I'm looking for a new spinnerbait since Glamour Shad going out of business I need to fine a new brand. Anyone know any companies that make good spinnerbaits comparable to glamour shad?
These guys make an awsome spinnerbait!
http://www.stickembaits.com/
I like there spinnerbaits. What are the prices?
try the heavy cover spinnerbait
www.heavycover.com
Strike King! Stick with the best, man.
Not sure why there prices are no longer showing on the website. Send them an email and I know they will get back with you pretty quick. Harley is a good guy and makes a really good spinner bait. They will make almost any combinations you want. I have done really well on there bamma bug too for river smallies!!!
His email on the site is hryan@stickembaits.com
Strike kings are pretty good! I like more specialized colors and stick'em will make them for you at a reasonable price.
I prefer the Titanium wire Spinner Baits myself...
I am particularly fond of terminators... I don't know how they compare to Glamour Shads though.
hildebrand and war eagle. the thinner the wire the better.
I'm not familiar with Glamour Shad, but I have had good success with Terminator, Strike King, and Leverage.
Falcon
Thrown titanium wire spinnerbaits and don't particularily like them because you cant tune the bait, and I have a couple from heavy cover I just havent had a chance to throw them yet.

Terminators here too..
1887 you need to try the Hawg Hustler from Classic Lures. This spinner bait
is alsome and well built, I found it two years ago and have won 7 tournaments
on the spinner bait only. You don't find theise baits every where you have to order them. The web site is www.klassiclures.com If you go this route I would
appreciate if you would mention my name. Thanks
What? No Booyah fans?
i throw terminators too

Wow - that heavycover site is cool. Right now I'm partial to the Terminator titanium spinnerbaits myself -
The only spinnerbait Im gonna throw is a StrikeKing. Preferably a Strike King Premeir Plus. Ive had a tremendous amount of success with this lure.
The best one is not made any more, BassBuster Scorpion, The next best is www.soblures.com
This time of the year, I like the Strike King Quad shad with four willow blades. Seems to work great with shad spawning.
I just purchased my first Booyah spinner baits this weekend, this model has three willow leafs. A little cheaper than the 9.00 Quad Shad.
For the river, I'm fond of the old H&H's.
Matt

I think I know why you like the Terminators....
You have seen their powers firsthand!! LOL

Yes Jedi masterthat I have indeed...hahaha
Tell us what it is you like about the Glamour shads? Is it the colors, blade configurations, weight? Tell us what caracteristics they have that work well for you and I am sure I can recommend a similar bait.
Allen
Let see they run perfectly tuned out of the package have high quality components, I love their 1/8oz bait because it casts like a 1/4oz but you can fish them alot slower. They give off alot of flash and vibration and have high quality skirts, and the fact that they sell baits with Indiana blades as well. Also they have a minnow head design with 3D eyes.
Todd Davis is the creator of them they came out of Newport News VA and here is a better picture of them.
Terminator has to be favorite and maybe Booyah second. I don't care for Strike King. I have a few that have rusted and in general, I was not pleased with how they performed.
I'm not necessarily the person to ask about spinnerbaits.
but i throw terminators and leggebusters.
I used to use Flecks alot and had excellent success.

Based on what you like about the Glamour shads I would check out the Revenge baits?
Allen
Thanks Allen thats just about what im looking for
I like Booyah! and Secret Weapon Lures. Secret Weapon has the best blade system going IMO.
Brad
I did not like most of the baits out there because they did not fit my needs so I started making my own. Booyah are ok but they could be better? Strike King needs to start beating their Chinese child slave labors until they learn how to put a skirt on straight :-? There quality has went downhill so far it may never return. Right now if I had to buy a spinnerbait I would get a Revenge or a SOB mini-me. Terminators have a very loyal following but I have no experience with them.
Allen
I'm the same way like I can't find one on the shelf that I could see myself throwing thats why i liked the glamour shad was because it was a higher end bait with better components and also was made locally, or rather locally to me Newport News VA, opposed to the more mass produced baits you find on the shelves.
Munkin can you upload a picture of the spinnerbaits you have made?
Check out Picasso spinnerbaits. They have a similar profile and have been one of my top producing spinnerbaits over the last 4-5 years. Here's a link: www.picassooutdoors.com
Anyone use any spinnerbaits by Nichols? www.nicholslures.com I have heard people taking good about them but have never seen them for sale anywhere?

I also like the dual/quad willows this time of year...
especially since i just caught two nice fish today which weighed 3 and five pounds on a terminator double wilow.
Two pages of replies and I can't believe nobody mentioned the Longshank.
Check this out:

Never use a trailer hook again. And, these don't get hung up like trailer hooks because the hook is always pointing up.
Stanley Wedge; It's all about the blades
I've had loads of success with the Strike King Bleeding Bait series in white or chartreuse. Also like the SK Pro Model in white with gold tinsel.
I would pick terminator they make this great spinnerbait/buzzbait hybrid that makes alot of vibration. This is their site
www.terminatorlures.com
QuoteStanley Wedge; It's all about the blades
That is a good looking lure.
I have been suing Booyahs successfully and not much else. They have held up really well and seem to be well made. Gonna try some of these mentioned here though just to see what else is out there.
Eddie
I agree with the Stanley wedges! Definitely my go to spinnerbait!
KVD only!
I just got three glammer shad spinners at Kmart for a $1 apiece. They look like the Matzuo spinners, are they any good?
avalonjohn I'll give you $2 a piece for them
Never had one as these as they are almost 'unobtainable' but they surely look impressive:
They are designed and made by Gancraft, a Japanese company.
I've used and caught some nice Bass on the KVD spinnerbait, made by Strike King.
Dan

Yes, I have some and have caught Bass with them. They are high quality in every way. I bought mine through their online store.
Dan
Lightningrod, we can always depend on you for pics and info on the really cool, high-end stuff.
Thanks,
GK
I may be still a newb but I really don't think there is a "one bait fits all" type spinnerbait. I think it depends on the lake and the geographical location. With that said, there are so many other factors to consider, clarity, temp, colors, blade sizes & colors, textured blades, and thanks to Lightingrod now there are wire configurations! ;D
I believe War Eagle are the best all-around spinner baits on my local lake but I usually try others to see if I can utilize a cheaper spinnerbait. I'm ready to now step up and strictly use War Eagle and try Terminator. There are other spinnerbait companies that make awesome looking baits but they catch more anglers than fish I'll bet.
I completely agree with the earlier statement that: "it's all about the blades." That will make the biggest impact by far on whether you're catching fish or not. Am I right? If I'm not, let me know. I'm still a newbie.

I am going to have to bend a wireform like one of these to try out. It looks like it would not be very stable though?
Allen
QuoteStanley Wedge; It's all about the blades
Wow thats the exact spinnerbait i lost last saturday on a stump
Also the same spinnerbait i caught my pb on. LOL
same blade combo skirt color and everyhting. I like those a lot, they produce well.

Bill Dee out of Texas makes the Mini-Me, compact hidden weight, small profile, quality to die for, finish is gorgeous. Hand built, hand tuned, no roll-over. Can see at:
www.hookmupworldwide.com/site/456404/page/280513
i like the booyah super and baby shad caught 15 yesterday on the super shad
still can't find anything to replace glamour shad, 8 fish to my partners 2 in my tournament today all mine were on 1/8oz Glamour Shad White and Chartreuse with a gold indiana blade and small nickle colorado, one of his was on 3/8 oz Terminator White and Chartreuse with double willows painted one white one chartreuse, the other fish was caught on a 7.5" culprit black shad worm T-Rig
