You may have heard of the ultra-limited edition Chroma Reel that Okuma International has released.
We will be getting a small shipment of these in the next couple of months. Stay tuned to find out when. In some countries it was a matter of minutes that they sold out.

Looks like all plastic. Is it?
It’s not April 1st is it?
Is this a for real reel?
Looks like a kids toy
My Eyes!! My Eyes!!
What's wrong with the colors?
Just going by appearance looks like it might have come from a box of something that's magically delicious.

I hear that reel is very popular at raves.
They should call it the never ending gobstopper
If the main objective is to stand out....mission accomplished!! Pair it with one of those neon Ike rods, Enigma was it?
I feel the 80's calling.....
Pictured : A unicorn enters the reel business, and poops her first model, the Rainbowshite 2500, circa 2020, colorized.
Does it come with a George Michael Series rod?
Looks like Fisher price made it.
I am just here for the comments
????

Looks like someone left their reel out and forgot to take the crayons away from their kid
Every part is hand sanded and painted. 5 yr warranty. Have you seen the specs on this? You might be shocked.

I first read this as hand sanded and painted by a five-year-old.

This one wins hahahaha

Don't worry ..... I'm already shocked. Not by the specs, either. jj
Welp, I guess there's a market for everything.
it was made from 80's playdough. Wow those colors
I don't know if Okuma is still a sponsor, but you better shut this thread down if it is. This could be the brainchild of one of the executives, and he may think that color scheme is great. With the folks that contribute to this thread, the hits are gonna keep coming.
Why not
Boy George wants his reel back
The correct maximum number of colors on a reel is Two. Three if one of them is black or silver.
I think I found the buyers
One good thing, if you dropped it overboard, you could likely see it in 100’ of water to snag it back up ( if you actually wanted it back up????).
I’d like to pick one of these up if the price isn’t too steep.. Sure the color is odd but only 1000 made? That’s pretty cool if you ask me. Plus Okuma makes quality gear, worth a shot.
Specs look good. Killer colors for the south Florida area.

Yeah. Key West. ???????????? jj
Ridiculous
The colors are a bit bright but if it is built well then that is what truly matters.

There’s no such thing as bad publicity! Lol
They visited the land of misfit toys, didnt they?
What reels look like after taking a trip on LSD.
This is what you call "trying too hard". That thing could could cast 500 yards and I still would buy it. Yikes.
From their site:
QuoteBreaks boundaries and redefines urban fishing

My grandkids, who are 5 and 3 would probably love this one. Makes my reels look pretty boring.
I like bright colors. I'd use it...if it wasn't an Okuma..
You never know. In a few years we might all be fishing with one like this. Except with some glitter and sequins on it too
I guess it comes with one of these lol
The reel has pretty solid specs, but I personally am turned off by the loud colors. I don't know what it is, but I can't stand super bright colors on fishing gear. I'm sure a lot of them will end up in people's display cases given the limited production numbers.
The question nobody has asked, how much will the Lego reel cost?

Because no one is interested in buying it. LOL
Excellent engineering doesn’t require a gimmick

Ding! Ding! Ding! You get it.
It's a collectors' item. More artwork than workhorse. They even mention artisans in the description.
Obviously it's not for everyone. But like most art, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Hmm ... Take THAT, Googan Squad!!!

Yep, they are a sponsor. But as I've said many times before, and I'll iterate again here, sponsors have NO SAY over what I do with this site. They have no control over this forum.
They'll just have to take the lumps with the sugar.
It looks like it sat in a hot car and a rainbow melted on it.

I hope so, maybe they have a sense of humor.

I worked at an organization led by someone with that notion. Interesting guy, don't know where he works now.

I never thought that could be anything else, but I guess I don't understand art. Before this, I thought that the $120k banana duct taped to a wall was ridiculous. This is probably a cheaper form of ridiculous.
Someone needs to take this thing to Mordor and throw it into the fire.
Taste the rainbow!
Fish the rainbow!
This is what I imagine Billie Eilish would use when she fished - IF she fished, I dunno.
Legos should rise to the occasion and match this somehow.
If each is individually sanded and painted - is the point that it can be made in any color the buyer wants? And this color scheme was to grab your attention and let you know you can do any custom color you want - EVEN THIS!
I demand a youtube video of Glenn fishing with this reel.
I would have to take that sucker apart and sand and paint it all one color before I would use it.
So if it's multi colored metallic pinks, purple, gold, and green and says "ITO" on it it's okay? Lol, milky colors are the jam right now, outside of our little bubble. I'll take one!
It growing on me. I don't see a price anywhere though?
I think I saw it for 129.99 on a site, but I could be wrong.
Ugly junk

Actually, I was thinking Play-Doh, but I loved Lucky Charms as a kid.

How much are we looking at? And approx when will they be available?
Made in Jamaica ?
I guess artwork is in the eye of the beholder.

Do you mean like this one?
I'm going to buy one and make my kid fish with it when he's in trouble instead of grounding him
If it wasn't so heavy it'd be a great color for a cool kids setup. I'd buy one for that purpose but I like that lightness of the tatula lt 2000 and 3000 way better.
Yeah, the specs aren't even notable...Beyond the fact they painted some graphite parts on a graphite reel and used the word artisan....How does one “redefine urban fishing” anyway? Lol.
To each their own I suppose. Obviously someone somewhere likes em.
YouTube- Urban fishing. It's so trending ????... but honestly if theres a market and I was a business and could make money off it, sure.
Kinda smart. You know they'll sell out soon as popular YouTubers' are sponsored and market them. Go Okuma for capitalizing on a market.

tbh thats why im interested. There IS a market for this and there will be a resale market.

Seconded.
I'd fish it.
I thought maybe it was going to be an Autism Awareness type thing but I believe that's in April so kind of ruled that out.
That thing belongs in a parade.

April fools is also in April FYI
I'd fish with it. I'd build a 3 color Rodgeeks with a painted Matagi seat and a multi-color random abstract EVA grip. Wrap the guides to match each color on the reel.

Yeah but the multiple bright colors would kind of go in line with the Autism Awareness theme. That would be pretty awesome.
4 pages later, no publicity is bad publicity ????♂️

If it does what I need, then yes, I'd like it. I had a hyper speed Zillion that had similar green highlights. Beautiful reel, but too fast for my taste.
By golly I'll fish with it! On second thought, I've seen a few kids around the lake that would give their arm and a leg for it.
Was the decision to be 'ultra-limited' production AFTER they got reaction to the first run?

I would mount this on a green 13 fishing rod, to finish off the look, while wearing these

Exactly. This is too fun. Great comments. I'm laughing pretty hard here, going through them all. Ya know, I actually like the thing! I don't want one, but... it's different in a creative sorta way. Unlike the colored blank and seats that a (to remain unnamed) components retailer keeps touting. I am shocked at how ugly they are. To each their own for sure. I just don't get it. I refuse to get it!
*That's the new Damon Wayans "In Living Color" model spinning reel ! ... I'd pair it up with an all lime color spinning rod which would be my go to set up on cloudy days (lol !)
That reel is a jerk to colorblind people
Don't forget sun and wind protection. Do you think I can get the glasses in a polarized version?
As a co, Buy reel to get into the head of your boater during tournaments. Catch the fish he misses due to lack of concentration.????
