This is the place to post your Photos, Do your Math, and talk your smack.
Here's my first entry. Caught in the Merrimack River, in Bow, NH. The state record smallmouth in NH, is 7lbs,14.5oz. This smallmouth weighed 5lbs,9oz, and was 20.5". I caught her swimming a Rage Craw (prototype color) on a keel-weighted Moaner hook. If my calculations are correct (thanks, Dwight!), my score would be 70.35. I lost one today that was even bigger, so hopefully I will have another entry here soon! Bass boat is hitting the water for the first time this year on Wednesday. I can't wait!
Same fish
caught this one out in the middle of a shallow flat on a lucky craft crankbait with two dudes in another boat right on our tail.
5.3125 lbs / 11.125lbs x 100 = 47.75 points
Its small but I aint SKUNKED !!!!
3.24/12.28 x 100 = 26.38
I caught this one 3/18/11 on a YUM money frog in some weeds. I wish it was as big as it looked in pics.
5.88/16.5x100= 35.63
Those are some hogs! Got out last weekend to the St. Joseph river in S.W. Michigan with my fishing buddy. My 4year old son. Didn't stay out too long. Got a good size smallie and a under 2 lb largemouth.
never think of weighing or measureing before tossing em back. Have a scale and ruler right there. Using a purple/blk 3/8 oz terminator jig no trailer. craw scent.
Went fishing this weekend here in Nebraska, here's my picture:
Oh wait, I didn't catch anything, sat on the boat for 8 hours, got one nibble, tried everything.
you guys with the pictures but no points... are you participating in the contest or what?
Didn't see any rule's on this topic for figuring out your point's.. How's it work.. ?

OK, I thought this would be a fairly easy switch over. Signup on the other thread, play on this one. Evidently not.
Here are the rules
RULES

SR = state record Fl = 17.27 lbs
FW / SR x 100 = your score
10.5/17.27x100 = 60.80 rounded to 2 decimals
In order for your fish to count, you must submit a picture, the state record weight for the state the fish was caught in, and an accurate weight of the fish. You can submit fish caught in different States but only your highest score counts. Your fish must be submitted within one week of being caught. (No sandbagging) You may submit as many fish as you want as long as subsequently caught fish score higher. All fish must be submitted before 7 am on June 13th, 2011.

Hey A-Jay - I'm trying! I got that 9.06 (62.48 score) back in February but it was before the start of this contest. Just to have an entry - here's the biggest bass I've got since the contest officially started. This fish hit a lipless crank on April 5.
Weight - 5.42 pounds (22"), Tennessee state record - 14.5 pounds. 5.42/14.5x100 = 37.38.
Not a winning entry...but at least an entry!
I forgot to post mine from Monday on here. I wish I would have weighed my second fish, I think it might have been heavier but I forgot about this thread! Anyways 5.7/11.75x100=48.51, I guess I'm on the board at least.
Hopefully get a better one this week!
And there ya go ! Nice work guys - I'll get my first shot at it in just over 3 weeks. (Season Opener here) Thanks for keeping me motivated til then . . . . .

Iknow what you mean, my blood is just boiling to get out there and fish, i already got a gameplan and everything, but my tackle is in need of some serious organization so i guess that will keep me occupied for awhile...sigh, keep the monsters coming guys! help us get through final weeks of...boredom and irratability hehe
5Lbs 8oz on a Black Chatterfrog with a black Swinsenko trailer on one of my increasingly overfished condo ponds. (I consider it public because there is always someone fishing at any given hour.)
It's not a monster by Florida standards because I'm stuck fishing off the shore. Get my butt in a boat and I'll be posting bigger fish. I just wanted an official entry
5.5/17.25x100=31.88
YaY im on the board!! Heres my entry >>>> 5.5 lbs/16.2 SR= 33.95.
Here is my first smallie of this year. caught her yesterday on a jerkbait. She was 19.5 long. Weighed 5lb -7 oz.. That's 5.4375 divided by 8.50 Pa state record times 100 for a score of 63.97. A little motivation for A-Jay.

Hopefully I will be able to cull it? Its a start though! Maine Record smallmouth 8lbs even

New York
6 lbs 3 oz caught on a jig off a steep rock wall
6.1875/11.25x100=55
Really nice job, Dean!
It took me a while but i finally caught one worth entering in the competition. My partner was so tore up over the fish he cut my head off in the picture Anyway this fish wieghed 8lbs 2oz on my scale and the state record is 13lbs10oz
8.125/13.625x100 equals 59.63.
Just as a friendly reminder. You can't mix tenths with ounces. Divide the fishes weight in ounces by 16 ounces( to the pound) to get the proper decimal. bflow_6's 8lb- 2ounces fish is 2/16 for 8.125 divided by 13lb -10 ounces is 10/16 for 13.625. 8.125/13.625x100 equals 59.63.
The reigning champion has spoken. You keep em strait Dwight.
Heck of a nice fish right there, bflow.
Well, I got a few decent fish yesterday with one that was probably around 6 lbs but when I whipped out the scale it was dead. I did get a picture and posted it in the "My Fishing Trip" forum. See the thread below.
With the Missouri largemouth record at 13 lbs 14 oz I would have still been below 50 percent so I wouldn't be in the hunt for the win. Looks like there have been some 60 - 65 percent catches so we have our work cut out for us. I still have a month and a half and I replaced the battery in my scale today. Whoopee!
Here is an update from today. 5lb-12 oz smallie. 5.75 divided by 8.50 Pa record X100= 67.65

That thing is gorgeous!
Dwight is in it to win it!
I have a borderline unhealthy appreciation for the fish Dwight gets into.
Here is a new update from today May 4th. 5lb-15oz smallie that fought like a much bigger fish. 5.9375 divided by 8.50x100 =s 69.85.
This fish came in 15 minutes later, 6lb-3oz smallie. That's 6.1875 divided by 8.50 ( PA record) X100=s 72.79.
Simply incredible Dwight, you definitely have momentum on your side!
Good lord Dwight!
OK Dwight is disqualified. I'm not sure why, but I am working on a good reason.

Dwight's on a roll. Seventy two percent is going to be hard to beat. I don't want to say game over, but he's making it pretty tough. I just calculated 73 percent of the Missouri largemouth (13 lb 14 oz)and smallmouth (7 lbs 2 oz) records and I need to catch a 10 lb 2 oz largemouth or a 5 lb 2 oz smallmouth to pass him.
Just give me a chance to tighten the screws.....I'll be putting the pressure on Dwight. Heck, we might even join forces to destroy all your hopes, LOL.
Dwight should be disqualified...how can anyone compete with those monsters?
I'm on the Board - This sweet smallie lunched a 3/8 oz hand tied jig
Here's her score ~ 4.75/9.25 x 100 = 51.35
I'm happy but like everyone, I'm hoping to up grade.
Of course, Dwight has taken the "Up Grading" concept to a whole new level . . .

Dwight is to Smallies what Derek Jeter is to good looking women...
Dwight just catch a new state record smallie and put the case to rest....

Thanks - a whole pound huh ? I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
The PA state record smb is a bit smaller than the MI fish, so percentage wise we would have to find, hook and some how land that wild monster smallie that haunts your dreams every night . . .
Either way, I'm heading out again right now. Did I mention I really Love this retirement gig . . . .

I know that big smallmouth lives in Cadillac/Mitchell and it is now haunting not only my dreams but my wallet as the trip is going to cost me $80+ in truck fuel for each trip. I'm pretty sure that a few west coast lakes like Portage, Pentwater, or White Lake also holds a few brutes that could get up close to 70%.
I wish I could get out today, but I've got a bunch of work to get ready for the big Mother's Day cookout. Starting Monday though, I'm gonna try to get out every day.
And I'd gladly come up to spend some time with the pack, if you guys can handle the spoiled brats I'm going to leave you with. My motto is "Have Milkbone - Will Travel"!!!

Roger, I have only seen 2 fish caught over 12 in the last5 years. They are here, but not many of them. I love catching the 5ves though. She inhaled a frog in the light rain today. I was only about 50ft from the ramp with legoland in the background.

Right you are, and therein lies the joke
I never fish Summit but always head straight for the canal to Eloise.
Maybe I should rethink that strategy. You're certainly deadly with the frog,
even in that vodka-clear water

Here is a new update from today 5/12/11. Caught this sweetie on a jerk bait. My first fish of the day. She was 22.5 " X 16" girth. She weighed 6lbs-7oz. That's 6.4375 divided by 8.50 the PA state record X100 equals 75.74.

Finally got something worth posting. Got this prespawn girl last weekend on a t-rigged flappin hog. I was a little late for work that morning but it was worth it She weighed in at 6.9# on my scale. It was in Iowa where the record is 10.75 (don't laugh southern boys! haha).
6.9/10.75 X 100 = 64.19.
This seems to be the first entry from VA! We need to fish harder than this.
7 lbs 11 ozs on an LC Gunfish.
State record: 16 lbs 4 ozs.

but the truth is there is not enough time in this Season to top the Behemoths post up by that stick over in Erie, PA -

Agghhhh
I've been catching them, but nothing over 5lbs. With a state record of over 17lbs.. oh well. I'm still fishing, who knows.
Some very nice fish being posted. Congrats to all.
Come on people post ANY Fish. If you dont post something it goes down as a skunk. No way can I win against the small mouth guys, but what the hell. I AINT SKUNKED !!!! you got to show up to the weigh in.
Well, thankfully we were given an extension so we could fish this extra week and have a chance at beating the man with brown in his veins up in Erie. However, he has proven with about 12 of his fish that we were not going to beat him. I just finished a 5 day fishing trip in Minnesota. I live in Virginia and have not been able to fish in Minnesota for 2 years due to school but found a way to make it happen this year. My grandparents have a cabin up in Fergus Falls in Otter Tail county. When i arrived last Monday, the water temperatures for our bigger bass lakes were at 57-59 degrees. That was a SERIOUS bummer to see that given we only had 5 days. The reeds and lilly pads had not come up yet and we were kinda forced to fish a little differently. There were a few lakes that we fish that had temperatures at 61 in the beginning of the week. Surprisingly, during this week, in just one week the temperatures climbed up 8 degrees giving us a fighting chance (even though the vegetation was not quite compact yet). Either way, me, my brother and brother in law were able to catch some pretty good fish but had few numbers. We are used to 100 fish days up there and the most we caught in one outing was 61. Nevertheless, we had a ton of 4 pounders, several 5 pounders, and then my big fish which weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces at "Bens Bait Tackleshop". We had a great time, i won big fish of the week and got my free hat and $5 from the bait shop saying "Winner". Fun as always since we are always pretty competitive. The local paper puts the winning fish in the paper every Wednesday so hopefully my old man who just got there will be able to pick it up to post on our bragging board in the cabin. Had he of been there, it might have been a different story since he is just so dang good. So, with a 6 pound 10 ouncer, that puts me at 6.625 divided by 8.9375= 0.741259 giving me 74.1259 %. Yeh i know i know, Dwight cleaned it with 12 different fish but at least i nibbled at his heels with my lone ranger.
brother was filming it and never got the whole fish in the video so this is the stills from two different videos
Great looking fish Shimmy!
Do farm ponds count? The one I fish was stocked decades ago and the fish aren't fed.
I fished one a few days ago that I get quality fish at every time.
No pics this time, but if I can get there again before this ends I am hoping to get my PB.
I know it's in there, but she's very elusive.
WTG Shimmy! I always knew you were a player.

It's not a skunk just because someone didn't post. It just means they know the fish they caught isn't close to winning the competition. An 8 lb Florida largemouth isn't even close. I caught one around 6 lbs in Missouri and posted the picture but I didn't weigh it because my scale's battery had died, but even then, that is less than 50 percent in Missouri. Dwight and Shimmy are sitting at 74 plus percent. It will take a real statewide chunk to beat that.
Well I got a good upgrade but not a winner. If it was a lake record we were going for I would be golden because I was only 10 ounces off. Got a nice 4.18 pound smallmouth this morning. State record is 6.88 so 4.18/6.88=.607 so 60%. A ways to go to catch Dwight but at least it was a step forward!
