Price looks pretty sweet.

Awesome rods- customer service is terrible. Ordered one in july with scheduled time of 3-5 weeks after 8 weeks and 3 different answers I cancelled and got a refund. Previous issues with a return which i finally was able to return in person.
They are swamped and will gladly tell you how busy they are. Many, many of same complaints from others on FB.
I have 4 and they are my favorite rods for steelhead/salmon but would never order from them again but will buy more at the next big show if they have them in hand.

Well that's a little disappointing because they look great and I considered one for a finesse spinning rod.

Sounds to me like they're a great buy if they have them on hand but if you're placing an order, don't expect it anytime soon.
According to the FB page post I saw, they're taking orders now for a December delivery.
They do look like nice rods and I could probably live with the price....The waiting game kills it for me. Maybe once they get caught up they'll be more readily available.
I see TW has added North Fork Composite Edge Strike bass rod @ $400 without any info on models?
There is 2 rod companies in Woodland WA, G. Loomis and Lamiglas. Gary Loomis sold his company to Shimano. Lamiglas was focused on warm water fishing rods long before Loomis, I used Lamiglas rods for 35 years and didn't know about Loomis because Gary targeted cold water salmon and steelhead anglers. It wasn't until the trophy bass anglers started using Loomis rods that G. Loomis started targeting warm water bass anglers that his rods became famous and Shimano bought them. I believe Lamiglas decision to take over the cold water rod business that Gary left open by selling his company was a mistake.
Lets hope Gary gets his business going, he is without dought a phenomial rod builder.

Fantastic rods. Their blanks rival the top offerings from any company. I haven't had to deal with customer service yet, but I have heard of some issues in the past. They do take a while to ship, but I just order mine during the winter and they're ready to roll well before springtime.
I love NFC blanks, I have a Kistler Magnesium 3 and its a awesome rod for its price.
I bought one of their rods when they had a sale last winter. They told me the wait time was about 5-6 weeks. But two weeks later I got notification my rod had shipped, and I received it 2 days after that.
I love the blank, just about on par with my NRX. I DON'T like the reel seat or the straight carbon fiber handle. To the point I am going to talk to a local rod builder about changing both.
Blanks are nice. The 807 is an awesome blank by NFC.
Every time I see a post about Edge rods I feel regret about not finding out about the Edge Kickstarter when they were starting out.

Whats the Mag 3? I've heard of the MAg 2 and the Helium 3. Did Trey come out with a new Mag Line?

Used to live just down the road from these company's. Have owned both....and both company's have gone through many changes. Doesn't Gary now work for Temple Fork or one of the other fly rod company's.
No first hand knowledge and doubt there will be given all the other great options with stellar CS. A quick Google search shows shows to many udersatisfied customers with the product and CS.

That's unfortunate as the look of the rods is sweet!

I was on their website today because they are having a 50% off MSRP sale right now if ordering directly from the factory. I'm not in a hurry to receive a rod so might make the leap.
Do you have a casting or spinning rod? (I'm looking at a spinning rod.) I hold a spinning rod with my whole hand in front of the reel stem and am wondering how comfortable that would be with this reel seat?
The 50% off msrp "sale" is their regular price- cheap marketing ploy to look like you are getting a deal.
As mentioned there are to many other great rod companies out there with honest, customer service - After multiple issues with edge i am done.
Good luck.......

I have a casting rod, so I can't really tell you how the spinning rod would feel.
Hmmm....these look good. Anyone have one? I’m gonna need two more rods that I don’t need this spring.

I have 2 of the Delta Edge rods, specifically the Delta FSC-CBG 714-1 and the Delta FSC-MBR 744-1 rods. Out of all my rods, these are probably my favorite rods to use.
The 714-1 is rated as a Medium Moderate action and compared to other rods in my arsenal, I'd probably put it somewhere between a Moderate to Fast action. Super sensitive and extremely light weight. Great for a crankbait or jerkbait rod.
The 744-1 is rated as a MH rod Fast action and is about right for that rating. It also has a slightly bigger diameter on the blank. Still super light weight and can handle throwing larger baits.
The carbon tex grips are really nice and doesn't get molded unlike traditional cork. Plus it doesn't get slippery when wet or if you have fish slime on your hands. Definitely really sensitive as I can feel bottom contact when using jigs or bottom contact baits.
I like these so much that I plan on buying the spinning reel Delta FSS-MBR 723-1 to match with either my Stradic ci4+ or ballistic. The only cons for buying these is what everyone has been saying.... long wait times. It took me about 5-8 weeks before I got them, so expect long wait times. Though I'm sure they're ramping up now and getting their logistics in order. Also, I had one of them broken on delivery due to a bent shipping tube, but I spoke with their customer service and had a replacement sent over within 2 weeks expedited at no charge.
Matt Allen spoke positively of them in a spring gear review. He had the 7' heavy model.
Check out their fb page for complaints and every other fishing forum before you make the decision to order a rod from them............ I have a friend that after 4 months of nothing had to file a paypal claim to try and get his $ refunded. Seems to be quite common with them and it was my experience as well.
Pi*s poor customer service. Cheap components too.
Love my edge rods. I still think gary's weibe reel seat is the best on the market, and nfc blanks are the deal.

That new “weibe” reel seat he uses now is nowhere near the quality they used to be on the old loomis rods. Feels like cheap plastic

I can't tell a difference. Looks or feel. Where did you learn he changed the material?

I was wondering if they were the same shape as the old ones. I have a pair of old Loomis rods with the Weibe seats and with an Alphas on them it’s hands down the most comfortable reel+seat combo I have ever fished with.

I stated it feels like cheap plastic not he uses cheap plastic.
My black widow rods reel seat looks similar but feels cheaper. I had a reel come off on a hook set first outing with the rod. The area where the back part of the reel foot gave out. Part of the plastic that is recessed to accommodate the reel gave way. I also had the tip guide insert pop out at the same time the reel seat failed. I contacted edge and they could care less. The way it locks up doesn’t feel the same to me either. I’ve used loomis rods with weibe reel seat for almost 20 years and this isn’t the same quality seat as the original. Just my thoughts.
I’d buy one, if they shipped to Canada. I do have one black widow edge 703c. It has a more moderate action compared to a Loomis equivalent, which isn’t really a bad thing. Casts finesse Swimbaits and small poppers like a dream.
I would like to give these a try. I like the looks of the carbon fiber handles. But have to keep priorities straight. Had to get 2 new rods for the kids, plus they’ll need reels and am planning a summer getaway to target bass in a bigger lake. Maybe next season. Or worse. The dead of winter next year.....
I just want to add that as mentioned not all or actually I would say most of the edge rods labeled x-fast are not. More like fast or medium fast. 704 x-fast, 705 med-fast, 706 med-fast/fast, 786 med-fast, 787 med-fast, 806 med-fast (806 is labeled as mod). I own these rods and hope this helps if you are considering buying one.
I own 11 Edge Rods, seven bass and four Steelhead. I’ve placed orders four times and received the rods within the time frame they promised. Some as soon as a week. In my opinion, these are the best bass rods I’ve ever owned. Sold all my G Loomis. For a very high end rod, the price is very reasonable to say the least. Best deal I’ve found and I couldn’t be more happy with them. My guide friend says they’re the best bass rods he’s fished, and that’s saying something.

Your experience with them is an exception- Everyone i know that has ordered from them has had issues and most have cancelled their orders after waiting at least double the time they were told- Reaching them is impossible as they return no phone calls or emails. Check out the hundreds of complaints before you think about ordering from them..........
Just an update since they burned me numerous times starting 2 years ago when they told me they were understaffed and still have not changed.
Check out the last 2 months of complaints on their FB page. I cannot believe that anyone would order from them again.....

One of my friends is going through it right now, bad blank, missing rod, now damaged guides. So much promise =(
When the negative reviews outnumber the positive it is more than a problem.........................
I was offered one heck of a deal on here for one but I would have to have one in hand before I could commit to such a dramatic change in grip which is why the guy was selling it. Had I been around for the kickstarter I would have rolled the dice on a couple. That was an offer that couldn't be refused. That's too bad they cant meet demand. Sounds a little like the Exprides. At least Shimano hasn't promised anyone anything. At the place I have bought all my rods from, they have been taking pre-orders since April and shipments are due in a few weeks. I doubt they get enough to fill their pre-orders. I would love to get one some day.
bumping this thread up. If anyone owns the black widow lineup please share your review of the rod. Thank you
Anybody have an Edge rod that they care to comment. I am between an Edge, Expride or something else. I want something very sensitive. I have an expride and really like it. I just don't know how it compares to the Edge. Is it one the most sensitive rods available? If not what is?

I own a Delta CBR. I like it a lot. I also have a first strike spinning rod. I don’t like the balance of it. I’m still waiting on a black widow that I ordered in early December. I also own exprides and love them, I’ve been acquiring them slowly as I sell some rods from last season.

Maybe try the new poison adrena?
Stay away from these guys. I really think they are a pyramid scheme. They use deep discounts to get as many orders as possible to get cash but they don't for fill most of their orders.
I fell for it. After a few months, I tried to get a refund but they just ignored me. I had to pester them and complain on FB for over a month before I got my refund.
There are just too many good companies out there to even consider Edge.
I ordered one of their black widow rods once. It came on time but the first guide was very badly misaligned. The handle was also not flush with the reel seat. Rather than deal with customer service I got it rewrapped by a local builder. For what they were charging I was not impressed with the build quality.
Check out their rating on the Better Business Bureau- A nice perfect grade of F.
What's wrong with an F? I use to receive these on papers I worked very hard on.
HEED THE WARNINGS ON THIS THREAD AND PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! Although I was able to get my money refunded within a reasonable time, it was also my experience that they will not answer the phone. I ordered a rod on November 2, 2019, and waited until the second week of February for my rod to be built and shipped. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had been had, and felt compelled to request a refund. In my opinion, this company should not be in business.
