Answer: The reel is made for 20 - 30 lb mono or beaded string. It really is not designed for long casting in as much as it is designed for short cast and drop fishing. It does cast a 1oz lure 30-40 yards but you will not get close to that with a 1/2oz jig head.

Answer: I would not recommend casting with this reel. Grab a spinning reel or bait casting reel

Answer: Not sure, but tended to slip when I hooked fish as I reeled in...very frustrating.

Answer: I doubt it. Even if it did, warranty with manufacturer is a hassle and you have to pay to ship. Use it immediately and you have the Amazon free return policy to send it back!

Is this reel good for inshore fishing?

Answer: Great for surf fishing. That’s what I use it for. Big reds to smaller sharks. Wouldn’t be my choice for bays. Keep the line guide oiled after every use. I have 2 20’s & a 30. 20’s have faster retrieve & hold enough line for most surf catches.

Answer: I hate to give bad reviews, and I seldom do, but I bought 4 of those and had to send them all back. Penn used to make a quality product. Not sure what the problem is these days. They started making a grinding noise and often locked up and skipped when trying to reel in fish. Very frustrating, I lost some good fish with those things. Sorry, just my honest answer.

Answer: I'm sorry to say it's not very good at all. The plastic construction made it prone to numerous problems, none of which I had with my Okuma. It lasted about 8 months before it locked up completely and had to be sent back.

Answer: No way! This is a smaller reel. 40 lb braid would work like PowerPro or Spider Wire. Don't buy This reel though. It is a royal P.O.S. !!! Its not worth $20. Icant believe Penn would put out such trash

Answer: Yes but capacity is cut in half if drift fishing you get about 150 yards but be aware the bait coolers burn out fast on these reels causing issues on casting .

1. Is this good for 20-30 lbs fish? Is the clicker nice and loud?

Answer: Clicker on these models does not stay put when off it slides into middle position an half works causing backlashes when throwing rigs.

Used once on a several hour trip to a local reef. Works as advertised. Only issue, not a big deal I guess is for the size reel, the crank seems over done and kind of puts the reel off balance. The handle is BIG. Overall, not a bad deal. We'll see how it hold up in a marine environment
