The Carrot Stix plague has hit my bass club.
Carrot Stixs all over the place.
Is this a sickness?
Now I have to get one, maybe two.
Everyone who has them loves them.
And like the wonderful Forum member who PM'ed me on his experience, a number of guys have retired their other rods and are going to use the Carrot Stix 90% of the time.
You know it is a sickness when they are no longer using their Loomis rods.
The Carrot Stix Plague. Is it on the way to your city????
Present here too! I just recieved my first one...7'6" Heavy last night. Can't wait to try it out.
ive messed with them but ive not felt the need to drop $150 on them. im sure id never buy a casting rod, a spinning maybe.
Proud to say that Tin and I were the first guys in RHode Island to buy them. Took everyone else long enough....
I know your fear and I have been infected. I just got my fourth Carrot a couple of days ago. I love them, but I still use my Loomis rods alot. The Carrots are sensitive and light, the split grip is the best. My only problem is they don't offer(or didn't until after I got mine) any shorter rods in the MH range. I guess that means I'll have to get another one or two.
IMO, I don't think you'll find a better rod for $150 or less.
I'm not a big fan of their guides, but the rods certainly are light. I'd like to see a custom build using one of their blanks and perhaps their reel seat, along with a set of Fuji titanium/SiC guides.

Okay, I'll disagree. It's ugly, and I'll take an Avid over it, for that matter, a Premier. Just me though........
It is a plague!!!

I kinda got the sniffles last year...picked up a 6'10'' MH Gold on ebay for around $130...really like it...light and sensitive...but no others, even though I do check them out every time I'm in the market for a new rod...

I've fished with one for a day, and really came away impressed. I build my sticks, so I'm probably a bit more picky about components than others.
The guides were my only real negatives, but I really haven't heard of people having problems with them, so I assume they function just fine.
Overall I think they're killer rods, and very likely the best in their price range.
I am affected, I have spent the last 5 days trying to figure out which one to get. i was on ebay, craigs list, and several other sites until 1 am last night trying to find a deal on one. I will probably go buy one today because it is killing me. I got the fever and the only prescription is more carrot stick.
I like mine with a little ranch on them, maybe some blue cheese once in a while. ;D
Love my carrot stixs!! Im the only around here that i know that has one but im sure im wrong!
Welcome to last season, Sam!
well just got back from gander. I picked up the 7'2 med xt fast drop shot rod.
now the question is which reel to get. hmmmm the bait monkey has me by the short hairs ;D

By Gander, do you mean Gander Mountain? I didn't know they carried carrot stix. I just checked online and they don't have them listed. I might have to drive down to my local Gander Mountain and check it out.
I own two out of three that Im interested in. I just dont like most of the actions. The two I have are great though.
I had actually driven it out of my head that I wanted one. Now it is back in there going "buy me... you know you want me... buy me...".
Ill tell u what i fished my carrot gold 2day for the first time and im impressed id def buy another one.. now there not a loomis but for the money there a sweet stick.. like said before the guides r chessy :'(
Theyre similar to cheetos... Orange..and once you have one you want more
Apparently the plague has just hit my area too. Walking through the parking lot at my tournament this morning its seemed like everybody had at least one carrot stix in the boat.
its struck the tidewater region too.. i think for good reason too.. they are just simply a awesome rod!
while we're on the subject of carrot stix......i was hoping you guys that own some could give me some advice. I'm looking at the 6'6" medium action, with moderate fast tip rated for lures 1/4- 5/8 oz. I'm planning on using it for senkos, weightless plastics (flukes), and small plugs. Do you think this would work, or would the moderate fast tip not be the right choice?
Thanks

We will have several at Kentucky Lake,
but other than BassResource.com guys,
I have never seen one anywhere I fish.
Maybe availability (in store) is an issue
in this region, I don't really know.
BTW, If you're looking for an antidote
for the plague, get yourself a Lamiglas
SR705R cranking stick. They are a few
shades lighter than ugly orange!
8-)
I just got my second last week, and plan on getting more. There is a local shop around here that sells all fishing reels and rods CHEAP. For instance, my carrot stick was $120 and the Curado E5 I bought was $138. Gotta love local tackle shops.
