Tackle Warehouse Does It Again 2024

fishing user avatarguisingerevan reply :

So I recently bought a few reels from TW and I am very impressed by their service.

Bought the Lew's BB1, Lew's BB1HZ, and Lew's BB1 Pro PS1HZL.

I'm making this post because it wasn't just the reels (which I received yesterday and cleaned, lubed, and lined them today) I was impressed with but TW customer service. Found a price online at another website for the BB1's at $120 and the BB1 Pro at $169 which are crazy good prices. So I called TW and asked if they could do a price match because their service is great and they matched the price and got them shipped out next day after that. Big thanks to TW

fishing user avatardoyle8218 reply :

That's why they are #1.

fishing user avatarSmallmouth Hunter reply :

I have had an awful experience with ***. I bought a rod earlier last year and have been waiting months and months to get it.

Out of the 5 or so orders I have made with them, I have had to wait SEVERAL months on 2 of the orders.

fishing user avatarmjseverson24 reply :

^^^ That sucks dude, i think that is pretty rare though, i have probably made 50+ orders from them in the past couple years, and every one came on time with the right stuff...

fishing user avatarplumworm reply :

Don't blame the retailer, if the manufacturer can't get the product to them. I'm sure that TW is just as frustrated as you are.

fishing user avatarnowicki2005 reply :

They normally say when stuff is on backorder and they don't charge you until they ship.

fishing user avatarAlonerankin2 reply :

I had major issues on a rod order a couple years ago.... Long story short... I use another e-tailer.. But I would give them a shot again.. Umm, idk... Maybe

fishing user avatarjignfule reply :

I've been nothing but impress with TW and there service.

love em, every order within 5 days

fishing user avatarGrizzn N Bassin reply :

bout a few times from them never had a problem. get flat rate shipping and comes in when its supposed to

fishing user avatarHogsticker reply :

They have been the best for me. Other places have taken longer to ship, and I have received 2 or 3 separate packages at different times as they order direct and don't keep all advertised items in stock. Retailers have been having a hard time receiving Tatula rods from Daiwa yet choose to mark them as in stock on web site. Sometimes you're better off to call first and confirm.

fishing user avatarjbsoonerfan reply :

I can't sit back and not give a positive plug for a great site to deal with. I have made dozens of orders and have NEVER had a problem. I have had one or two times where an item was not in stock. I was not charged for the item and I was sent an email to tell me that it was on backorder and I could cancel that part or have it shipped when they received it.

In fact, on one particular order the item that was out of stock put me under the free two day shipping. They still shipped the in stock items for free and also shipped the item for free.

fishing user avatarNorcalBassin reply :

No one else has ever come close to the ship time or anything else with these guys. I give plenty of my business away to other places, but I sometimes get frustrated when they sit on my order for days or even a couple weeks before shipping. TW always gets my order shipped same day if I order before lunch as long as the items are in stock.

fishing user avatarLoop_Dad reply :

Only thing I didn't like about ordering to them was because they are in California they have to charge sales tax to the customers in California. Now I am moving out of the state, it will be tax free. Sweet!

fishing user avatarjtesch reply :

customer service is great also

I have a similar stack.  Why spend less than $50 when I could get a "free" bait instead of paying for shipping?   :tongue8:

fishing user avatarHogsticker reply :

Master Bait'r. Hee hee

fishing user avatar*Hootie reply :

I always spend over the minimum and then pay for overnight shipping. Ten bucks to get it tomorrow? Can't beat it. Never once had an issue.

That's what I normally do. Pretty awesome a package can go from California to alabama in less then 16 hours.

The only problem I've had with them is when I actually called them on the phone. That ended up being aggravating as crap.

fishing user avatarWIGuide reply :

They've got great customer service. I order from them a few times a year and never had an issue. Bought a rod once and it came with a guide that didn't have an insert. Emailed them and the next day I had a prepaid shipping label to send the rod back. They shipped a new one out asap.

fishing user avatargripnrip reply :

My Hudds are due to arrive today!  I have always had my order from TW show up in 5 days or less.  Just in case you brain farted and forgot to add something to a previous  order.  It is nice if you have to have the order before a tournament that they offer such cheap overnight delivery.

fishing user avatarcrankcaster100 reply :

Let me the guy that says I don't like TW

I always have my on line orders shipped to my office because nobody is at home to sign for packages

They said my first order had to ship to the billing address

I told them that was stupid and I told them to instruct UPS to leave the package without a signature

When I got home there was a note from ups and no package

TW has lost my business

fishing user avatarjbsoonerfan reply :

I have never had to sign for a package from TW.

That was my problem with them. Whitney was buying me a birthday gift I picked it out she used her card to pay for it then 6 phone calls later and me threatening to never buy another d**n thing from them problem solved.

fishing user avatarcrankcaster100 reply :

And to top it off when I complained to them they didn't offer me anything for my troubles.

You need to make it right

I've never had to sign for TW. Just got a shipment yesterday. Was on my porch when I got homer yay!

I always pay for 5$ two day shipping and I've always had my package(s) arrive on time....UNTIL today. It wasn't TW fault though. I think somebody at UPS forgot my stuff in CA or just didn't put it on the truck so it left a day late. TW did fix it for me though and it will be here tomorrow and the reimbursed me the 5$.

I had to sign once when I ordered 3 reels and a rod because of the value. They also called me to confirm the order before they shipped it. Usually they leave my ~ $50 orders though.

fishing user avatarSmallmouth Hunter reply :

Issue was resolved with TW. We had a miscommunication over the "in stock" dates on the website, but it is now resolved. Just got my email saying the package shipped!

fishing user avatarjbsoonerfan reply :

I think "in stock" is when they "expect" to have them, not a guarantee.

fishing user avatargripnrip reply :

Yes. When it says in stock, it means the expected time the manufacturer will have their product to TW.  I watched the Hudd dates religiously.  They kept changing the dates.  I emailed TW and told me how it works.  I then purchased an order for them anyways and I received the package this past Wednesday.

fishing user avatargulfcaptain reply :

Frequent TW a lot.  Never had an issue, the rods are always packed well.  I do have to pay sales tax, but the next day shipping makes up for it if I need it.  I would rather order from TW and get it the next day then have to drive to 80mi to BPS to try and find what I'm looking for.  And anytime I go to BPS you just can't spend $50.00, TW I order what I need to make my $50 and I can use my time fishing instead of sitting in traffic.

fishing user avatarhatrix reply :

This doesn't really have to do with TW but I had a BPS gift card and ordered some things. Some of them were on back order. I was charged shipping twice at $11 each and it was 2 weeks just to get the times that were actually in stock. Never again....

Should have contacted Ron at Valley on the BB1's. You would have saved even more money. I did.

This whole no sales tax for online retailers is going to disappear very soon. States are aware that they are losing a lot of revenue and are going after small businesses that order their supplies online as we speak. Eventually, I see the no sales tax thing going the way of the dodo bird.

I work for a medical supply distribution company that does business online, and in the past we only had to charge sales tax for Ohio, California, and Florida as we have a physical presence in those states. As of 1/1/14, we are required to charge taxes in 17 States.

Amazon being the case study for all of this you can easily do a search for more information.

Just an FYI.

Otherwise, my experience with TW has been amazing.

It doesn't say in stock. It tells the number available. If they don't have any in stock, under the column "stock" it will have a date and that is the date that they expect to have them.

fishing user avatarBrianinMD reply :

Never had an issue with TW, even when my wife ordered xmas presents for me knowing nothing about fishing they walked her thru everything. I had orders where one bag of plastics is on backorder, they sent me the order of what they had then sent the single bag of plastics when available all for no shipping cost.

fishing user avataroldschoolbasser reply :

It's a 4 hr drive from where I live. I usually spend the day in SLO,them hit TW on the way home. Friendly staff, and I get to see all the tackle 1st hand so I know what I'm getting. Last time there I got a tour of the warehouse, man I want to live there lol!

fishing user avatardonk reply :

Absolutely love TW but I will also say that I also have had the note left at door indicating that signature needed. I honestly believe that total amount purchased must be the deciding factor. If I remember correctly $200 or under I was fine , but $400 a signature was needed. On the $400 order they actually called and said someone was needed to sign and I was jacked. When I questioned the policy, customer service was like well do you wanna cancel  the order, and I think I accepted liability. I purposely keep the total around $200 to make sure the stuff is left at my door. As much as I don't care for BPS they have never refused to leave a package at my door regardless of value. I also need to recommend Ron at Valley sports great prices and speedy shipping and left at my door.

Yup, its inevitable. We do sporting goods retailing (not fishing thank the Lord) and there is quite a bit of confusion about sales taxes. Retailer's do not "charge" sales tax, they collect it. Purchases made by out of state customer's are subject to taxes, they are just the responsibility of the buyer.

fishing user avatarA-Jay reply :

As a frequent TW user and abuser, I appreciate the wide variety and large selection.  Something that goes unmentioned is how user friendly the web site is. I find it to be one of, if not the best out there.  That plays a big role.  If the sites bogging down or pages don't load while I'm making an order, I'm gone.  Pictures of items are clear and concise and you just can't beat the Tackle Warehouse Demo Program.  Where else can you try out reels on your home water before you buy them - and through the mail no less.  Really nice.

Yeah I agree that the website is user friendly. Especially compared to basstackledepot.com and others, you can't beat it. I find it even much better than Dick's, Cabela's, Bass Pro, etc.

Lol at people who want gifts from companies because of a policy or miscommunication.

They aren't in the business of giving you free crap but they will make the situation right.

Oh and would yall rather them just list stuff as out of stock and not list future stock dates just because the manufacturer couldn't get the product built on time?
