favorite plastic company 2024

fishing user avatarbasser223 reply :

ok whats your favorite plastic company and why.

I really like Zoom because they are cheap, have a good variety and they catch lots of fish.

fishing user avatarB A S S E R reply :

I like zoom alot also. I also like the strike king plastics and the cheap bass pro brand. So I guess I'm not a fanboy of one plastic company.

fishing user avatarhmongkidBee reply :

as of right now the STRIKE KING RAGE TAILS are my favorite plastics.  The amount of action and water they displace is unbelievable.

fishing user avatarMSAJAA reply :

I catch more fish on Gary Yamamoto plastics than any other bait

fishing user avatarDRhodes reply :

Rage Tails

fishing user avatarbigfruits reply :

its hard to pick a favorite, but if i could only use one brand id go with yamamoto.

fishing user avatarHot n Tot reply :

Zoom is my favorite. Especially for the Trick Worms, Finesse worms and Super Flukes. But I also like Yamamoto alot, they just don't seem durable to me.

I'm just starting to use the Rage Tails, and ordered some from Tackle Warehouse that I couldn't find locally.

fishing user avatarBlue Streak reply :

You probably would have found more information using the search feature. This has been done many times before. I think you will learn that any of them is somebody's favorite.

fishing user avatarNice_Bass reply :

I have found fish hang on the most to Powerbait products, used the rage tail products however,...eh well nevermind.  Berkley all the way.

fishing user avatarmrbassky reply :

I use alot of Yamamoto baits but Reaction Innovations makes more baits I cant do without.

Sweet Beavers

Skinny Dippers

Big Unit

Flirt worm

Boom Boom tube

Those are some great baits.  ;)

fishing user avatardh88hms reply :

SK Ragetail but Yamamoto is a close second.

fishing user avatarmrbassky reply :

If its a question of who makes the highest quality baits and not the most variations the cheapest then I have to go with Reaction Innovations.  ;)

fishing user avatarNebraska Bassin reply :

I've had the best luck on the original Zipper worms.  Other than that, I like Zoom and Netbait.

fishing user avatarBig Tom reply :

I find myself fishing Zoom more than any other plastic.  They just have so many options.

You can get Zoom baits pretty much anywhere that sells fishing stuff, too.

I've gained a lot of confindence in the watermelon colored 5" lizards I bought at a local department store.  If I run out (and oh yes, I will run out  ;D) I can go get more dirt cheap.

fishing user avatarHammer 4 reply :

Kinda tough to pick just one co...

Ragetail aka Strikeking.

Zoom

GYBC

Those would be my top 3.  ;)

fishing user avatarfmoore reply :

Powerbait all the way. I have so much confidence in using them without any additional scents.

fishing user avatarIncheon Basser reply :

the classics

berkely

zoom

culprit

new kids

chomppers

big bite

netbait

and me lol

fishing user avatarguitarkid reply :

It is a three way tie between: Zoom, Fish Stalker, and Deep Creek Lure co.

Yep. I've probably caught more fish on a Zoom product than any other company.

fishing user avatarbasscrusher reply :

Definitely Zoom for me.  They are relatively cheap, they offer almost every style I'd use other than beavers and senkos, they have every color known to man, they're probably the softest plastic of any non-custom brand, and the appendages move better than most other brands (like the tails on Powerbait lizards, which don't move in the water.)

fishing user avatarHornytoad 10 reply :

ZOOM!, rage tail, and GYCB

fishing user avatarPrimus reply :

Zoom & GYCB, though there are others that I like as well.

fishing user avatar8assh0le reply :

WAVE. It's all about the MOLOPO.

fishing user avatarBassThumb reply :

If I had to pick one, Berkley Powerbait, because of the ribbontail worms, shakey worms, chigger craws, and walleye grubs.

Otherwise, I like bits and pieces from Zoom, GYCB, Netbait, Venom, Reaction Innovations, and Rage Tail.

fishing user avatarflipinstick88 reply :

If I had to choose one it would be Berkley Power Bait.

The fish really do hold on to the Berkley scent and flavor a long time. ;)

fishing user avatarCatt reply :

Gene Larew & Rage Tail ;)

fishing user avatarnern reply :

Powerbait here. It gives my tackle box that wonderful aroma and gets me plenty of strikes.

fishing user avatartaptap reply :

Berkley and GYCB all day!

fishing user avatarDeanFishesNY reply :

Mostly Gander Mountain plastics. They tend to be more durable and catch fish just as well as any other plastic. I also like Zoom brush hogs, super hogs, flukes.

fishing user avatarK_Mac reply :

Up until the last few years Zoom would easily have been my choice. I use several others, but Netbait is a strong contender for the top spot.

fishing user avatarflorida strain reply :

#1 zoom

#2 jethro bait co

I'm starting to gain a lot of confidence in the Netbait paca craws.  I tried a Zoom lizard this morning and didn't even get a strike, busted out a paca and caught 15 in an hour and a half.

fishing user avatarSteve1357 reply :

I like Big Bite Baits because they are better and cheaper than Zoom. Academy is the only place I've seen them though..

;)

fishing user avatarflippin and pitchin reply :

Yesterday was clean up the boat and sort tackle day, so based on bag counts:

YUM

ZOOM

Strike King

Yamamoto

Big Bite

Reacation Innovations

Outlaw Baits

Dry Creek

Assorted odds and ends

fishing user avatarhitchhiker reply :

I like Roboworms for my finesse presentations, but recently I have found myself putting on Strike King baits (Rage Tails, and the super stretchy finesse worms) more and more often.

If I had to take my top few

Robos

Strike King

Berkley

Grande Bass

fishing user avatarbigtimfish reply :

1.Big Bite Baits  2.Grande Bass  3.BPS (12" squirmin worms, tube darts, crack craws, and flippin craws) 4. Lake Fork Tackle

fishing user avatarTrippyJai reply :

***

Zoom

Gary Yamamoto

Powerbait

I haven't had much success with the rage tail products yet.

fishing user avatarMattlures reply :

Berkley, Robo, and Rage

fishing user avatarMono Man in IL reply :

Charlie Brewer sliders because they still catch fish as good as when I started fishing them 35 years ago.  My #1 go to bait. ;)

fishing user avatarSPEEDBEAD. reply :

In no particular order:

***

Ragetail

Zoom

Yamamoto (Flappin' Hog and Shad Shape worm)

fishing user avatarskeet8 reply :

Yum,,, but after reading all these posts I think I'm going to switch.

fishing user avatarBassin_MO reply :

1. Zoom

2. Berkley Powerbait

3. Luck 'E' Strike

Are what I have the most bags of. Then, just a bunch of random brands.

fishing user avatarbasser223 reply :

No that I've seen your guy's oppinions I've took the to 5 and made a pole

fishing user avatarBankbeater reply :

I use Zoom more than anything else.

fishing user avatar#pat_walker_fishing reply :

I have tons of soft plastics and I would have to say ZOOM!

I believe they have the truest best colors, they are durable, and you get more for your money in a bag. They have the most variety of lures and styles. The only issue i have with them is that they dont use any sent. I will say this, i will only use strike king tubes. there the best in that dept.

fishing user avatartritz18 reply :

I would say yamamoto but they are so expensive, other than that I am really starting to like netbaits.

fishing user avatarGangley reply :

ZOOM, but Berkley is a very close second.   Heck, I might have that backwards, I like them both A LOT.

fishing user avatarCWB reply :

Not just Strike King Rage but Strike King Period. Perfect plastic Ocho is every bit as good as a senko and the shimmy stick is pretty darn close for less. Perfect Plastics are great and I still like the Elazteck baits.

Coffee Tubes and Shadalicious also, not to mention the rage baits, which no other company comes close to. I do use others but have found S.K. makes just about everything I need.

Can't go wrong with S.K.

fishing user avatariceintheveins reply :

I like all of the above, but for me, Zoom just edges out Gary Yamamoto.

fishing user avatarskunked_again reply :

"other" should be an option on your pole.

x2 on Deep Creek Lures

fishing user avatarbassman018 reply :

I just really like zoom because they are only 2-3 bucks a pack I can get a variety of them and the have all the kinds I need except for senkos...

fishing user avatarTriton21 reply :

Big O's Rage Tail!!!!

I use a few other S K products but the majority of my plastics are ZOOM.

Kelley

fishing user avatarGRiver reply :

I like Zoom ...I can get them most any where and you have to admit they do catch fish...Netbait is my second....Love those paca chunk on a jig head the smallies love them.

G

fishing user avatarbearhunter reply :

I had to vote for zoom from the choices. I used to like R.I. but after they changed plastics i do not fish them anymore. I think zoom is the best all around company even though i use baits from the other companies but mostly i throw hand pours.

fishing user avatarWanderLust reply :

Went through (2) bags of Yum 4" Dingers in watermelonseed on Friday... It was unreal.

I picked GYBC just because I caught more fish using senkos...

fishing user avatarMicro reply :

If I could only go with one, it would be Zoom. But where would we be without Yamamoto and Roboworm? The Wright Bait Company makes the best Senko knock-offs I've tried.

fishing user avatarTourPT reply :

My favorite was Charlies Worms but they are no longer in biz so I would have to say Zoom and or Netbait.

fishing user avatarVABassin'14 reply :

I voted Rage Tail, but only because Wave Fishing wasn't a choice.

fishing user avatarGSU_LipRipper reply :

while i love zoom and you can get them any where! ( dont get me wrong zoom baits can catch you fish just about anywhere!) i still like yamamoto! personally i like the plastic alot better than zooms

fishing user avatargrimlin reply :

I have favorite baits by certain companies....I don't have a favorite company because too many companies make/sell great baits.

fishing user avatarBig Bait Fishing reply :

for referring to plastic worms , Robo worms is the best , hands down !!! the best dropshot , shakey head , texas rigged worms on the market  ;)

fishing user avatarBASSclary reply :

While i am a HUGE ZOOM! fan, YUM makes a close second with Yamamoto 3rd and Powerbait 4th! ;)
