They feature Shimano's proprietary HAGANE gear and body for superb frame rigidity that holds up to even the most aggressive of fish without compromising its lightweight properties. The Sustain's new (as of 2017) Magnumlite Rotor weighs less and provides increased casting distance when compared with previous models and provides better balance and easier start-up and halt during retrieve. The reel's X-Protect technology also exhibits top-level water resistance with its unique water-repellent finish and water-diverting labyrinth structure. Surprised the oil port is gone. Rather fond of that option. My old sustain still runs like new because of it. Apparently this one is sealed. We'll see how it lasts. So far it's amazing, Paired with a st croix tournament bass rod.
