If you had to fish with one fishing line for every application for the rest of your life which line would it be? Just one line. One brand. One type of line . what is the number one line?
Can I additionally use any leader of my choosing? If so, I will go with pp slick 50. Otherwise I'd go with YZH.
Only one type of line one brand one line no leaders just one line what line would you pick.
Sunline, I use their mono, braid, and FC, great line !!!!
Trilene Big Game. I use it almost exclusively on my baitcasters and haven't found anything else with the combination of performance and affordability yet.
Tom
I am having a hard time finding anything wrong with 24lb Gliss.
14/2 romex
Why did this topic post twice?
4# Berkley Vanish. 2# would be pushing it imo.
50 lb. Power Pro. Since I fish in Florida I fish a ton of grass and I can fish essentially any lure except diving cranks which I don't fish much anyways.
Does 20# braid plus copoly leader count?
15lbs seaguar red label. It's top notch flouro for a great price.
...kind of like building a house with no tools other than one screw driver.
oe
20lb Power Pro braid.
Lol nope!
P-Line Floroclear, pretty much all i use.

Interesting, I hate PP Slick unless its on a spinning reel... PP all the way tho..lol
The one you know really well. Although I've strayed (a lot) for me that's been Trilene XT, since the early 80's, when I switched from XL.
14# Gliss. Casts farther than braid, sensitivity of braid, no memory, nearly half of braids diameter, all around awesome line.
Berkley Trilene Big Game, in assorted lb test.
15 lb Seaguar red label
Sniper.

You didn't mention if you had to actually pay for it, or if it was like something you won a lifetime supply of for free.
Realistically I guess Spiderwire or Power Pro. Readily available and reasonable cost. Toss a coin to decide. I have had great luck with both.
Every time one of these "pick one" threads pops up, all I can even think is "Dang- sure am glad I don't have to!!"
Sunline Shooter if I could pick anything.
Trilene XT and it would be 14 pound test if I had to be that specific.

OK well cost doesn't matter and I'm talking unlimited supply, I know this isn't realistic. My reasoning for this question is to see how many ppl vote for a specific line to ultimately answer the question what is the number one line!

While I like Yozuri better, ( slightly ) I would go with Big Game cause you can find it absolutely everywhere..
another one for 15# seaguar red label
Man this question seems to come up a lot in different formats. If any of the original posters are hoping to get a solid one trick pony answer it ain't gonna happen. He didn't say a specific pound test, just type and brand. I guess you guys using 15 lb red label are really onto something. Gonna have to get a spool and try chucking a 2.5 ounce swimbait with it. Then maybe I'll turn around and throw a weightless tube. There is no one line to do it all.
20 lb PP slick
One line forever ... 15lb Seaguar InvizX
10lb PP
Tufline of course

Berkley Trilene Big Game will continue to reign supreme above all no matter how much ya´ll try.
i could live with power pro braid or big game mono, either or.
but what's the fun in just one?

or once, even?
I bet 10lb yo zuri hybrid could cover then widest range of techniques.
I have used 20 lb suffix 832 on a 3000 sized Pflueger and LDC custom MH spinning rod to throw everything from an 1/8 oz bitsy flip up to a Deps 175 and CL8 Baby Possum (3 oz ish) all in the same day. It's about as close as you can get to covering everything, but not ideal at all on either end.
I'd take power pro too. 15# hi vis. I don't have much experience yet with the super slick I have spooled now, but so far I love it. It's super quiet and smooth which helps feel bottom composition and bites, rather than line friction.
Berkley Big Game Mean Green 15 pound test for everything but punching!
Power Pro 10# Braid
Well I think this almost raps it up power pro getting the most votes on the number one fishing line!
Trilene XL. I have caught over 30 species of fish with it and been using it since I was a child. Has never let me down.
Why use a mono for bottom contact? Why use a fluorocarbon for top water? I'll tell you why. Because you don't have to. If I had to use one line for everything it would be braid I guess. But it wouldn't be power pro.
12# YZH

Same here. I'm still playing around with different options but I use a lot of XT and will continue to do so!.
P-Line CX Premium green.
After trying several brands and types I like Suffix Performance braid
Gamma lines!
