The picture shows it is a 6U but there is nothing in the product detail specifing line weight. Is this really a 6U?

Answer: This is SYN2Ti6U.　I purchased this.

What pound test is loaded on the reel at delivery

Answer: The TI 4 comes with 4 pound test mono and the TI 6 comes with 6 pound test mono line. Any other Shakespeare model I do not know

Does the reels come all sprung all already.

I expect some factory mistakes now and then but still disappointed when it happen. Reel wold not play out line and was hanging up. Removed nose cone and a spring fell out. Must have been from pick up pin as one would not extend.

Line clicker broke near immediately with a small plastic piece of it falling inside the reel and keeping the trigger from working properly. We're talking a tiny piece of metal smaller than the top of a pencil eraser. That said, once I removed it and reassembled the reel, it's working quite well. But it's a good budget reel for a kid to learn how to cast a typical spinning reel.

Old Dude : Great Reel 6U

This is a very nice reel. Works great a lot better for me than an open face reel which always tangled. I enjoy this style of reel so much I I got rid of my open face reels and now I only use the closed face trigger spins. I own several different brands in different sizes. But my favorite one is the Shakespeare Synergy TI Spincast Reel. I even bought a Shakespeare Micro Series light action rod to go with it. I really like the Shakespeare reel I just wish they would make other trigger spins in different sizes.

Have used Zebco 33s for years (older models) and wanted to try something new since my old ones are getting worn out. The past few models of Zebco 33 have been terrible (with the exception of the newest model). Love the look and feel of this new Shakespeare reel but reeling in the line is not smooth and is tight. It casts well but I don’t care for the retrieve action.
