What is the difference between a 100G and a 200G reel?

Answer: The only difference is the size of the spool the 200G holds more line than the 100G. I don't know the exact yardage but if you checked the schematics of each real you would find out pretty easily.

Answer: Absolutely, I use mine for a surf casting and for fishing off the rocks in northern California. You can cast as far as a spinning real if you know how to cast a level wind.

Answer: I cast the 100G from my boat with a jig on it; works fine, just make sure you keep your thumb on the spool when it slows or...bird's nest!

Can the clicking be turned off on this reel?

Answer: I did not get the right order but to answer thre question there is a button that slide in and out on the left side of the reel. try that. that is to take the clicking sound off. I put it on to signal fish-on when trolling for salmon.

Answer: Yes it can. It's a hat looking like sliding "button"/switch on the left side, lift it up and the clicking goes almost silent, you can still feel a little vibration.

Would this reel be suitable for casting top water plugs in the 1/2 oz range?

Answer: In my opinion, NO. I use it in saltwater where I either drop the bait/jig straight down or flip it out. The Jigs I use are 3-5 oz and take a good strong flip to get any distance on a cast. I have the reel loaded with 30 lb test braid which has the thickness of 8 lb test mono. I f you are casting a 1/2 oz lure, I doubt that you would get much distance with this reel and if you really cast hard you will probably wind up with a lot of "bird nests". I think you should be considering a freshwater smaller reel. Try Googling for flipping rods and reels for suggestions.

Answer: I do not believe it would be the best choice for this in that there is no braking system on the reel like many other modern bait casters. I have used it specifically for live bait bottom rigs in both fresh and salt water. I'm sure it could be used for 1/2 oz but I believe it would be much more effective with larger plugs.

Answer: The TR100 is smaller than TR200.

Are these good for catching big catfish and stingrays ?

Answer: I guess it depends on what you consider 'big'. But this reel should be fine for most catfish and sting ray..

Answer: It will depend how you play the fish & set the drag. I have used this reel in the ocean for Sea bass & Fluke without a problem.

I ordered the TRN100G reel it does not hold 40 lb test line it's specs call out 12 lb test max. and only 250 yrd's of that test so I guarantee you it will not hold 410 yrd's of 40 lb test but if your looking for a lightweight reel go for it
