- VALIANT EAGLE – A symbol of American freedom and strength, the Bald Eagle stands tall in the hearts of American anglers! The new, dynamic KastKing Valiant Eagle Spinning Reel Bald Eagle Edition is made to honor that symbol of outstanding American pride and deliver incredible performance and reliable quality to anglers from coast to coast for fresh and saltwater fishing.
- UNIQUE FEATURES– The KastKing Valiant Eagle fishing reel has 1-piece bail that will never rust or snag on fishing line. This is the first time KastKing implements the technology to spinning reels that are under $100. With a Patent Pending spool design, Valiant Eagle reels are able to increase casting distance and improve line control. Plus, the braid line-ready spool eliminates the need for monofilament line backing before filling the reel with braided line to avoid slippage.
- LIGHTER, FASTER AND STRONGER – Soaring through the sky then ferociously diving to hunt, the Bald Eagle conveys the messages of speed, power, relentless pursuit and fearless spirit. The Valiant Eagle spinning reel honors America’s symbol by providing the exceptional fast speed of a 6.2:1 gear ratio, raptor inspired lightweight yet strong body with all carbon frame and rotor, and the incredible power of a 22 LB multi-layer carbon fiber drag.
- STATE OF ART TECHNOLOGY - KastKing’s world class engineering team is dedicated to providing you with affordable innovation. For the first time, KastKing has utilized the amazing E.P.S. (Expanded Pinion System) and S.S.R. (Sliding Stabilizer Rod) into a spinning fishing reel priced under $100. Stabilizing the pinion gear and main gear increases the gear strength and durability. It offers you more performance and consistent operation than much higher priced fishing reels.
- SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE – The sealed carbon drag system provides 22 LB of fighting power and keeps drag washers dry to avoid inconsistent drag operation. This super smooth drag is powerful enough for fishing adventures going after large fish but starts smoothly to protect light fishing lines. To ensure consistent performance in both fresh and saltwater fishing conditions KastKing uses a total of 10+1 shielded stainless steel ball bearings for remarkably smooth retrieves and long accurate casts.
Product Description
Just as the Bald Eagle is a symbol of American freedom and strength, the new Valiant Eagle spinning reel is a symbol of quality, innovation and affordability for KastKing. New among KastKing Spinning Reels the introduction of this feature rich fishing reel is sure to please anglers from coast to coast for freshwater and saltwater fishing.
Valiant Eagle uses a combination of long fiber carbon material in the frame for strength and durability and short fiber carbon in the rotor for weight reduction. The combination of these two materials creates spinning reels that are Eagle strong and will soar above the competition.
The Valiant Eagle is fast! A gear ration of 6.2:1 will quickly catch up to fish making a dash towards your boat. You’ll pick up excess line quickly to make a second cast when time is critical. Strength and consistent performance are never compromised because of the KastKing patent-pending E.P.S. (Expanded Pinion System) and long-life durability through the unique KastKing Sliding Stabilizer Rod (S.S.R.)
KastKing uses a total of 11 (10+1) stainless steel ball bearings for outstanding smooth operation and consistent performance. The spool is CNC machined from aircraft aluminum and anodized for appearance and high performance. It also features KastKing’s Patent Pending line management system for consistently long casts. This is the perfect reel for both fresh and saltwater applications.
The aluminum spool features a sealed carbon drag system that is waterproof and keeps the carbon drag washers dry to deliver consistent, smooth and powerful drag pressure to handle strong fish.
KastKing knows that a comfortable handle is a vital component in great spinning reels. We’ve included a tough aluminum handle with a lightweight EVA handle knob that is super comfortable even after hours on the water and gives the angler the extra leverage that is required to have complete control for fighting and landing fish in all weather conditions.

Questions about KastKing Valiant Eagle II Spinning Reel - Bald Eagle Edition Fishing Reel, All Carbon Fiber Frame and Rotor, Never-Rust 1-Piece Bail, 6.2:1 High Speed Gear Ratio, Freshwater and Saltwater.
Q:
Is this the bold eagle edition, or the bald eagle edition. Don’t see a bald eagle on kastking website?
Answer: I haven’t bought one, just looking for a new reel. This looks like the new bold eagle based on the one piece bail and handle shape
Answer: Yes, this is the newest model. I have bought two and am super stoked on them. Have a 2000 as my go to for finesse bass and a 3000 as my inshore and heavier style bass rigs. Both are extremely light, very smooth, and extremely fast when needed
Answer: not sure
Q:
Does the 3000 series reel have a T grip handle?
Answer: No
Q:
Is the handle reversible?
Answer: Yes it is. Its also fun to switch reel hands on alternating days! Its gives your presentation a slightly more exotic movements... Its called "the stranger". Give it a try! Feels good too.
Answer: Yes!
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
Do you sell extra spools for the 4000 reel?
Q:
are the bearings sealed?
Answer: Yeah the bearings are sealed that's why a bought it u can use the reel in saltwater as well as fresh water
Q:
What size rod is recommended for this reel? Rated weight recommended as well?
Answer: I use it on a 7ft telescoping rod. I've used it for surf fishing in Carpenteria and used 10-12 lb test. However, since there is so much kelp and seaweed there I bumped up the line to 20 lb. The reel handles 20 lb line perfectly. Good luck.
Answer: I use a 7' MH, fast action and I target redfish.
Q:
Would the 2000 be sufficient enough for bay fishing?
Answer: I have the 4000 and use it for back Bay fishing, freshwater, and even inshore surf casting. It's very lightweight, but I find the drag is pretty underpowered for the size of the reels, so you may want to consider the 3000 or 4000
Answer: Super smooth. HOWEVER, these companies with light carbon bodies are terrible. Way to much flex/ twist. You want a reel with aluminum frame and carbon sideplates!!!
Answer: Probably, but I use the 3000 series for inshore redfish, trout, and flounder.
Q:
Is this good for saltwater?
Answer: Yes, very good. Still, make sure you rinse off any reel after use.
Answer: Yes. I bought this reel because my fishing guide in Cedar Key Florida said he had used them hard for six months in the salt water, done nothing but hose them down each night, and all four still ran flawlessly.
Answer: Never used in salt water
Q:
Aside from slight weight difference between carbon fiber and graphite in bald eagle and emerald eagle reels, what is the difference?
Answer: Believe the Bald is saltwater rated
Q:
What is the heaviest test non braided line I can use with the 2000 model?
Answer: You could probably put 100 lb test on it. It all depends on how long of a line you want. I believe the reel indicates how much of various test lines it will hold.
Q:
If used for saltwater, what must be done to keep the reel parts from rusting? Practically every part seems to be made of no rust material.
Answer: Just rinse and the rod off
Q:
Would the reel pair well with a 11 ft surf rod
Answer: I personally would want a little larger model. It is a very nice reel just not large enough for surf casting.
Answer: It depends what sized reel you're looking at, and what lb. test line you want to use! It's a sturdy reel for sure. IDK if it's rated for salt water use or not.
Q:
Is the handle reversible?
Answer: Yes it is. Its also fun to switch reel hands on alternating days! Its gives your presentation a slightly more exotic movements... Its called "the stranger". Give it a try! Feels good too.
Answer: Yes!
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can you buy a spare spool for the valiant eagle iii, bald eagle edition 3000?
Answer: Yeah just get the model # and contact the company
Q:
Anyone else have a pretty loud “whurrring” sound when you spin the handle? i thought w/ 10 ball bearings it would be silent like my daiwa bg
Answer: I have a 2000 and 3000 and they are super smooth and silent.
Answer: No
Q:
Does reel come in green and black color? I have the resolute rod and was wondering
Q:
Bald eagle or new bold eagle?
Answer: Bald eagle
Q:
Will you have any of the 3000 series soon?
Q:
Is this made in the USA?
Answer: Anyone that's curious about where are KastKing reels made will be happy to find out that they are made in the USA.
Answer: Seriously? China
Q:
What is the diff between this ve and the ve emerald?
Answer: Barely anything... (only upgraded frame)
Answer: Buy a Cadence reel. 100x better!!
Q:
Is this reel the “bald” eagle or the new “bold” eagle?
Answer: there is no hair on this reel, so my assumption is it's considered the "bald" version
Product reviews of KastKing Valiant Eagle II Spinning Reel - Bald Eagle Edition Fishing Reel, All Carbon Fiber Frame and Rotor, Never-Rust 1-Piece Bail, 6.2:1 High Speed Gear Ratio, Freshwater and Saltwater.
chrisbob : Excellent reels... get one and you will want more
This reel is smooth. The one piece bail is great. I own a couple kastking reels and they are top notch. The valiant eagle series is a fantastic line. I have the emerald eagle and that reel is amazing, too. Casting is a breeze... the line spools off very nicely with the patented spool reel edge.
DC : Smooth and strong
Great reel. I only buy kastking since they have not failed me yet.
L. Rogers : Works great
Works great on the bass, bream and crappie in my ponds. Very smooth and castable.
nathan s : Not as good as emerald eagle!
The reel was packaged well and appeared like will thought out packaging. Although supposedly carbon fiber, it felt more like a cheap plastic reel then a better quality one.
It also felt alright reeling, but not as smooth as expected. During the same time, i purchased the emerald eagle model also and it feels better in all regards...
Amazon Customer : Looks great; feels and sounds not so good
I ordered the 4000. This is the newer Bold Eagle based on the handle and single piece bail. The reel looks and feels really nice/sturdy. It’s light, but not too light where it feels flimsy. I’m a fan of heavier reels, but this feels good to me. There is a little bit of flex, but not too much. When I crank the handle I get approx 14-16 full rotations of the handle from one push. This is similar to my Diawa BG reel. At the time of purchase, I got this Eagle for ~$53 pre-tax. My BG 3000 was ~$91 pre-tax. The BG feels more sturdy because of the weight and materials, but the Eagle is pretty comparable except one thing.
My Eagle makes a pretty loud ringing/grinding noise and feel when I turn the handle. I expected it to be super quiet with the 10 ball bearings. My BG is pretty much noiseless when I turn the handle. I ordered a replacement for the Eagle, but the replacement was even worse. I’m hoping it just needs to wear in the gears, but I’m pretty skeptical at this point..
For the grinding and ringing, I took a star off. For the replacement being even worse, I took another star off.
Otherwise, it’s pretty comparable to my BG. I’m planning on using it in the next couple weeks. I’ll update then.
J. Ho : Seems robust
I've only had this out once but it seems to work great so far. I bought it to replace an Ugly Stick Shakespeare reel that didn't seem to like being around salt water and started having issues. Hopefully this will do better
Vince : If you want an ultralight,This is not it
So far my only issue is that for a size 1000 it’s huge,I’ve never seen a 1000 that big ,it’s at least as big as a 2000 in other reels. Other than that it looks and feels nice and smooth
Grant Cooke : KastKing Valiant Eagle 1000 great reel!
I bought this reel to pair up with a KastKing rod I recently purchased. I have slowly been acquiring some KastKing products and I have been very impressed so when it was time to find a reel for my new rod I went to Amazon and started looking. I stumbled across the Valiant Eagle 1000 and liked what I saw and the coupon available at purchase wasn’t discouraging either. I ordered the reel and it came in very nice packaging that I would not have expected. My first impression was this is a very smooth reel. It reels nicely. Drag adjustments are audible and it is adjusted easily. There was texture on the line spool making it perfect for braided line. Overall I was pleased. After unboxing I placed the reel on a 7 foot medium power fast action rod and spooked it up. I used 15 pound braid with a fluorocarbon leader for my applications. When I finally made it to the pond to do some fishing I was very impressed. The reel cast smoothly and I got excellent casting distance. The retrieve rate was perfect! And when I finally hooked a fish it did what it needed to. The drag was perfect and made landing a fish easy. Overall I am very pleased with this reel and I would definitely recommend to anyone!
Lee E. : Smooth as Can Be
This reel is incredibly smooth. The drag is easy to use and the overall setup is very lightweight. I look forward to taking this out on the water this year.
Jim Kitterman : Quality!
Just received this beautiful reel. It will my old crappie reel just fine!
Carlos Ortiz : Great reel, great value.
This reel is the superior quality that I have come to expect from Kast King. This is my 3rd reel from them and I don't think I will ever buy another brand.
Michael Torres : Great upgrade to an already awesome reel
I own two of the T-handle models, and this is just a great upgrade to an already tried and true reel.
Michael Smith : If You Want Quality, keep looking...
This is my first experience with Kastking reels. I researched all of their reels and decided on the Valiant Bald Eagle for a few reasons. One of them was the quality of parts that they advertise.
When I received my reel, I instantly noticed that when you spin the handle, that it would snag up on 3-4 different positions during 1 360 degree rotation. I documented with, and contacted their warranty. They informed me that I would have to pay for shipping it back, and if they didn’t find anything wrong, you have to pay for shipping it back to you.
Me personally, I feel they should take more ownership of warranty claims. Clearly it’s passing your quality control department.
I decided to do a full service on it, and instantly noticed there was no grease on part of the reel. I take it down to the frame, and cleaned every part, and greased it properly. Now it works very smoothly.
With that experience I almost said forget it. However,I bought another Valient Bald Eagle, but I did one thing before even trying to test it out. I took it down to the frame, and noticed one thing that both reels have in common. Both reels didn’t get the appropriate lubrications, but after giving both a service, they both are very smooth.
So, long story short... you get what you pay for. If you want a decent cheap reel, this is ok. But if you expect to have proper customer service and covering their warranty without trying to nickel and dime every customer, I’d say keep moving. Don’t buy this one.
I wouldn’t recommend solely on being a great reel. Look towards Shimano, or Daiwa.
Their customer service is 0/10
Their warranty is 0/10
Uniform quality: 3/10

Amazon Customer : Small Bait Reel
I needed a small light reel for fishing for stream trout in tight areas. This fits the bill. I like the handle size because of the small reel size its ample for my hands. I haven't used it yet but will in the next week or two and will follow up. Quality looks good. It has a small spool, which you would expect on a reel this size. I'm just curious how I'll get 170 yards of 6 lb Florocarbon on it.
Sean V : Caught me a monster!
I caught an absolute monster on this reel in the BWCA and it played it really well. I was catching fish all week on it, probably 40+ fish and it casted smoothly the entire trip
Michael Torres : Great upgrade to an already awesome reel
I own two of the T-handle models, and this is just a great upgrade to an already tried and true reel.
carl wilke : Kastking always delivers good product and price.
I now own 7 Kastking reels and not one has failed.. Several nice redfish on them and they hold up.. I can't say the same for other reels I have in the same price category. The value for the money is unmatched .
Sean V : Caught me a monster!
I caught an absolute monster on this reel in the BWCA and it played it really well. I was catching fish all week on it, probably 40+ fish and it casted smoothly the entire trip
Ami Lyn Shroyer : Time will tell
I purchased the 4000 size reel, spooled it with 20-lb PowerPro and put it on an 8' St. Croix rod. I have only fished with it once so far, but I had an epic day of catching snook on topwater. The reel performed flawlessly. I am a big fan of another popular brand of reels and have probably a dozen or more of the other brand, but decided to give this reel a try as a cheaper alternative for guests to use while fishing on my boat. Time will tell if this reel holds up over time as well as my other reels have.
SomeGuy : Great value and awesome performance on ultralight rods!
Very impressed! Smooth drag, lightwieght reel, and very smooth retrieve. Feels better than my pfulgher reels and I love the 6.2:1 ratio. Makes inline spinners him on an ultralight rod.
Wiinaq : Great Packaging
Something that's often overlooked is the packaging. This reel arrived in firm packaging which keeps it secure. It also arrived with expanded disassembly instructions and spare washers, a nice touch. The disassembly instructions also included a parts list which I will hopefully never need.
The reel itself feels very solid. The gears inside feel like they may need a little grease, but that's ok. I look forward to testing it out!
BLinKY : Smooth and balanced
I'm very impressed with this spinning reel because is it very smooth and well balanced. You can cast a very long distance even with light lures.
Marc A. : Great reel at a reasonable price!
The Kastking Valiant Eagle is a very nice reel for the money. It reels smoothly and without grinding or binding. Pairs nicely with my Kastking Pedigree II MH rod. Putting 20lb braid on it and going to catch some lunkers with it!!!
stinger : So far so good
First time use - really impressed. I've had Pfleuger and Quantum spinning reels and this so far this valiant eagle is smoother, lighter weight and casts further.
Greg Charkowick : Great 1000 size reel for the money
Very nice reel for the price the 1000 size spool could technically be a 2000 size but it's perfect for what I need it for already used it a few days now and its smooth only thing is pair this reel with good line used red label 6lb floro and and was not good at all
Jorgev : Really smooth great looking
Avid fisherman I’ve been hearing About cash king products for a while and I’ve actually used a few I’m very happy so far with this real I’ve only used it for six months smooth lightweight I’m going to buy another one for insure be fishing I have the 4000 product
Carl Spackler : Pairs perfectly with a KastKing Blackhawk II Telescoping Rod
Paired this reel with a KastKing Blackhawk II telescoping rod for inshore / surf fishing in Florida. Threw on some Extremus braided line and was set to go. Perfect rig to keep in the truck for impromptu fishing trips. The construction is sturdy and the reel is extremely smooth.
Pendaddy : Hard to turn and not freewheeling
I have numerous KastKing reels that are outstanding. These Valiant Eagle reels I bought are not. I got 3 of these in early May and it took weeks to ship. Once I received them, they are not a freewheeling reel like I have in my other KastKing reels. These are hard to turn and stop fairly quickly when you spin the handle.
When I emailed KastKing about the problem, they emailed me back and forth about tearing down the reel myself and doing a service on it. When I said I shouldn't have to service a new reel, they insisted I give it a try. They do not have a video and wanted me to call and talk to their tech. I called a few times and never got an answer. They asked me for my phone number so they could call me at their convenience. After a few tries on my own, I found a Piscifun video tearing down one of their spinning reels and followed that tutorial. I got two of my 3 reels to perform better, but one is the same. I shouldn't have to service a brand new reel, no matter how cheap it is.
My three Sharky III Gold reels are flawless. My four speed demon and speed demon pro spinning reels are flawless. I hate these Valiant Eagles because they are hard to turn and aren't smooth out of the box. You are better than this KastKing.....
fourrobert13 : Just what I was looking for.
Reel arrived quickly and was well packaged. Our of the box, the reel is very smooth and looks sharp. It feels solid and we'll built. I'm pairing it with a 6'8" medium light action rod for finesse fishing. So far I am extremely pleased with the reel and look forward to trying other Kastking products.
Repotamuss T Snodgrass III : Quality slipping fast
I’ve been fishing with tasking reels for at least for five years now they’ve always come greased and ready to go fish and salt water which is very corrosive and hard on real‘s. I had the emerald version of the valiant eagle edit fished really good for over a year which is a long time for a fishing reel in salt water. The last two Italian eagles that I received have both not been greased on the inside which made them bind and grind. Kastking’s Customer support it’s been good about replacing real’s the second bald eagle real I got was just as bad as the first I pulled it apart and the gears were not greased after greasing them it fishes great which just tells me their production in China is telling us expletive starting with an F you!!! These are good reels if you maintained them keep them washed and dried and well lubed.
Jim Kroll : Line eater
I don't know what star to give. I have tried two different mono and each is not cheap brand and I'm thinking the tapered spool is the reason for the reeling knots I get when I reel my line in. Its happening alot and it frustrates me because i never seen this in any other spinning reel. I wanted to give kastking a try but this Valiant Eagle 2000 has disappointed me.
Amazon Customer : Well Built For the Money
I have used the Sharkey 3 for some time and really like it and it is holding up great. The only thing I don't like about the sharkey is that the stem is a bit flexible, just not quite stiff enough. This reel uses a higher strength plastic for the stem and it is much stiffer.
DC : Smooth and strong
Great reel. I only buy kastking since they have not failed me yet.
Amazon Customer : Very Smooth
You can tell just by the packaging that the product is quality. But once you take the reel out of the box you can really feel how well made it is. I paired the Valiant Eagle 3000 with the Ugly Stik Elite 7 ft. 2 piece fishing rod and it works flawlessly.
Amazon Customer : Very Smooth

Ghub : Nice reel, great deal!
Well built and very light. Extremely smooth action. Very happy with this reel.
Retro : Disappointed
I ordered Kastking Valiant Eagle II 4000 reel. The size of the reel is not a true 4000, it's more like a 3000 size. I just got it a few hours ago and right out of the box, I must say, I'm dissatisfied. The reel looks like if somebody returned it and I got it instead of getting a new one. The reel makes a low grinding noise and the paint on handle is scratched. For the prise I should have gotten a Pflueger President, better build and probably better quality. Unfortunately I will have to keep it because I need it a reel and the reviews where somewhat good for the Valiant Eagle. Hopefully this reel will not fall apart one I start using it.
Michael Torres : Great upgrade to an already awesome reel
I own two of the T-handle models, and this is just a great upgrade to an already tried and true reel.
c_darlee : Great reel that increases casting distance.
Advertised as a distance booster for your cast. It absolutely did improve cast distance and worked very well. I was very careful to make sure I remained 1/8 from rim of the reel when spooling braided line onto the spool. Some reviews said the new designed spool to enhance cast distance tended to come off reel and wind knot. I did not find that and tested it in 15-17 wind with 23 gusts and had no problem with wind knots or line coming off the reel. Not overloading the spool and proper casting technique prevents such problems, at least in my experience. Also I only tested it with braided line and 3 ft flurocarbon leader. Not had reel long enough to comment on durability.
Bill Fish : I like this reel.
This reel is light weight and it works. I had to grease up the reel. This reel was well worth the price.
R : Beautiful KastKing Valiant Eagle II SpinninG reel
Beautiful Kastking reel, size1000.
I fish onshore, and this is perfect. Although well built, it’s not too heavy. Thus, I can cast all days, and will not be tired.
There is no need for larger reel, for what I fish for.
Benjamin Pavlovic : Good quality ???? used it for 2 days starting perfect
Really solid reel love it
mike shukaitis : Light weight and quality for a low price
Well made reels light and inexpensive.
Amazon Customer : Buy it!
Yea, this thing is awesome. I got this reel and paired it with the Kastking Black Hawk 2. I love it. It casts very smoothly and has no hitches or malfunctions. I also love the sleekness to it. All in all, a great addition to your fishing line up.
jlwillreads : Tighten the drag knob out of the box
Received the reel which was vary well packaged. Vary well made. Haven’t fished yet but already loaded with braid. FYI future buyers, make sure the drag knob is twisted on out of the box. I didn’t check it and I installed the reel on my rod and did a practice throw(not braided yet, just swung it to get the feel of it) and the drag knob went flying. No damage was done.
Michael Torres : Great upgrade to an already awesome reel
I own two of the T-handle models, and this is just a great upgrade to an already tried and true reel.
Nicole N : Quality and Worth It!
I have been buying Kastking products for a few years now and use them for inshore saltwater fishing. They definitely last, if you care for them, and if I ever have an issue, Kastking has always been great about reaching out and replacement. This particular spinning reel is extremely smooth and casts extremely well. Definitely worth the price. I have used this and the Megatron reel and both have been superb. Definitely recommend this product and the brand overall.
Ese B : Good reel
Smooth and strong. This is my 6th reel in the valiant eagle line up and by far my favorite reel
MB Waters : Great deal for the money
Seems very well made. Smooth casting
