Hudds website. Anyone else won't get them till late summer if all goes well. That's the word from the man anyhow.

If it dissapeared, wonder if it's going to be delayed? Looks like a great bait though..Perhaps presales, have exhausted the official launch? It is a bit odd...

It's still up on the site but you can't add it to your cart yet. Been like that for 2 days now. It's first come first served starting at 9am until they sell out. Which will be quick. I'm sure some flippers will have them up for sale shortly after they receive them.

yessir, wouldn't want you to miss out!

i've since given up on swimbaiting and sold my gear off, but that pic looks sweeeeeeet!  if i were still in the swimbait market, i'd be buying one of these guys for a particular lake that i fish busting with bluegill and big bass.

Sucks to hear that. I invested just at $700 in a swimbait setup and baits a few months before the season ended. I've yet to get bit and it's discouraging but hopefully spring will change all of that. The Mattlures hardgill has me excited for pre spawn.

Ok now thats a bummer, eastern MD is completely different weather than the west. Only had a mild ice over that lasted 2 days on the ponds, the rivers are cold but still soft water

I'm even in Western Md so it's colder up this way. Buddies went ice fishing last Sunday. It measured 5" thick.

Nice, yea Im lucky enough to get a okuma guide select SB rod from a nice guy here (buzzed bait!! thanks again) Nice rod but Its rating is a lil low as the BBZ1 is its limit but it works great for the Hudds 68's and savage line thrus. Running the same reel you got but with big game 20#, although Im looking into other lines with a lil less stretch. Good luck to ya come thaw out.

It will be noon on the east coast at 9 am pacific time. I assume you are east coast since you favor the Potomac river. It is easy to get that backwards sometimes.

Well I will be on the side of a mountain laying in a frozen hole and welding broken pipeline with a snowcat, excavator, generator, compressor and who knows what other machines running. It is easy to not notice what time it is when you're working like that and directing a crew, hence the alarm :)

I WISH I was still going to be asleep haha

Haha yeah when I get up this morning I was like "ohhh wait a second".. and went to log on to post that it is at Noon, but luckily you guys beat me to it.

The thought of a new Huddleston got our brains caught in a mosh.

I can tell you from experience, prepare for a server crash. The first time he released 68s all hell broke loose. I can see it happening with this as well. I think I'm going to sit this one out. My days of bait chasing and F5ing went out the door with the 316 craze.

It's highly dependent on which server you're using as well.

I've seen light colored gills.

I got both in different rof

Dark crappie would have been nice if it was spotted like black crappie

Same here although I went with the crappie versions, Im sure there are plenty of bluegill around but Ive seen and caught a ton of crappie. Now to wait and find out how the fish like it

What action on that do you recommend? Im gonna throw up to 8" hudds

Mine runs light, although mine is the mh 7'6" version its limit is around 3.5 mayyyyyybe 4oz, not the rated 5oz. If they all run a lil light like that then Id opt for the 7'11"  2-10oz, I know rippin-lips has a 7'11" not sure of the model tho, maybe he can chime in on how his feels....

fishing user avatarrippin-lips reply :

I have the 7'11 heavy 1-6oz is its rating. Anything up to around 4oz max is all I've thrown. Over that I'd go XH. You figure the sweet spot of most rods is about 1/2 of its max rating. The heavy works good for 8" hudds though.

fishing user avatargulfcaptain reply :

yep 2 for myself as well.  One in the 5 and one in 12, one light and one dark(this is so I know which is which.  Hopefully they will be here by the middle of March.

I'm with you on that. If he offered a weedless gill I'd have no reason to pick these up.

fishing user avatarib_of_the_damned reply :

I just ordered a couple, one light and one dark. Both ROF 12, I saw a video review that with the ROF 5 you have to really slowly crawl them or they will rise too fast and swim on their side.

Ordered a few days ago by the way, I was watching the timer on the site and when it hit zero, I placed the order...

Cant wait to get them, wont be till after the spawn though...

The hardgill in my opinion is the most productive bait out there. If you can't get bit on a hardgill you should probably take up golf
