I am sure Glenn will have a backup of it somewhere. He was up all night working on this so I'm sure he's sleeping. You should see all the new admin stuff we have to learn.

Same here my man. I'm using Safari as a browser...
forum looks good. Just gonna take time to get used to and learn what all this new stuff does.
For those of you with the scroll bar problem, change your screen resolution to at least 1024X768 pixels. This should correct your problem.
Glenn, a VERY nice job.
Thanks guys.
For the "centering" issue. The new layout uses more width, which means for a few folks you'll need to adjust one of two things (or possibly both).
1. Way, waaaay up in the upper right corner of your browser, click the button right next to the red X (should be the middle button - looks like a square).
2. If that doesn't fix it, then right-click anywhere on a clear area on your desktop (not an icon) and select "properties" from the menu. Now click the "settings" tab. Now change the screen resolution to something OTHER than 800x600 (I recommend 1280x1024) and click "ok", then follow the instructions in the prompts. Things will seem really small to you at first, but try it out for awhile. Once you get used to it, you won't want to go back!
Please note I'm working on a few glitches that affect only people who stored past personal messages, myself included.
Also, please click the Help link above to learn how to use the new features.
Reelmech - you're absolutely wrong. Dialup and 800x600 screen resolutions are things of the past. You're in a very small minority (about 5%).
I just subscribed to the feeds. Its great. Now I can check on all the latest post without checking each section of the forum.
I like the new look. Thanks for all your hard work Glenn.
Like a few others, there are alot of new features that I don't even know what they mean. (very computer challenged)
Now I have to go plow 8" of snow.

Hey Glenn,
FWIW, I'm on a Mac laptop (1440x960 res) and am seeing the horizontal scrollbar issue on both Firefox 2.0 (2.0.0.11) and Safari 3.0. Also, overall the page layout looks a bit off*, which is what I believe is causing the horiz. scroll bar to show. I don't really care about Safari, but the previous version laid out perfectly in FF on the Mac.
*It looks to me almost like there could be unclosed div(s) (or something like that) in the updated layout markup. Or maybe it's an odd CSS bug. I know that various iterations IE can be much more forgiving of some of these issues than Firefox or Safari (which are truly "standards compliant" browsers).
Anyway, I'd be glad to provide some screenshots if you like.
~Rich
To all experiencing the "horizontal scroll" issue that have changed your screen settings and are still seeing the problem. Please clear your cache, close all browser windows, and then restart your browser.
i like the new layout. no problems here yet. its different but im sure i'll get used to it.
This seams like the place to post any quirks / bugs. A small one I noticed is the all button only brings up the first page of a topic instead of all the pages like it used to. I am not experiencing the page width scroll issue though.
Thanks for all the hard work Glenn.
QuoteTo all experiencing the "horizontal scroll" issue that have changed your screen settings and are still seeing the problem. Please clear your cache, close all browser windows, and then restart your browser.
Sorry Glenn still no luck! I know you will get it
How do a erase my Cache?
Glenn,
You did awesome on the changes... This is absolutely fantastic. Love it. Keep up the good work. As always BR rocks due to your hard work. (and lack of sleep I am sure)
I'm using Firefox also, and I don't get a horizontal scroll bar but the forums seem to be...off a bit...
for example....
my resolution is 1280x1024, but don't tell me to "turn my resolution down" this is the native res of my monitors and a website should be developed for most resolutions...
good job on the site also!
The new site looks AWESOME. I like most of the guys (and gals) here really appreciate all the hard work you;ve done for us to make the site better, newer, cooler, and easier to navigate. Like anything new, there will always be minor issues to deal with, and dealt with they will be I am sure.
Thanks for all that you do for us Glenn and BR team!
This is what the guys with the scroll problem see...
i dont have to scroll side to side but it seems to take a while for the pages to load now.
Where am I? : 8-)
Thanks for the hard work Glenn
i like the new look
Firefox/Opera users, I'm aware of the issue. But please keep in mind that less than 17% of visitors here do not use IE, so the issue will be prioritized accordingly.
Again, the scrolling issue is resolved by clearing your cache and restarting your browser.
I do not have the time to provide computer support here. Look up "clearing cache" on Google to learn how to do it. Again, key is to close your browser and restart after clearing cache.
NJBassDevil3254 - looks like you may have a Norton firewall setting that blocks ads. Nothing I can do about that here.
Hey Glenn: I adjusted the pixels, I cleared the cache and i still have a space about 5 or six inches on the forums only Ther articles, Home page etc all OK . Alpster called and he had one of his computers onto IE-7 and he saw the same thing. I am sorry and not hurrying you just telling I even did all you said and a restart to no avail.
I think you're seeing what you're supposed to see. The forums WILL NOT CENTER on your page any longer. They are flush right by design. See screenshot below.
You should not need to scroll left-right, however.
Got it !!!!! NORTON AD/ Blocker , turned it off and all is well!!!!!!!! When I come here I have to turn it off first. All I was seeing was a whited out space, so I defeated both the ad and Pop up blocker and the scroll bar dissapeared!
Muddy, add BR to your trusted site list on Norton and all will be fine. I am running IE 7 and Norton Internet Security and DSL and have no issues at all. If I knew how to take a screen shot I would show you what mine looks like.
Blaine,
Yo Blaine how do I do that, I can't fiind where to ad trusted site
Thanks Dominick
PSI see the place tio do it. It's not email do I click Domain, what is the address I need to insert
QuoteI think you're seeing what you're supposed to see. The forums WILL NOT CENTER on your page any longer. They are flush right by design. See screenshot below. You should not need to scroll left-right, however.
This might just be a Firefox issue...but mine seems to be flush left, as you can see in the picture.
Tools-Internet Options-Security-Trusted Sites- Add www.bassresource.com
Yup! The Norton change worked! Thanks Muddy and Glenn!!
It's in the Norton not IE-7
Sent ya a PM Muddy.
I get a full screen view on ie7 but on mozilla, my preferred browser i still have to scroll.
I have the resolution set at 1280x1064, i cleared the cache, my norton protection does not include ad pop up blocker so it is not active, I added Bassresource.com as an exception to my firefox toolbar pop up blocker.
any other firefox users have any more suggestions? this truly sucks.

Refresh your browser (CTRL+R). I've made a partial fix for "other" browsers.
[begin rant]
This is why I hate Firefox. If you're a developer... you hate it. It's extremely unforgiving, causing to you to re-code entire sections of a site (like now) for one cosmetic issue for a minority of visitors. At least IE is smart enough to understand variances in coding styles.

very cool upgrade glenn

And that's exactly why WE LOVE YOU !! :-* :-* :-*
PS - Is now a bad time to mention that threads with multiple pages of posts no longer have an "all" button for viewing the enitre thread? :-X
I like the new look! Good job Glenn!
I removed the "all" links because, it turns out, that was a major cuplprit for the slowness.
New look BR works great from this end. Love it!
Thanks Glenn!
I have several problems.
One, about halfway down the screen the posts go from centered to left justify.
and B, on my CP there is several pages of blank space as I scroll down to see anything.
Neither a biggie but they are irritating. I love the new look otherwise.
Also I am one of the 17 percent of second class citizens that refuse to use IE.
I like the new forum look, but I have been trying to PM Catt all day and I get some crazy error message. This is what it says

THANK YOU GLENN 8-)
WOW!!! This new look is SWEET!!!
Well Done Glenn!!!
QuoteAlso I am one of the 17 percent of second class citizens that refuse to use IE.
That's a Mozilla thing. (Left justify). I switched back to IE, all better.
I noticed that the "GO" button is missing on the link box at the bottom that says >> General Bass Fishing. I used to click on that to get back to the main forum page.
Look to the left and click "board" instead.

Yea I have the same issue not huge just mildly annoying. I am running 2Macs and 1 PC all using the latest version of FF. It will get fixed when it gets fixed. Love the new features and look. Great work as always Glenn!!!
Many Thanks...
It now appears to be fixed in both FF and Mac Safari. Awesome Glenn!
Glenn the sight is looking good
I just got back from fishing for four days. What a change. Nice!
Nice job Glenn. With all changes in life we need to get used to things.
Appreciate all you do for the fishing community.
Glenn,
Nice job on the new look. I have several issues and don't know if they have been covered. In the top tool bar, "Home" and "Fishing Forums" text is the same color green as the box it's in. I tried switching the color schemes in IE for visited websites but had no luck.
Also, the search function doesn't work. I did several searches on easy to find words and the search came up empty.
Thanks for all your hard work.
