I'm merely curious, are there any Rebel-heads on this board? I have a very small collection but have a real soft spot for the wee r's, deep wee r's, and the plastics. The majority will never see the water and will stay right on the dedicated Rebel board In the fishing room. Rebel-heads, sound off here.
Nice stuff. All made in usa also. i have some rebel redneck plastics you have any of them?

Maxximus, look at the 3rd picture from the left. Are you talking about the waterdog type baits called the redneck?
Yes i see now yay niceeee
Been using there crawdad crank a long time.Really great river bait.
I have a couple of deep divers from back in the late 70's, early 80's period. Also have an old chrome/purple humpback. I use to use them all of the time. Now they are in the tackle box only for show.
I had a good selection of Deep Wee'Rs for smallmouth fishing on Lake George, NY in the '70s and '80s. We'd troll them over humps and shoals to find the fish. I think I still have a couple in my tackle box.
Your collection looks great!
Tight lines,
Bob
I'm a die hard fan of the rebel F30s in gold/black for the big girls up shallow. I bought ten of them a couple years ago when they started making them again. My grandpa bought a crate of them back in the 80's. He still has most of them.
One of my most favorite cranks is a Rebel: Rebel Tiny Frog, man that thing catches even the sand as it swims, cheap, pretty and effective ( at a much more affordable price when compared to the Megabass Type X ).
I have won or placed in many tournaments fishing a Rebel Deep Wee Craw in chartreuse and a J20 broken back minnow in perch pattern.

I bought one of those when i bought my first ever batch of fishing tackle, at age 9 or so. It was my favorite lure; so highly prized I hardly ever used it. I still have it, but nowadays I still hardly use it.
I love my Rebel Wee Craws. That's why it pains me so much to have lost my two favorites to low-hanging branches on the local stream, recently. Gonna replace them, first chance I get. Nothing has netted me more Smallies than the Wee Craws.
The crickhopper works great on panfish and trout. Also my brother uses the Pop-R quite a bit for bass of course. Haven't had much time to use mine though. Did have a tiny pike crush it though. Probably gonna use it quite a bit next year.
Rebel minnow 1pc.
Rebel 2pc minnow
Rebel crawfish crankbaits
Rebel crankbaits
Red Necks... my favorite worm ever.
Now we're talkin'. The Rebel craw, Wee-R, Deep wee-R, minnow, and Pop-R have been among my staples for years, although I've retired my last few old wee-rs and deep wee-rs. I still had some unused rednecks not long ago in green and red, but don't know what happened to them. Bummer.
I like Rebel Deep Wee R's a lot but am down to two in funky Color C Lector red and green . I have a coup;e of Double deep Wee R's and Deep Maxi R's along with a naturalized Baby Bass .Theres a couple others lying around .
A Deep Wee R in silver/blue is the first crank I ever owned. It sure caught a lot of bass because in the 80's all I used was this and a 6" purple worm.
I have a jointed minnow that seems to do a good job of culling small pond bass.
I love the Wee Craws and I have a Crick Hopper and Bumble Bugs. These do well in creeks.
I use the cricket hopper and poppers pond hoping in the summer almost exclusively. It will get bit by anything and everything in a small body of water. The cricket hopper in the bright green color is my favorite but hard to find locally

The Wee Craws are killer baits for big 'gills too. I keep a good supply of both the deep divers and shallow divers on hand.
Their little squarebills that Wal-Mart sells for $1.50 are great for shallow bass.
Tom
Color C Lector?? I have five combo c lectors. Some are brand new. I have the early color c lector too.
Explain. They made numbered lures to match what color the combo c lectors or color c lector chose.
Someday ill buy the spike it color selector too.

Some of the biggest panfish I've ever caught were on a Teeny Craw. I love it in rivers and streams because it catches all bass and big sunfish.
This particular Rebel was a humpy before they named It a Humpy, early 60's Is what I've been told. It's the black bait on the right. The other Is an older floater. If you'll notice on the humpy the screw that attaches the lip to the bait Is from the top down, a few years later they started Inserting the screw In the bottom. Just an FYI.

I seen the gaudy plain colors that the combo c electors picked. I think the newer lure colors preform way better with the color c lectors. KVD uses one on tough days.
I use to have a lot more . I lost them too snags .
The old Rebel minnow with the thatch work pattern on the side. I have snetched many up off ebey. Them things are killers.
There's a rebel hump back crank?? I think there gold finish looks great

Bill, even though I don't fish them much the humpback Is a classic design.
I'll post a few pictures of some real nice humpbacks tonight when I get home from work.
Here you go Bill, a few humpbacks and a small number of baits I received today. The Rebel spinnerbait Is a bait I have always wanted. Rebel baits, good stuff!
Here you go Bill, some nice humpbacks. I really like the crawdad! I also received a few baits In the mail today, the spinnerbait Is one I've always wanted!
Edit: sorry for the double pictures, something went wrong on the site.lol
Here's a couple of new pictures. The first being an older Rebel tackle box I bought a few days ago and the second a rudimentary shadow box with a few of my favorite Rebel baits.
Very nice collection, I got my 1st Rebel (Super Teeny Wee R) in a discount bin some years back and it out-fishes cranks that cost over twice as much. I give the same praise to the Rebel Minnow. Those two lures definitely gave me a lot of confidence in the Rebel name.
I'm not a collector but I can definitely appreciate what you have here, especially when it seems like most guys around my age are always looking for the latest and greatest. I think a lot of them forget these type of lures were catching fish since before some of us were even born.
The Deep Wee R was such a good bait that I dont understand why it fell out of favor with anglers .The one improvement they could make is move the front hook hanger forward . The hooks get tangled ,
I am not much of a crank-guy, but I have had good luck with the teeny wee craws. Caught a decent number of panfish and, surprisingly, some larger white perch. However, I have decide that those little trebles hurt the fish too much so I haven't replaced the last one I lost. I wish they either offered them in single hook or I could figure out a way to give them a single, slightly larger barbless treble.
I also have a bunch of their single barbless hook lures, and when they work I get a real kick out of them, but it seems like only maybe 1 in 4 runs right and I haven't figured out a way to tune them yet.
So are you looking for more baits? I have a bunch of older Rebels that I will never use that I can trade.
Allen
Rebel fans in our house. My best popper is an old "zell rowland" (transferred on) autographed pop-r. Love all of their other pop-r's too.
Also really like the action of the wee-r and deep wee-r, and so do bass and panfish around north Georgia. The deep wee-r is great in rocky spots because it deflects off the long bill. The old "crawfish" wee-r color wouldn't cut it for a modern Megabass or Luckycraft, but when you see that brown blur go past among the rocks, looks like it might be a craw to me, and apparently good enough for the bass too.
Wee-r lures sometimes come available in bargain bins in the spring at Walmarts. I guess they do limited runs of big quantities even though they no longer sell them at regular retail.
Meant to add, if you like Rebel stuff, the company has a great facebook page to follow. Pretty much every day they post pics of old and new baits, recent catches, and discuss fishing areas. I follow them so I can get my daily dose of Rebel eye candy and check out their positive comments. Their facebook page extols the virtues of getting kids fishing and protecting the resource.
Sure, its part of their marketing, but it's a whole lot more enjoyable to check out a bunch of lures and positive comments, than some of the other negative stuff out there in other media.
I also like the fact that their lures are affordable and work. I admire fancy lures as much as the next angler, but like that someone is producing effective, cool-looking, easy-to-use baits that are accessible to pretty much anybody.
Snake, good posts! Rebelheads unite!
I'll add more as time goes by but I have a close to finished dedicated Rebel wall. Enjoy Rebelheads!
I can't say I'm a rebel head but there are some that I really like. Back in the day the Rebel Crawfish in black with a chartreuse belly was a must have for river smallmouth, no matter how bad the fishing, that bait would always manage to make them bite. I also have some old cranks that weren't popular but they won me money consistently when fishing tournaments and this was also in the early 90s. The cranks were called the "Crank'R" and they were translucent with a lot of glitter, nobody used them except for me it seemed and the largemouth would hammer them but the downside was durability, they would crack on rocks easily. I still have some Rebels baits that I use a lot, like the Super Pop'R, it is long but only weighs 5/16oz, the tin profile is perfect for river fishing because it lets me scoot the bait across the current quick with still looking somewhat natural. The newest member is the Frog'R, a killer little walk the dog bait that is easier to walk than a Zara puppy and has a more compact profile yet still attracts big fish. I'm not a Rebel head but I do like a lot of their baits, old and new.

Munkin, yes, let's talk trade!
This Is a bait I have wanted for quite some time! I know It doesn't look like much but It really Is quite rare!
Found these while searching for something else. I have some Rebel hump cranks as well but I need to get some pics.

If I can find them in shallow, stained water in winter or early spring, the little rebel floater minnow kills them. My previous PB was caught on that bait, she was 24" long and hit about the 10th time I ran it through a laydown I always catch fish out of. First week of March 3 years ago.
Aaaaaand I just found one at wal mart in old packaging that I assume just never sold, it's chrome sexy Shad that I don't think they make anymore!
Good thread! I'm a huge fan of Rebel, but I don't have a collection nearly as good as that! The Rebel Crawfish crank is one of my all-time favorites and a must to have with me at all times.
1972 caught my first bass & my first 15 bass limit on Toledo Bend with blue ringworms.
I still throw ringworms today!
Another color that I'm quite fond of In the older, no longer made Rebel "R" series is called Black Perch. It's got red, black, sometime orange.... I have a few duplicates and I might actually fish one of the deep wee r's this Spring. I only have the one double deep otherwise I would throw one this Summer.
I have noticed that In a good number of the older(pre 1985) Rebel R series baits there seemed to be a coloration difference in two completely Identical baits. It's kind of cool. I don't know a verified reason for this but have been told when two different folks were painting sometimes they were different. I'm not sure I buy that but I did want to pass along a little here and there.
Catt, I, on occasion, have had a pack break open and I can't resist the urge to throw a few ringworms for posterity. They simply catch fish. I fish a ton of Zoom ringworm type baits a lot.
A few newly purchased baits and an article on the ringwoms reprinted from Bassmaster magazine from 1976! A big thanks to forum member team9 for sending me the article, It will be framed soon and on the Rebel wall!

Huge assortment of rebel stuff, and I love the sign in the first pic to!
The chartreuse teeny wee craw is by far my favorite bluegill crankbait. When the person I'm taking fishing wants to get bigger gills this is my go to lure. Caught some good bass on it too.
A few NIP Rebel spinnerbaits! To me these are durn cool! Rebelheads unite!
Not sure why, but I always had a bias against rebel lures.
It might go back to the eighties when I had trouble catching bass on them
but the rapala's worked fine.
I do admit to catching the biggest trout of my life on a wee craw
A few plastics I got the other day! I love the Ringworms! There are more but for some reason there's been a limit placed.

I have no Idea why but this didn't move to the first page. ?

Some crazy colors in there that would probably never get fished now that everything has to be ultra realistic. I bet they'd still catch plenty of fish though.
A few crankbaits I got the other day. There's nothing spectacular about these but I think the Mudpuppy color Is pretty cool! The TN Shad bait at the bottom Is one of my favorite fishers!
Whitwolf . Have you ever seen the add in Bassmaster magazine that showed how almost all the top pros at a particular tournament were using Rebel lures for that event ?
The craws are one of my all time favorite catch anything baits. Very unique and underrated action. Great price, consistently run right, and actually look like a crawfish.
Lots of great memories with the crick hopper popper. Gotta watch the hooks with braid because big fish will hit them.

Scale, I have not but I would dearly love to see that!
@Catt, A blast from the past!
A real gem of a crankbait. I have a boxed version of this bait but couldn't resist buying this one as it was an absolute steal. Take note of the screw through the top of the head as opposed to all going through the bottom in today's baits. Enjoy!
I would like to have a pack of Red Neck worms and some 4" ring worms in whatever color you can spare. Let me know what you want In trade and we can work something out.
Allen
A few odds and ends I picked up cheap. Sometimes you simply have to buy when the money Is right. I'm especially fond of the tail spinner bait. I have more on the way. Enjoy!
This package Is without a doubt one of the nicest I ha ve ever bought. It may not seem like much to most but there are a few gems In here! Take note of the tiny swimbaits.(second photograph) I have never seen anything like this before from the Rebel brand! Enjoy!
Some nice ringworms also. @Catt
A few new to me baits. There's really nothing special about these but they are old, no longer made, Rebels, that to me are cool! Enjoy!
A little mail call! As always the ringworms are much appreciated as they are getting harder to find. A few crankbaits that will never see the water especially the Red and white carded bait and a first for me are some carded rocket shads!
Growing up, one of our small town grocery stores had a display rack very much like this (minus the crankbaits). Viewing this is a lot like stepping into a time machine! I like how you have displayed things and I especially love those cardboard cards with the Ringworms. Some collections just require money (sometimes lots of it) but yours is a collection I especially appreciate.
i have a few rebel baits, first lure i ever owned was a rebel crickhopper. i honestly didnt even know they made soft plastics. but ive been using some of their lures since i was a kid.
one of my favorite that i cant find anymore is the rebel tadfry, its a great panfish lure and occasionally will catch bass too. i have one that im afraid to throw anymore for fear of losing it...
A little window dressing for the dedicated Rebel board.
Got one for you Whitwolf, from an old in-fisherman issue I found recently:
You can't see it very well, but the pros are all sporting Rebel hats. My favorite part though is the small print: "for an in depth report on how Ricky, Larry and Tommy fish the ringworm, plus a ringworm sampler send $1 to "Ringworm Tips" in care of the address below..."
I remember many lure companies would have little sample/promo offers like that, and as I kid I used to pick through magazines looking for ones to send in.
I ordered that sampler as a teenager. They, along with the the Mister Twister Slither, ended up becoming my favorite type of plastic worm.
I just dug through one of my old tackle bags and found the last of my Ringworms below. I'll throw one of blue ones on Sunday to see if I can fool a young fish with an old worm (if successful, I'll take a picture)
These are some good Rebel fishing lure collections! I have a couple old Rebel Pop R's and Rebel Crawfish in my fishing lure collection .
A few new(ish) Items I didn't have and some soft paltics which you can never have enough.
It seems like a deep teeny day, Rebel-heads unite!
@MIbassyaker That's a sweet add, If you ever want to sell that let me know! In all honesty though If I were you I would hold onto that.
It's been slow on the Rebel front as other things have taken precedence. The Humpy on the right Is a fairly rare bait! Anyway, enjoy!
whitwolf In the flea market thread titled hard baits for sale , there appears to be a naturalized rebel crankbait in a color i dont recall .Second picture down . I'll try the URL .
A few really clean and crisp baits. There are three( Lemon shad, Avocado shad, and a Splatter back shad) baits I didn't have and the other two Black Perch wee r and the Chartreuse/Shiner deep wee r are baits I already had but these are as close to mint as I have seen. The 50th anniversary Catalog Is the topping on the cake! Enjoy!
A few Items of Interest to the Rebel-Head. A shad wee r I didn't have, a black perch deep wee r , and the jewel of the crankbait purchase Is a metallic red deep wee r. You can never have enough ringworms. I love those carded baits!
The top two tackle boxes are in fair shape but they will solve the display problem I'm about to have. The bottom tackle box Is absolutely mint! I had that before i bought the other two.
The shadow box Is not something I'm sure I'll do but If I do I will add more baits and fine tune It. Enjoy.
As this is a Rebel thread, I will post my question:
Does anybody have experience with the Rebel bluegill crankbait? I see they are similar in price and features to the KVD 1.0, so I am wondering how Rebel compares. Thanks for any input

Zach, I honestly can't say which Is better as that's a subjective(very) question. My advice Is to buy both and go fish! I know many that swear by both.

Thanks for your response. But I was just wondering if the baits are really similarly they look in terms of action and durability. I like my KVD's but I just want to get an opinion on something else. Not looking to start a childish "which is the best bait?" conversation. Sorry for any confusion
A few baits that I didn't have and a couple that I had never seen. I really like the g-finish double deep wee r. It's a very clean bait. The wally demon, crickhopper, and craw are all lipless and came directly from the factory. The naturalized perch Is also lipless bt I believe the lip was taken off for whatever reason.
The Redneck baits are colors I didn't have and of all the Rebel baits made, the plastics are my favorites! Enjoy!
OK, several baits to show, some cool and some REBEL cool!
All the deep wee r's are baits I didn't have.
I also didn't have a black Perch minnow!
Now for the good stuff. The spinnerbaits are called a spin r's. They were short lived and you don't see many. The dealer box Is a durn nice collectible and as always the ringworms/lizards are growing my plastics collection to a bigger amount than I ever thought I would have. The single picture of the sample pack Is something you're not going to see often. It's quite rare. Enjoy!
I have hit the limit on pictures so I'll post the others tomorrow.lol
Two quite rare baits In the Moss Masters, a frog teeny r and one I have but simply like the color(Avocado shad) so I bought another! enjoy!
I used to love the Rebel Fast Trac baits when I was a kid...I remember years ago my dad buying me those baits and how much they meant to me.
