We took a rod and spinning reel and removed anything that was not absolutely necessary to perform the basic functions: casting, retrieving, sensitivity and the ability to fight big fish. How do you use this exactly? do you put a stick in the center hole or just hold it? how do you cast?

Answer:

Answer: It takes some practice. Hold with your fingers through the holes, pull off some line. Then twirl the line like a lasso and toss to where you want to cast your line. As you let it go, turn the reel AWAY from you like you are showing the side of the reel to the casting direction. (Point your fingers towards the cast) The line should pull off on its own.

Answer: It is a mini Cuban yoyo for handling fishing.

What are the differences between 30lb and the 20lb line? I am newbie to fishig and handlining which one is better?

Answer: 20lb line will work best for most situations you'll encounter. The kit with 20lb line also hold more line, because the line is thinner than 30lb line, giving you over 250 feet of line.

Answer: Little difference at most. You get a little more line capacity with the 20# but I prefer a thicker line on my fingers when hand lining. It won’t cut as deep lol

Answer: Line ratings are relative to the strength of the line. Generally fishing in heavy cover requires a stronger line to contend with the aquatic vegetation or for larger fish species

Answer: Generally speaking I believe the companies' intention was to use the 20 pound for freshwater and the 30 pound for saltwater.

Are there different color options available other than the gold? black? od green? i see pictures of different colors but no options to choose.

Answer: Just heavier line and they used to have slightly bigger tackle but I’m not sure if they still do. The heavier line seems to tangle a bit less, I have both.

What are the dimensions?

Answer: I believe the diameter is 3.5 inches and would estimate the thickness as under an inch. Very easy to carry in a pocket.

how many yards of 50 lb braid can be fit on it?

Answer: We don't recommend the use of braid on a handline. Braid can cut your finger! But to answer your question, it holds about 100 yards of 50lb braid.

Answer: Braided lines are not recommended due to retrieval spooling technique. Unless wearing gloves you can cut your skin. I have the 30 # line and it's plenty getting out 70 - 80 ft with plenty in reserve. Braided lines come in different materials and configurations so capacity would depend on the line.

Answer: I don’t know the answer but I imagine several hundred feet. Generally though on handlines monofilament is used as it’s a little less likely to tangle and a whole lot less likely to cut/burn your hands.

bruce dalager : Finish is impeccable!

The coating and finish of the yoyito is as nice as any coated or anodized aluminum I've seen, I got the kit and the tackle was good quality. Bag is nice though I might be moving it to a bag that can hold more tackle, bobbers, and a spool of spare line maybe. First impression is it's a high quality product and I'm itching to use it here in TN, and also looking forward to use it ice fishing back home in MN.

Cape Girl : Superb BOB or hiking reel

Great BOB or hiking fishing reel. High quality, lightweight and compact. You could stash this in your pocket comfortably. My carry pouch came with a small tear from where it must have caught on something, but nothing that is a deal breaker, I can use some seam seal or duct tape or sew it closed. I am really happy to have such a useful tool in my kit and have only added my favored floats or lures. I would highly recommend this.

It's a bit smaller than I thought but my finger fit well in the holes. I tried it out the other day went fishing with some buddy's from work and they made fun of me for using one but I caught 3 perch 2 sunfish and a bluegill on it and it's super fun to use especially when you show up your buddy by being the only one to catch something ???? I love it you can feel every nibble even better than with a rod my next goal is to go night fishing with it and try to get a big cat to bring in. The only down fall is the string that comes with it was garbage my 17 pound spider wire was three times harder to brake than there so called " 30 lb test"
