackish water, with a good rinse and oil in the appropiate place, I have strarted using it for bass. I might be replacing some old reels soon.

P & D : Way sturdier and smoother than cheap brand name reels.
The reel is very smooth and seems to be sturdy. The drag is consistent and works good.
dperry : Only had it 6 months
Since everything on the handle is plastic, while reeling a decent sized fish in the plastic handle cracked. It's built to be able to fold up to be compact but the is a weak point. Can't return it because it's past the "return window". If the part is made stronger it would be a solid reel. Caught a lot of bass, dropped it in the water a few times, bearing and all that are great. Just the handle design
Frank DeRosa : Swing and another miss for Pisifun.
Love my Piscifun tackle bag, but this Piscifun 2000 Flame Spinning Reel's anti-reverse is hit and miss out of the box. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. Better to find out it's a piece of junk now than like the Piscifun Storm 4000 I purchased, (and returned), that locked up during a fishing trip. You do make a fantastic tackle bag for kayakers though.
A. Wodz : Reel lost the smooth after a single day fishing.
I got this gorgeous looking reel a few months ago and finally took it in its maided trip. Everything was smooth at the beginning. A long day fishing and plenty of fish caught that day. Get home, a quick rinse off to get any crud off like I usually my do all my reels, and leave to dry. The following morning the reel was no longer smooth and well on its way to seize up. Maybe I got a lemon or maybe the grease/oil in this thing is crappy quality that can't last a few months sitting in its own box. This is actually the second Piscifun reel that craps out on my like this. Even cheapo reel/rod combos from Walmart have lasted me years. Needless to say I think I will avoid Piscifun reels.
John Sousa : Impressive!
I'm so glad I purchased this reel! I have plenty of decent reels from more commonly know brands so this time I figured why not take a chance on something a little less expensive from a brand I never heard of. So far I'm very impressed. It spins buttery smooth, instant anti-reverse works just like it should, it looks great and feels very solid. Although I haven't tried it yet, from what I can tell right out of the box it's every bit as high quality as the best reels I already have. If it turns out to be nothing but a turd with some glitter thrown on it, all I lost was $26. Once I get some line on it and get a chance to use it I'll update this review.
Update: I finally got a chance to use this reel a few days ago. I must say, I'm not disappointed! Everything I said previously still stands. It feels very solid, it's nice n' smooth, it casts well and everything works as it should. I definitely recommend this reel to anyone that wants to get out fishing but don't have much of a budget for gear or any angler simply looking to try a new brand.
Verzun Alexander : It's good and cheap reel for small fishing.
Model 4000
So far it looks good. Just performed a few home tests on it.
Cons:
1 very cheap made plastic cap
2 handle looks very weak, but will see
3 on off function is not needed I guess for 99% of anglers
Pros
1 27$
2 very nice design
3 Perfectly fit my fiblink travel rod
4 manual translated very funny to Russian, learned a few new cool words
I guess should be generally good for 7 ft light and medium spinnings
Weight with braided line 360 grams that I dont care, but some may. Max drag I would ever try is about 9 pound, and for my rod I would set to around 5.
Hard to compare to garbage stock reels, they are just garbage.
On the other hand hard to compare to 50-70$ reel.
You get what you pay for.
If you do decide to still get one, make sure to use it before your return window is up.
christopher r. : Love there products!!!!
I own several piscifun reels both spinning and baitcasting and have had no issues with them ever, so ordered 2 of these reels one for me and one as a gift. I use my reel almost every day for the first 2 weeks and it worked flawlessly until my wife ended up birds eating the reel so bad that it had to be disassembled to fix. When taking off the spool something fell off and upon putting the reel bact together it no longer worked. I immediately reached out to piscifun and explained the issue I received a response email from them with in a few hrs, and by the next day they had sent me a replacement reel no questions asked. I use other brands of reels and have had them fail before well withing there warranty period. So the big brand manufacturer of those reels expects you to pay to ship the reel back to the manufacturer and then an extra $25 for parts for a so-called "1 year warranty". I love the fact that piscifun stands behind there product and will make sure if you are satisfied. My new reel came in just intime for my fishing trip and has been in continuous usage since the day after I received it still works flawlessly. I recommend there reels to anyone!!!!!!
Amazon Customer : Buy this reel! It's fantastic!
Recently received my reel from Piscifun and love it. Here are some reasons why:
The reel is light, but feels strong and sturdy when you hook a fish. I like how it allows you to fight a fish with the confidence that the reel won't let you down. Other, more expensive, reels I have used in the past have failed when fighting a fish.
The flame is a genuine bargain for the money. The reel replaced by the Flame was easily 4x as expensive. My old reel wasn't as smooth on rewind or when adjusting the drag mid fight. The most important thing for me is to treat the fish as humanely as possible. The rainbows I catch are all wild. I'm a huge believer in catch and release. The Flame helps me land these fish quickly, but with a fun fight, and back in the river as soon as soon as possible.
I think potential buyers should look at the technical specs between the Flame and other reels. The value and quality for your dollars is unmatched. I'd put the piscifun up against any other trout reel currently on the market. If your $200+ reel can out fish the piscifun, good luck to you because it isn't going to happen.
Finally, I love the way the reel looks! It just looks great seated on the pole. A minor detail, but having something that gives you confidence and looks great is a huge plus. The flame is a huge value. When looking for a top quality reel at an unbelievable price buy the Flame. Use the extra money for lures or line. I plan on using the savings to buy a 5000 size for use on the Oregon coast. Truly tough conditions for fishing gear, but I have massive confidence in Piscifun because of the Flame. Buy this reel. It's simply fantastic!
Bruce Fryda : Smooth
Reel is very smooth with a good spring in the bail. Excellent value.
Tom de : Tried it and liked it
I have to admit I fish a lot and had not heard of Piscifun before. I decided to give it a try due to the low price and it has been GREAT! Works all the time, easy to load line onto, and never gets tangled.

Jake : Very smooth, very reliable, not exactly lightweight or small though.
***UPDATE*** My first review was 5 stars. I liked the reel so much that I recently bought a 2nd, and I can see the quality has gone downhill since my first purchase. Ordered a 2nd identical reel last week and there was about 1/16” of slop/play in the handle which can be felt in the gears and bail. It sounds minor but you don’t want that free play while you’re reeling in. The first one I bought does not have this at all. I ordered a replacement and it does the exact same thing. Still a good reel for the money but obviously something has changed so I will look elsewhere.
I've used this reel on about 5 fishing trips now and I am blown away at the quality. I've bought $40-$80 reels in the past and this one outperforms them. My only complaint is that it's a little on the heavier side- even though its advertised as small and lightweight, and I wish the handle was a little smaller. I got the 2000 series thinking it was going to be a small reel. But I still have to give it 5 stars. Highly recommend!
The DIY Hunter : Anti-Reverse Not Working
Took this reel out for the first time yesterday. We (my teenagers and myself) had multiple birds nests from the anti-reverse randomly not staying engaged. I gave my boys a hard time for not using the reel properly and then used the reel and it happened to me. Oops, sorry boys. If you went to set the hook or needed to tug a lure out of a snag and your hand wasn't on the reel handle the reel might randomly not hold the anti-reverse and start spinning in reverse making a mess out of your line. I went to make a video of the problem today and I can't get the reel to have the issue. My guess is that there is too much grease or something holding the latch open internally and it appears with time it may work just fine. Other than this issue the reel is pretty nice and very smooth especially given the lower price this reel sells for.
G : Great real smooth and long cast
I purchase this real because I didn't want to use my expensive reals in the kayak, don't let was 6 lb braided line and the other was 65 lb braided line and both are very enjoyable casting long-distance and smooth on the retrieval
BTBooker : Go with Kastking. Same price, better reels.. My opinion!
Had it out twice and I’ve noticed that casting is not as good as Other small inexpensive reels I’ve purchased nor is the retrieval. This will probably be a reel I keep in the truck just in case something happens to my other reels.
Steve Mullinax : Smooth Operating Reel
I purchased this reel to replace one that had just broken and I was so surprised when it arrived and I put it on my rod. It operates so smoothly and it's been a treasure to use. I highly recommend this reel to anyone looking for a new or a replacement reel. Quality product for a reasonable price.
Scott Dunbar : Alright, let's be honest, this isn't a Penn Fierce III, but for the money, it's pretty darned good
This reel lasted me almost 2 full seasons, unfortunately, the salt took her this year. This reel is NOT a splasher or dunker to be clear.
I could probably fix it as it's just the main bearings, which are unsealed that need to be replaced, but Piscifun has been more than useless at answering my question if I can buy a simple bearing replacement kit from them. The other internals are about what you would expect at this level, and I honestly have NO clue how they are getting away with saying that there are NINE ball bearings, that is a flat out lie. There are THREE ball bearings in this real. There may be one in the riveted crank arm, but internally there are three.
When it did work, it was fine. Mostly just for the sheer fact that for it being so cheap, and it performs so well, if I killed it, it wouldn't be the end of the world. To be fair, I've had Diawa cheepo combos for $19 that were better than this, including shielded bearings.
Would I buy it again? Probably not. It filled a hole in my arsenal at the time but if I have to replace these every few years, it's most likely worth the investment to get a sealed reel. If you fish freshwater, then it's most likely less of a concern.
Emmanuele Codega : Good value for the money
For what you pay for, it is a good spinning reel. Compared to other reels that I have, it might not be as smooth as they are, but it cost a fraction of what I have paid the others. The construction material is decent, the handle arm crank is not extremely strong, so you need to make sure you do not drop it too often.

Miguel71 : Great spinning reel for the price
I bought the Piscifun Flame 3000 spinning reel and it is a great reel for the price. It cast and retrieves smooth. The 3000 reel is perfect for catfishing and I can't wait to use it this spring. For $25 bucks this reel performs very well. I highly recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive spinning reel. Good job Piscifun
Liberty76 : Great Value - As good as reels costing 2-4X
The Flame is a terrific value for the money. Don't bother with high-priced reels. The workmanship and operation is on par with the best spinning reels I've tried.
Pogi : So far so good
I like everything about it so far, but only time will tell on its durability. It's a bit bigger and heavier for what I was expecting for a 2000, but for $20 this is a great deal.
There's a storm heading my way so I can't really fish until it passes. I'll write more once I'm able to fish again

PeteM1999 : Piscifun Flame Spinning Reel 5000 series
As my other reels break down I am replacing them with Piscifun reels. I ordered these prior to going surf fishing. Shipping was fast. Got them and they are good looking reels. They are a little smaller then other 5000 series reels I have, look more like an average 4000. Set the reels up with 30# braid and they hold a good amount. Reels were great for casting. Reeling in line with 3oz weights on them was easy and they seemed to work well. I would like to be able to say they were great for reeling in fish, but we didnt catch a thing so that review will have to wait. Overall I am pleased with these reels and will be buying more.
Fishnmusicn : It's a shame.
I liked this reel for trout fishing, worked fine. Maybe not as smooth as 9 ball bearings would suggest but good enough, especially for the price. Unfortunately I wanted to change the line on it today and it was completely bound up and the handle wouldn't turn. I had to throw it out. I guess you get what you pay for. Take care if you get it wet at all. You may get the same result.
Josue Tapia-Ramirez : Great reel but not ideal for surf fishing or near sand
Bought the 5000 series for my 9ft salmon pole and it preformes great! Smooth reel action and the drag is over kill for the fishes I've caught. But 1 design flaw.
I don't like red color for much but this design of the reel made me accept and think about red color reels differently now.
Now the serious talk, I've fresh water fished with this and salt water fished with it. Great no issues even after a thorough water rise after pier fishing with no signs of corrosion on the main shaft or gearing.
However, when I was river fishing next to a sandy spot that is half dirt and half is sand well the bearing on the mainshaft and 2 bearings on the handle got so much sand, the reel was useless. (Yes user errors and bad handling of the reel) but something to keep an eye out for surf fishing or fishing near a small amount of sand just to keep in mind.
alex c. : Looks great and works great !!!! ????
Got this in today and went to break it in. I wanted a light setup and got the 2000 model it has a super smooth casting amd retrieval i have a KastKing Centron 3000 and i could say its the same thing with different name and for a fraction of the price. Definately recommend cant wait to see how it handles a bigger fish
Jesus.Perez : Top notch 100%No Regrets!
Great reel awesomely smooth this company is doing it right my hats off to them best bang for your buck do not hesitate to buy you will not regret it ! Im ordering a couple more quality durability and craftsmanship incomparable best value for your money
Shelbie : Highly recommend this reel
This reel is great. I have taken it out a few times now catching smallmouth, drum and a few channel cats. It has performed perfect. I love that it’s braid ready. The color scheme and design look amazing. I have it spoiled up with 15lb braid and it is smooth casting and has handled everything I have thrown and caught. Highly recommend this reel. I have the 2000 size and plan on getting more.
chris parker : Great bang for the buck!
Wasn't expecting much for the price, but was pleasantly surprised! Doesn't feel cheaply made, and is very smooth. I have reels from other makers ( Lew's, Diawa, Shimano) , and while this isn't a high end reel....... It feels every bit as good as reels I've payed $50-$100 dollars for! I put this reel (2000 series) on my dedicated Dobyns finesse rod for drop shot and Ned rig work, and it has worked very well for me, so much so that a bought a second reel for a light T-rig, wacky, shaky head rod. Can't speak much on long term quality, as I've only been using them for a month, but I think they will last as long as any other spinning reel that you would pay more for!
