I just seen on Facebook on Extreme angler page Rage has a new swimbait out.Anybody know were there for sale.Cant find them on any sites. They look really good.Want to pick some up.
Here is a picture.
I don't know where they're for sale yet, but I know they're fish catchers. Two sizes available, 4" and 4.75". Try 'em keel-weighted, on a swim jig, on a shakey head, on an umbrella rig (Yessah!), or weightless. The bigger size is where it's at. Not telling where to get the secret 6" one.
Some good colors,Be glad when they come out.
I will definitely be carrying them.
I seen these on his Instagram. Very interesting. Any idea on when they will actually be released?

Yeah, A-Jay. I like em on a Rage Blade, too. So slow on the fall, and lots of kick, while being able to walk through the wood and stuff.

Shane that's the only bladed style bait I throw. It's a little more "subtle" and with the right trailer, it's been a quiet Killer.
So I wasn't going there . . . .
A-Jay
Haha. oops. You want me to take it down? Probly only a few people saw it.

Right like it's a "Big Secret" . . .
Remember I'm the knucklehead posting up pics of my baits

Oh ya..slooooowww.
Not liking it. Where's the rage tail? Looks like they used regular boot tail instead of more of an original rage tail style, like a cut r worms tail. That makes no sense to me. SK just spent several years killing the market with their rage tail plastics, but when it came time to make swimbait, it seems like they chose to abandon their own innovation and make a bait that's just like everyone else's.

Well, if you think about it, it makes a ton of sense for them to do this. Their Rage Tail line is extremely successful due to their products offering a unique flange that gives off a ton of vibration/motion in the water. The Rage Tail line isn't known as a cold water product line. Before you say "Well Joe caught a pig in 40 degree water on a Rage Craw," I'm sure they work at times but as a whole, these aren't the first line of baits in most anglers mind when water is considered "cold". The boot tail design is becoming more and more popular and with Keitech basically being the cornerstone for soft swim baits, if the Rage Line can duplicate that success, they are only making their Rage Line that much more popular. This looks like it will be more of a "niche" bait much unlike their other baits that can be used in a variety of ways but I still expect this to produce and work very, very well.

If its any solace, your getting Big O's unparralled attention to detail and quality control.
Zoom has something similar to this. When you'd reel them in you could see wakes coming from the bass about to nail them. It was a very good bait but they would sometimes tear from casting before you even got a fish.I quit buying them because of it.
Love these kind of baits and glad SK/Rage has added their own take on it. I wonder when they will be officially released and have the colors and sizes available?

Well I guess I must've missed the day when a boot tail Swimbait such as these, were considered a "cold water" bait.
It looks good. We all know what this is competing with...
Only thing I need to know is how many come in a pack of 4 inch? That pic shows 6 for 4.75 inch. Give me 7 or 8 for the 4 inch and I'll be happy.

I asked Karl (Extreme angler) on the pic he posted on Instagram, he said they would be introduced this summer at iCast.
They were released this past Friday at the Classic, but yes, officially not till iCast. I believe they are gonna be 5 to a pack on the big one, and 7 for the smaller one. $5.99 in clamshells.
I just dropped 70 on keitech swimmers, now I'll have to buy a few of these to compare

I have had tremendous success using this technique. One of my favorite things to fish now.
I just picked up a bunch of swimbaits I thought were speed shad at the flea market worm bar, and they measured 4.5 inches roughly, and i was confused....All same colors as pictured, they just came in and boxes were new so lucky me....I thought maybe bass pro made a 4.5 all of a sudden that smelled different. I guess they are 4,75 instead of 4.8, I cant tell all the brands apart anymore, I just buy the soft ones that are straight.
I spoke to Steve Parks at the Strike King booth at the Classic this past weekend. He had them on display. He said they were working on the print ads & ramping up production. He said the big boys like TW would get them first, probably this summer. To answer Heron's question, if you look closely at the pics, you will notice the ribs angle forward. The ribs have the Rage flange. Parks was very proud of that design aspect & said this swimmer will have action like no other, especially at slow speed. I look forward to them also.
I like Rage Tail - but Keitech has become the gold standard in the ribbed , fat swim bait of this type ... If Strike King hits us with some smell good colors : KVD Magic , Blue Gizzard , Green Gizzard and Pearl then I will try them ... Other wise , what's the compelling reason to switch from Keitech other than perhaps price ? *Will this be just another "good as a Senko" storyline ?

Regarding : "Rage Tail line not known as a cold water bait" - then what would be your cold water picks ? I subsribe to the belief that as with a a lipless crankbait with it's tight , subdued wiggle is a preferred crankbait in cold water , so I try to mimic the same action with soft plast trailers or swimbaits ...As the water warms I switch to a wider wobble crankbait and mimic the same action with soft plactic trailers or swimbaits .

Baits with less action
I like the Rage craw in cold water because it slows the fall so much.
Nice video, and welcome!

Unfortunately they will not be available to the public for purchase until after we showcase them at ICast. Thank you for viewing and let us know what you think when you do get your hands on them to use. Appreciate the welcome

Come back again and often Deb. We need more women, professional or amateur here. Especially a successful one as yourself.

Welcome aboard!
I was down in Texas a couple of weeks ago and had the opportunity to visit "Santa's workshop". This new Swimmer is killer!

The one's I can think of (BPS and Bass Assassin) are Keitech knock off's themselves. I have high expectations from the Rage Tail line despite being part of Strike King. I am disappointed to find Fat Swing Impacts in a Rage Tail packaging.
Yeah what are Chevy and dodge thinking. Ford made the first four door truck.
Cant wait for these baits. My local shops don't carry keitech baits. I am also sure the rage swimmer will be a different density and other subtle differences.

Did Keitech never have or have their patent lapse with all the similar baits out their? You would think that they would have protected the design if they could. Or is the patent easy to skirt, say if you use different material or change a very small detail. Not poking at anybody, just curious as to how that works. It seems the soft plastic game is largely a everyone coming out with their version of the same thing.
Cgrinder to be upfront about keitech baits I actually ordered some a week ago online. They look great and look forward to using them, but if I can pick up a lure locally I will go that route. Competition brings innovation and I look forward to that. Look at Senko baits and spinnerbaits. This practice has been going on a while. I'm sure it will mean better and more affordable things to come from both companies.

In thein Interest of clarity, Im not opposed to competition. Im just disappointed to see Imitation from a brand known for Innovation. I hope they will be cheaper than Keitch but they will probably be similar In price. I will edit this when I get home since apparently my phone hates BR.

Yeah, I kind of agree with your sentiment. I love the Rage line of baits and I love Fat Impacts. I'm sure this will be a successful bait for SK and it doesn't bother me that they made this bait. However, to act like this is some cool, new design seems kind of silly.

Agreed
Really interested in hearing or seeing what color options will be offered. I am sure a basic 6-8 colors to start with more added depending upon how sales go. If the colors are what I am after I would probably be buying a dozen packs right off the bat.
Ok...I have this bait and have fished this bait, as well as keitechs. It is not the same bait..it has its own innovative features and stands alone from other ribbed swims.
ICast?....July?.....But I need them NOW!!!

Care to expand on the differences?
This is the info I've gathered from Big O and Mike at Seibert Outdoors on this forum.
The ribs are reversed, cuped forward. The tail has the Rage Tail lip. You get one extra bait more in each size per pack than what Keitech offers. Also the price point will be about the same or even somewhat cheaper.

The reversed, forward facing ribs have been a "feature" on the Skinny Dippers since the beginning. Not saying the Swimmers aren't better,. Don't know, haven't used them yet.
