Does this reel have a metal frame?

Answer: It is not a plastic frame, seems like what I call "white metal casting" this is the 2nd one I purchased. They first one lasted over 10 years. Finally the gears went, and I do a lot of fishing. Great reel !!!!!

Answer: Sorry, but I have no idea..I've had my SS2600 for 25yrs but it's still working fine.

Does it have twist buster and instant anti reverse mechanism ?

Answer: No. Mine has neither. Conventional anti-reverse only.

Djukha : Good reels

I have no problem with these reels ( I have two 2000 and 3000), I find both of them good for their purpose. 3000 is little bit more robust and heavy with more line space I’ll take it to the river when salmon run starts. I like the folding handle 2000 can fit to jacket pocket.

M. L. Wilson : Best spinning reels ever

I bought these for saltwater fishing and paired them with All Star 7' foot rods and then spooled them up with ProwerPro Slick 8 30lb test line. You have to slow it down it comes off so smooth and quick. I'm glad I bought two when I did as they are hard to find.

I owned the equivalent of the SS2600 Diawa for over 20 years, wouldn't trade it for the world. I found it to be smooth cranking, easy drag setting, long casting, and easy to clean/maintain. A perfect reel to use for bass, walleye, northerns, crappies, catfish, white strippers, etc. Throwing spoons, crankbaits, flippertails, etc, jigging with livebait, etc. I used it on an 7' 6" All Star or a 7' 6" G Loomis rod with 12 lb test mono, almost exclusively, except when I occasionally went for Muskies, when I would spool it with braided 30lb line. Problem..... some lousy thief stole it out of my garage, along with 4 other reels and 7 rods. I am holding back on replacing it until after father's day because I have it on my wish list, along with a Diawa Steez, (fat chance)

Best reel for the price on the market. I fish 350 days a year for years and have owned at least 20 of these . I fish primarily for steelhead and secondary for salmon.
