ok, so everytime i hear talk about buzzbaits, this brand pops up. I just started fishing a year ago, and i currently own one buzzbait. So is this brand really that much better than the rest? thanks!

Probably,,it's a super bait.all I use.
So is this brand really that much better than the rest?
Nope but they are pretty good
I have to say it's a pretty darn good one! If you're using one, believe this....no one else is using anything better.
Cavitron is a great buzzbait. They catch fish just fine. I fish a double buzzbait most of the time made by Ol' Nelly, but when I need a single buzz that has to run slow I will always reach for a Cavitron.
I love the Cavitrons. They squeak loud as hell and you can run them slow. They get up on plane quick and I like the hooks on them too.
I don't know if they're the best out there, but they are the best that I've used.
I like them, but not necessarily better in all situations.
Honestly, most of the time I have a Booyah Buzz tied on as I like a clacker.
Where are these baits found?
Buy one. An excellent bait.
QuoteWhere are these baits found?
Yes, where?, other than the Cavitron website.
Dicks sporting goods stocks them if you have one nearby.
It all comes down to the brand you have confidence in.There are little subtleties in all brands of baits that differentiate them from each other. The best lure on the water is the one called CONFIDENCE-we just use quality components and have changed a few of the designs from existing baits.-It produces fish and results. I have caught bass on 99 cent buzzbaits but for the money-$5.95-the cavitron is the best value out there.Think about it-I have caught many fish on a single bait-won lots of money on the Cavitron. They could last 3 years-thats about 2 bucks a year to use a great bait - I think I would give it an investment-But again use what you have confidence in.
Like Fluke, I mostly use double bladed baits as I can fish them slower, yes even slower than Cavitrons, or fast if needed, but the Cavitron is one of the better single blade buzzers out there.
I'm a big fan. I gave all my other buzzbaits away.

x2
I would use only Cavitrons if their wire frames didn't bend so easily. I understand a thinner wire gives off more vibration, but it sacrifices durability.
Jake,
I am still on my first Cavitron, 3/8 oz black on
black. I have a matcher and some other colors
plus a few 1/4 oz. The lure is beat to a pulp.
I asked Bobby if I should retire the Cavitron.
He advised me just to bend it back into shape.
I think it's more interesting to the fish now
than new!
As long as this particular lure continues to
produce, the rest never get to play.

The best buzzbait iv used and iv tried alot. check *** they sell them
I think it's a lot better than others and since it's about the same price as others, it's a win win. I've only used like 1 or 2 other kinds but they didn't produce NEARLY as well as the cavitron. This is definitely a must have lure and buy extras in a variety of sizes and colors too in case you lose some. I have no durability issues I've caught numerous fish on my favorite black with red blade 3/8 one and if the wire bends I do like RW said and bend it back and it still produces. Perfect buzzbait.
QuoteDicks sporting goods stocks them if you have one nearby.
I had heard that Dick's had them, but mine does not, for some reason.
I like them alright but I prefer others like War Eagles. They are $1 less and I personally think they can be worked more slowly.
Dicks Sporting Goods just placed a huge spring order that just went out the door. The cavitrons should be in there soon.Others that have them are ***s store and Tackle Warehouse.
Watch Video of cavitron

Worst buzzbait I've ever used.
Hard to plane, tended to roll over at any speed.

Then clearly you lack the talent to cast and wind! ;D
everytime i threw my cavitron.. i thought i was going to catch a fish. not just wished i would... but thought i would.
thats a heck of a difference.
unfortunately... in the dawn, a log laying in the grass bares little to no resemblence to the 8 ft gator that i threw my cavitron to. SMASH!!! not really a fair endurance test. ;D
you shoulda seen the look on my face.
I hope they show up at my Dick's store. I'm anxious to try a couple. I just watched the video that shows the Cavitron getting up on plane faster than others. That is something I've
found with buzzbaits, is that for the first several yards, or more, I have to reel like crazy to get it up on the top of the water. If I wanted it to run under the water, I'd throw a spinnerbait.
Good point Moby- I have done that before and thats what I tried to show in that video.
Yikes Burley old boy!!!!- Thats a first.Somethings gotta be wrong somewhere in the bait or your technique-Whatcha doing??? If there is a flaw in the bait-I will replace it free of charge-If theres something wrong with you-EHHHH-thats gonna haveto go back to the engineers.Let me know what you think is happening with the bait.

I wouldn't know. I gave one to a person I didn't like, threw the other two out of the boat.
I guess I'd better just shut up and get back to lurking. :-X
That guy you gave it to called me and said there was a bobber attched to it.
I told you Dozer loved me
I have used Cavitron in the past and really do have confidence in them. Does everyone use trailer hooks on their buzzbaits and spinnerbaits?

I can't say it any better! The only one that I wiil fish!
Bobby nice come back, I like the bobber thing! ;D ;D ;D ;D :

Maybe he thinks they are self propelled! ;D There are to be a few black sheep in the heard! ;D ;D
I have been using tri-wing normans for quite awhile, even going as far as transplanting the blades to new baits, swapping out the 2-blade. I will try the cavitron because if my success actually gets better, I'm in for some big time fun.
I tend to use lighter colours but would like to know, are people using black to get a better silhouette?
thanks
TJ
I like 3/8 oz Black on Black.
The big bass seem to like it, too!
8-)
Yea I'm all set with them, ran fine for me but there are much better options out there. Recently had a thread like this on another board I belong to and Burley isn't the only one who has had issues with them.
What kina issues???
The only issue I've had is that after 50 to 60 fish, the skirts get torn up a bit. I've replaced the skirt on a few and they're still catching fish.
It was a New England board so "northern" issues. One pike and kiss $6 good bye because you can generally never get the wire right again so the bait will track side ways. And the one that was given to me by Mattm in the Christmas exchange last year tracked to the right too much for my liking.
I think he sabotaged all your baits that he sent me. lol
Burley, try bending your rod into an arc. That way it will compensate for the improper tracking.
I hate those ta ta toothie critters. Hey listen its a buzz bait. Everyone here knows me and my products.I back them and our Bass Resource members 100% -If there are any real flaws or problems with anything I design and sell-the refund or replace is there no questions asked. The toothy critters are on you though.
Best Buzzbait ever made, slowest stay on top Buzzbait evermade!!! A close second would be the Revenge Buzzbait with a thinner wire.Same configaration on the wire shape though.Dicks Sporting Goods have some, but call before you go as they're out sometimes.
I'm with Burley, So bad I started making my own. I still use Mega Strike.
Kelley
One of these days I gotta take some of you guys buzzbaitn
Every lure or bait that's loved by some is hated
by others. Lots of our guys won't fish a GYCB
soft plastic; some don't think MegaStrike or
KVD Line & Lure Conditioner are effective...Others
swear by these products.
As stated earlier, I'm a big fan of the Cavitron
Buzzbait.
8-)
I have used a lot of buzzbaits, but none that I like better than Cavitron.
Ronnie
OK SOMEONE END THIS THREAD
No...
Most guys love the the Cavitron...
;D ;D ;D

Especially guys that enjoy catching fish!
Lol I just met Bobby at the NJ Garden State Sportsman show, and bought a Cavitron buzzbait! Never Actually used one but it has an amazing rep! Can't wait for the spring.
This guy has a couple different colors on ebay for $2.60 but watch the shipping. May be a typo but I would ask before doing the buy-it-now. Maybe combine shipping if you buy more than one.
Kelley
Heck -where are they-I'll buy them for that. just for curiosity- Did they come with a bobber on them????
