Guess the weight
*Note-Fish is not held in the typical LBH pose. She is close to his body, tricky.
Just a little shy of 22-4.
8-)
Yep. If he'd have just fully extended his arms straight out I couldn't tell the difference.
Back in your balcony you two!!...,.......anyone else?
5
6-2
4 1/2 Lbs
5 1/4
Busting out over the 4 and a half guess. I may end up looking silly for typing that but that fish has to be bigger than that
6lbs 7oz
It is tricky and I don't feel confident in determining the length either because of the angle of the fish. I'll go with 4 1/2 to 5 1/2.
5lb 12oz
5.3 lbs
6.5
6
4-14
5ish
6.2
i'm gonna go a different route and say it's a lil over 4 pounds... I think too many people overestimate their fish.
Russ: 120 lbs, if he has a brick in each pocket ;D
Fish: Aound 4 lbs
QuoteRuss: 120 lbs, if he has a brick in each pocket ;DFish: Aound 4 lbs
More telling than the unknown distance between fish and angler, is the angler's hands.
The fish and the angler's hands are always on the same plane, and to me his hands look large.
4 lbs tops.
Roger
3-8.

that's what I used to determine a rough length estimate. Unless this guy is like 7 feet tall and has huge monster hands, that fish is not as big as it "seems".
The last fish I caught was 5lbs even and this one looks bigger to me. I may be way off but I'm gonna go with 6.0lbs.
5.75
:yelling from the balcony: I'll say 5ish to 5 1/4 ish :/yelling from the balcony:
4.5 tops
4-4...and it's not his PB unless he beat the other one by 2 ounces. The IGFA said so.
5.43
6.8 the fish looks tall and thick
5.5 lbs plus or minus 2 ozs.
5 lbs 2 oz.
That's the same fish in both pics right? Some guys are guessing as if it's two different fish.
ill go with 5.9
5lb 1oz
4lb. 11oz.
4.785421669563
6lb 11oz. Are there door prizes?? HeHe! 8-)
I've never seen a 4 pound bass where I could stick my entire fist in it's mouth. That fish I could stick my fist in it's mouth easily. I wanna guess about 5.1 pounds, but I have a sneaking suspicion its 6.10.
7 lbs.
5.5
5. 11 lbs
6.75
7.0
4.75 final answer
5.67
4.5...
4-11
5-15
im gonna say 7-13 cause that guy has huge hands
I'm going with 7.5lbs... that close to the body you can just about tell the length and from the girth... well, it's a HAWG either way
I would guess from the pic for that fish to be somewhere between 15-19 inches. unless i'm way off on my math, good chance it's in that range. I really don't think this is as big as other people think. when will we find out?

I was thinking 20 or 20.5 inches based on measuring my hand but he may have larger hands than me. That would put it between 4 and 5 lbs.
Give it up, Russ! What is the weight?
that's my exact thought... between 4-5.
The suspense is killing me. Time to give up the answer!!!!!!
We'll never know. The claim was "over 7"
I say absolutely no way. Between 4-5.
(and the angler is my size plus a couple lbs)
i would almost bet a that it's not over 7lbs lol.
I don't even think its over 4. I get truly irritated by ridiculous claims. It totally diminishes the true lunkers.
Seven-pound bass that we've had in our boat all looked huge, no matter how they were held.
Three of my fingers would never cover that much of a seven-pound bass.
I still see a four-pounder, either that or I need a new scale (Oh that's right, my scale is new).
Roger
I'd like to think that from 1-6 lbs, I can get it within 1/2 a lb
My legal guess is 4.25-4.75 TOPS
I'd buy 7lbs.
Not by a lot, but I would buy it.
this thread is proof that no one should estimate the size of their fish lol. 7 pounds???? come on. not even close. Maybe I see things differently because I do video and video editing for a living. But take a look at this video (not done by me) and notice how much different the fish looks while taking it out of the water, and then holding it up. start at about 2:18 and watch. Notice anything? Still think it's a 7 pound fish?
Although the actual weight of this bass is unknown, that's a good thing in my view.
The lesson learned from this post is far more important than who was close, and who was not close.
In retrospect, the visual estimates ranged from 3lb 8oz up to 7lb 13oz, a deviation of 123 percent! (not too kool)
This drives home the point that visual weight estimates are infested with rampant inaccuracy.
If you finally land that Big Toad that got away last week, it may prove to be a very humbling experience :-[
Roger
Quotei would almost bet a that it's not over 7lbs lol.
I don't know if I would go as far to say that!!!!
haha, i did say almost though! but yea, i'm pretty confident in that.
Compare that picture to one of a bass I caught this year. Its a similar picture. How big do you think mine looks? I actually did weigh this fish with a scale. Do you think it looks bigger or smaller than the pic in the original post?
at a quick glance i'd say it's approx the same, It's tough to pinpoint exactly without knowing the size of your hands, but i think they're pretty close. The way a picture is taken can be deceiving, because a picture does not capture and image the same way your eye sees/analyzes it. If i told you the fish in my avatar was bigger than both of these, you would probably call me a liar. It's only because there's nothing to reference how big the fish is.

I would also say that it is the same, maybe a tad smaller.

He's your size? That changes everything.
How much does your average aquarium guppy weigh?

wouldn't that totally suck to be on the 5 th annual roadtrip and come out the first morning to find your trailer on blocks and your wheels hanging 30 ft up in the trees? Keep 'em coming :-*
5 1/2

Planning on enlisting the help of some tall friends to help you with the high places?
:running/:
7 lbs. even , looks are deceiving , the bass in my avatar is 7 lbs. 6 ozs. , doesn't look it but it is ....... and im gonna guess that the fish in the second photo is your pb of 5lb. 14 oz. ...
As good as you may think you are you cannot accurately guess the weight of a fish from a picture. There are too many variables.
Not to be a jerk, but I just caught a 6lber, and it was quite a bit bigger. I would think about 5lbs... Maybe 4... It's pretty hard to tell...

Are you talking about mine or the original post?
looks like he's flicking me off in the first pic, lol, but i would say 6.5lbs
If that thing is over 4 then Elvis and MJ are still with us.

You're right it is my pb of 5lb 14oz. One thing to note is that I'm holding my bass further away from my body than the guy in the original post and his still looks pretty big. Here's another pic of my bass. To me it looks bigger when I hold it like this:
Biggest I've caught is MAYBE 2 1/2 . I am the biggest loser.
