Think I'll just maintain an ongoing log from now on instead of posting a new thread each time I go out. So I went out today for a little bit and caught a decent lmb.
Spent another hour out trying a new place, and I think I found one I liked. Only tried a few points but on the second one I hooked into this 2.5 lber. Nothing compared to the hogs u guys pull but I'm having fun out there lol
She took a crank bait off a grassy point. Real healthy northern strain imo
2.5 are still nice. WTG. So does that make a 1.5 and a 2.5 less than a week?
haha yeah man! Hopefully soon I'll run into some 4's like you
Thanks for checking out the thread!

Always and don't worry it will come. I see your PB is between 5-6. Mine is the 4.9 so you got me beat.
that is a nice healthy fish right there for sure. i'll take 'em like that any day of the week. twice on sundays. stay on 'em man.
hey thanks!!
Another good one ICU812... WTG

Went out for an hour today to a nearby lake that I didnt' think we'd do too well at. The lake is small and gets a lot of traffic etc.
Couldnt get a jig bite or crankbait bite, couldn't get a swimbait bite. Moved around to different points and structure, not a bite.
Finally slowed way down and jigged a small T-rigged senko in about 25 feet of water, slowly working it up the water column from the bottom, jigging it up and letting it drop. Finally got a few bites. Maybe 5 feet off the bottom? Little smallmouths. I guess that means the school was suspending? lol anyway I managed to land one - got a pic but its a dink lol so I dont think I'll be posting it unless I'm begged to show what a Maine dink smallie looks like haha.
It was good to figure them out though - I found a school although it was a school of little guys. Don't think I'll be spending much time on this lake.
Good job. So does this mean that you have your boat all rigged up? The spawn is pretty much over so the smallies should be moving deeper.
Got the boat running and should have my fish finder installed today.
It's my first time doing all this so I'm learning as I go, trying to go slow so I don't make too many mistakes lol. I don't have the trolling motor yet so I'm installing my tranducer in the stern.
If all goes well today maybe I'll be able to go out tonight and see what this fish finding's all about lol.
Yeah it was hard to find any bites and it was good to find a few deep - but I don't really like that lake and probably won't be going too much. It's just close and easy to drag the gf to lol. But I gotta get out on better waters here! Hope all is well man!
Thats a good fish.
Thanks man! Best of the season so far! Not for long though
Installed my fish finder today
I wanted to take it out tonight and really can't believe I didn't, but I had some prior obligations and I guess it's good to let the sealant sit overnight. It took everything I had to drill holes in the transom
Can't effin wait to get out and see if/how this thing works.
finally got to take the humminbird out and see what's what. or try. lol. I still don't really know what's what but I'm learning each time I go out. Couldn't find any deep structure in the pond I was on and could only stay for about an hour and a half so after taking as long as I could racing around looking for underwater structure I ended up hitting a grassy point and sticking a 1.5 lb pickerel on an rtrap for my only catch. Think it's my first rtrap fish though which is cool. alright bout to pass out.
Thats cool, I fished a tournament on Three Mile Lake on the 26th of june. I was fishing an X-caliber type Rtrap and I think I lost My biggest bass ever and I was in a tournament when it happened ! It hurt so much. I even had a fishing club member next to me when I hooked it and he saw the whole thing and heard my BLANK BLANK spurts of poor english vocab. I did my best and I couldn't beat it got it right next to the boat and it dove for the bottom wrapped around a rock and broke my line ! I have never had a fish kick my butt like that fish did! I caught a lot of nice fish on that lure that day.

Man that's the worst! I definitely know what it's like to lose fish - lost three smallies just the other day that might have been PBs. They just wanted to tease me that day I guess. That and I was trying to be cute and was using an ultralight rod with a broken tip lol so that didn't help my hookset ratio I'm sure. Good to hear from you man, hope all is well and you've been out there stickin pigs as usual
Like the long runnig thread. Keep catchin 'em and keep posting!
Thanks man!
Went out with Beezy tonight to a place she wanted to try. I was being stubborn and almost said we should focus on a place we had already tried but I’m glad I went with the flow. We were there for a couple hours and the bite was pretty much on. Nothing crazy but lots of bites, Had 2 spit the hook on me and caught 3. My hookset's really been sucking. The first 2 were both about 1.5 and the last one was about a pound. Yellow trick worms were what they wanted. They were in the weeds by a dropoff. Caught my first dropshot fish on some ultralight which was fun. A nice small beautiful pond in Maine with wonderful company - can’t wait to try again.
You can see on this second shot the dropshot hook really dug into the corner of the mouth like they say it will.
Way to go again ICU! The first pic I think it was more than 1.5 It just looks long. WTG How many Beezy catch?
How that depth finder working for you now?

Yeah that one might have been 1.64 or something but there were no 2 lbers in the boat last night
It was a good time at a new place though which is always nice.
Beezy lost a few and I think only ended up sticking one, but it was a nice healthy bass. All the bass we caught there were really chunky.
The depth finder is working pretty well, still figuring it out of course. I messed a little with the sensitivity and I think that may have helped, but either way just knowing the depth is a huge improvement! Still trying to find the best way to find and sit on structure - thinking some marker buoys might help. Trolling motor coming soon!
Thanks for stopping by the thread!
Hit up a small local pond today for about an hour and a half – got ther right around 7 and stayed till dark which was right around 8:30. Was throwing a single tail grub on an ultralight drop shot rig. I've been into fishing for bass on ultralight lately lol. Ran into two smallies and a pickerel that I thought was a bass on the way in. This last smallie here hit my dropshot right by the boat as I was reaching for a beer and about to call it a night. Strange how strikes like that happen a lot. This one weighted 1.82. The one earlier was like .9 lol. The 1.82 may be my pb I forget lol but it was a nice smallie for sure. They were in 15ft of water on a drop off that goes from aobut 6 ft to 21. Close to a rocky area. A nudge over 15” We were the only ones on the pond which I especially liked.
Went out for an hour and a half last night to a relatively new spot. Ended up following the loons to a spot where the baitfish were boiling in 15 FOW. Hooked into this little chunky guy on a shakey-headed trick worm right around the boils.
Went a little over 2 lbs. My first “Bird Fish” lol
Tried an Rtap to imitate the baitfish but no love. Moved to a grass flat by an island and hooked a decent pickerel on my topwater swimbait. Pickerel suck lol and have no fight but the initial strike is fun to see.
Moved to another grass flat with lots of stickups and fallen trees and hooked into a MONSTER bass that absolutley BOWED my MH St Croix and stayed low and buried in the grass all the way up to the boat. I made a huge mistake at that point and let the fish get under the boat and towards the stern where it wrapped the line around my anchor line and got off.
I swear it was probably a new PB largemouth – it’s hard to tell because it never surfaced but I feel like it was probably 5 or 6 lbs. It sucks that I never got to see it but at least I know now that there are some lunkers in that body of water and I can’t wait to get back out and get me some!
lol thanks guys for commiserating with me on losing my probable PB lol no matter - onwards and upwards
Got a chance to get out tonight for the usual 1 1/2 hour stint - wanted to try a different body of water so we went to a local lake that is supposed to have some decent smallies. It was a good chance for me to mess around with the depth finder and look for humps and dropoffs to fish because I figured the smallies are probably deep nowadays.
Didn't do that great but caught a little guy that wasn't pic worthy on a dropshotted curly tail grub in 17 ft of water. It was MAYBE a lb. But I'm enjoying the challenge of catching fish out in the middle of the water as opposed to fishing weedlines and bank structure that I can see. I feel that I'm on the verge of figuring a few things out about fishing deep water. So really I had a great time out there
Sounds like you don't need a depth finder that bad, you seem to find the fish regardless. We all lose the big one, maybe next time you will be able to update your photo with that fish.
HA yeah man let's hope - thanks for the love!

Only time I ever followed any loons they led me to a bar.
Oh, did you mean birds?
haha yeah man that's definitely a cool thing about being up in Maine you get to see some beautiful nature that isn't all over the rest of the country. But yeah I'm usually the loon leading ppl to the bar
Thanks for stopping thru!
took the dog out for a couple hours to see how he'd like being out on a boat - nothing deep but eventually ran into a little jig bite by some fallen timber and pulled a few more small guys out. Think I may have had a big one on a worm but of course it spit the hook Something about the way I'm fishing plastics lately has me missing lots of hooksets.
Here's the munchkins

I take my dog fishing as much as possible, but in the TX heat she doesn't do so well and moves around a ton. I feel that her moving around in my little aluminum boat makes too much noise. Good job finding fish. Hows that new depth finder working
Yeah the heat was pretty intense (mid 80's) and my dog didn't seem to be able to get too comfortable. I think I'll wait till it cools down and I have decks installed on the boat to bring him back out again.
Depth finder is helping a lot - used it today to find a dropoff with some underwater weeds where I hooked into this nice chunky guy.
Went a hair under 3 lbs at 2.86 for my pb lmb of the season
Thanks for stopping by the thread!
Got out for a few hours with my girl today. She was having great luck on a curly tail zoom worm – she stuck two really nice bass, which made the day worth it. I was throwing a huddleston swimbait most of the day and got my first hud strikes, but didn’t hook up with any swimbait fish. I switched over to a finesse jig for a few pitches around some timber and punked the skunk with this little 2 lber.
The heat wave finally broke and it was nice to get out on the water.

Welcome to the dark side!
Nice fish and I keep a spreadsheet log of each fish and the conditions and lure. I bank fish and hit most of the lakes I fish multiple time through the season and the log helps.
Deep - yeah man that was my first subsurface swimbait strike I've been doing pretty well with my Mickey Sr topwater - but now I have a little more confidence in throwing traditional hudds. I need to get some 8" ones though, I only have 6" and bet the 8" swim much better.
ChiCityBasser - Nice man that's a good idea. I try to keep most of that information in my head and I bet writing it down somewhere might prove to be helpful. I might try that in the future!
Got out for an hour today and thankfully I'm starting to learn this lake a little bit - stuck with the little finesse jig around some timber and stuck this 4.16 lber for my PB of the season! In my excitement I forgot to measure it's length but I'd guess around 20 inches or so? Really not positive - but it's good to confirm that there are big bass in these waters!
Very nice fish. Learning them jigs
Looks like your in them good now. Just got back from a three day canoe trip and fished some very under pressured water. Didn't catch any over five but caught a bunch of bass. Three were over four (largemouths) and one three and a half pound river smallie. Couldn't fish that good because my canoe got busted up and I had to jump in another canoe with two guys whom rather paddle like crazy so it was one quick cast to a piece of structure if I was lucky!
I might be down your way to prefish Toddy Thursday. I have a tournament there the weekend after next and it will Probably be the only time I can go. It will not help me much in two weeks but I need to get freshened up since I've only been there once this season.
Keep on them!

Yeah man I'm really liking them! I love the stoutness of the jig hook as opposed to worm hooks and also the fact that the jig hooks are exposed. Those two attributes are making me prefer jigs to worm fishing atm. I feel it's much easier for me to lose a fish on a worm.

Hey man good to see you! Yeah I’ve had a little luck lately but a few rough days too, but that just makes the good days all the better! I just love getting out there.
This pond I’ve been hitting is real close to where I live and in a relatively populated area so I’m just glad it provides such a nice fishery. I bet there are some 5-6 lbers in there.
Sounds like a fun trip man! Sorry your canoe got busted up lol but at least you got into some decent fishing. That 3 ½ pound river smallie must have been a nice fight! I gotta get out on the Penobscot soon and see if I can get some river smallmouths here.
Hey if you’re coming down to Toddy definitely let me know! I’ve only been there once this year as well and found a little structure that I’d like to check out but really I don’t know anything about the lake. It’d be cool to link up! I know there are some monsters in there after seeing that 8 lber they hauled out of there!
Either way good luck on your upcoming tourney!!

Yes, the 8" hudd is a different beast. It has a bigger thump than the 6", and is less subtle. You could also try some hudd 68s if you find them for cheap. Or a traditional paddletail, like an Osprey. I bet the water temp is high enough for those.
The funny thing with the hard swimbaits is that even little fish will hit them. I fished for about 2 hours this morning. Mostly threw a 6" BBZ Jr floater. I caught 3 bass on it, and guess what, the biggest was 14", and the smallest probably around 10" lol.
The weather’s been pretty iffy around here lately and I haven’t really had a chance to get out much, but I managed to pull a couple chunky 3lbers out recently so I figured I‘d share. I’m hoping to get up to a smallmouth fishery this weekend if all goes well and that should be a good time. These guys came on jigs.
When I first got out there I found a crazy bite that must have been smaller guys cuz they’d hit a rage craw on every toss but they’d keep tearing off the claws lol. Not sure if anyone else has ever had this happen to them but I went thru a whole pack like that lol I was being stubborn.
kinda sucks but I guess you could call it a pattern LOL
I chose not to waste another pack on the spot
Most of the time when that is happening to me it is bluegill! Good catches and keep it up!
Jeff
You can save those and use them as a finesse presentation when the bite gets tough.

Thanks for stopping thru and tight lines to you!
<Edit> Here's the vid of the single strand bass if you're interested. Lol Matt's a G
Are you ever going to slow down ICU?? WTG stay slaying them I see. How's your lady doing I haven't seen any pics by her lately or am I just missing them? So how many does that make for you on the year? How many 3's,4's all and all?

Lol yeah man I’ll slow down come winter probably – unless I get into Ice fishing haha I guess lots of ppl up here ice fish.
Yeah beezy’s caught a few that she hasn’t posted yet – I forget exactly but I think she stuck a nice healthy 2 the other day. She’s still looking to break 3lbs – hopefully this weekend we’ll run into some chunky smallies – gonna try to head up north and hit a smallmouth lake.
Man I only have one 4 this year so far and maybe six or seven 3’s. Just got a 3.8 yesterday that I could of SWORN would have been a 4 lol. I usually only get out for an hour or two at a time so sometimes it’s hard to really go searching for them, but I feel I’m getting better at locating them.
Got out and wanted to try something different so I tied this “flickin rig” I’d heard about on a spinning rod and boy were they loving it!
Pulled up to a ledge that went from 14 to 9 feet and parked at about 10 fow. Threw out the rig towards the deep and on my second cast my line shot up on the fall. I pulled back and set into a chunky 3 ½ lber that wanted to fight. Something I’m loving about the rig is the exposed jig hook – when you set that jig hook the fish really isn’t gonna go anywhere. So I fought it in and got it in the boat.
So to me this is already a good day lol. And I’m liking the rig. So I throw it back out same spot and whack I get it hit again on the fall. Nice big fight again and nice big fish. Same class. 19” 3 ½ lb.
Not sure what the bass are feeding on but they seem real healthy in this lake.
So I shoot a little vid on my phone and snap the pic, weigh and measure the fish. Then I cast back out and the bite has stopped. Probably foolish of me to waste time when a bite like that is going on I know, but I was having a great time. I fish around the spot a little more and pull up a little smallie. Didn’t even know this place had smallies. Not a huge fish but hey 2 species day.
I figure I should maybe throw a crankbait on and fancast the area to search for schools if there are schools around. So I throw a suspending crank on and hook into something. Lol 12” white perch. Haha what's going on? Lol 3 species day.
So that spot slows down. I still want to try something different so I move real shallow and tie on a frog. I’m throwing a frog in about 2 feet of water and it gets blown up by some pickerel weeds. The bass engulfed it. 2 ½ lbs. My first frog fish.
Don’t get any more frog bites, so I go over to some timber and toss a jig. I feel it getting bit but it feels small. I toss it again and set the hook on a crappie lol. I would have gotten a pic but I lost it right at the boat as I was poppin it up out of the water. Didn’t know there were crappie in here. 4 species Day lol
I move up towards a dock and throw out the flickin rig and catch 3 more bass in 3 more casts. I’m really liking the rig lol. The first two were around 2. The 3rd came when I threw past the dock into a little cove and came in as the best fish of the day at 3.86. Nice man I’m pushing a 15lb limit here lol.
It’s about time to go in and I had left the last spot to get that last pic lol so I moved to a ledge close to the landing and threw the flicking rig. Hooked into a 19” pickerel lol to close out the 5 species Day.
Nice! I had a 7 species day about 3 weeks ago. Kinda crazy, but between the 2 of us we caught, lmb, gar, catfish, crappie, bream, pumpkinseed and a drum! LOL
Jeff
Forgot to ask, what bait where you using on your flick shake?

Wow I felt that slap!! lol. You probably did the best thing in creating a fish log.
That is a great day on the water. I love it when it is a multi-species kinda day. Nice report, fish, and pics. Congrats to you and thanks for sharin.

lol no slap intended from me if that's what you mean. You're catching 5 lbers man I'm just tryna keep up! But yeah the fish log is just easier for me than trying to think up a new topic each time I go out lol.
Speaking of going out . . .
Took Beezy out yesterday and ran into some deep water lmb. Was hoping to get up to a smallmouth lake today but the wether is looking like it’s against us
Here’s a couple chunks from yesterday and my first swimjig fish. The first 2 fish both went around 3 1/2 lbs and came on the flickin rig.
Had to break out the vvs diamond nail clippers for this picture
And my first ever swimjig fish – this ¾ oz jig and 6” trailer casts a mile – so although the fish only went around 2lbs the fight in still took forever lol
Nice fish and you are really enjoying a good summer and yeah some days its rough but I experiment on those days with different lures and techniques.
Way to go and you will get into the 5lb fish soon with the way you are hooking up.
God luck and keep them coming

Thanks boss! It's been great falling back in love with bass fishing! I'll be down south soon enough and on the hunt for a DD!
Finally got a Hudd fish! Haven’t been throwing a hudd for too long but the one I’ve been throwing has been weedless. Decided to throw my non-weedless one today and finally hooked into a hudd fish.
You can see in this shot how well it was hooked.
I was stoked. Not the biggest fish but ok they do eat them. Kept throwing it for about 20 minutes and something felt weird on the cast. Reeled it in and I’m like what in the . . .
So what these things last one fish??
So I had to change swimbaits and as I was switching up for some reason I threw out a curly tail on a shaky head. When I was finished tying up the new swimbait I pulled up the worm and right at the boat this little smallie hit it.
Didn’t get any more bites but I was only out for a few hours. Had a great time and was glad to knock a hudd fish of the list, or soft swimbait fish at all for that matter.
Nice so is the Hud ruin now?? Never heard of those looks neat. Man I need to find some LMB and Smallies together. Are my spots I fish is LMB only, we have some just to far the ones I know. Keep it up ICU!
Very nice fish, Congrats!

Yeah the hudd is ruined - 15 bucks wasted on a 3lb fish
Hudd is short for Huddleston. Here's a link to the exact swimbait I lost
http://www.***.com/Huddleston_Deluxe_6_Trout/descpage-HD6T.html
I hear you about the smallies man. There are some good smallie fisheries about an hour away that I keep trying to get to - hopefully this weekend if the weather cooperates.
Here are a few videos of some west coast lmb that came on hudds. The weights aren't verified and there's plenty of controversy about this guy and his fish, but regardless they're big fish. Hope all is well with you man!
Guess you can only post two vids per post so here's another impressive hudd vid. Like I said, say what you want about this guy and his whole ordeal but the fish are pretty big man.
Nice fish dude! Would you mind sharing the set-up you were using for that hudd?

Of course man!
Lure - 6" hudd trout in sliver/green
Rod - Okuma Big Bait Rod 7'11" Extra Hvy (a little overkill but it was recommended here as a good swimbait rod to go with my reel - should have maybe gone a little lighter but this should be good for bigger baits and maybe light saltwater fishing)
Reel - Shimano Calcutta 400b (got a great deal on this reel last year)
Line - 50 lb braid w 20 lb mono leader
All of this is a little much for the size of fish that took it lol but I'm out of here in less than a year and on to bigger and badder bass lol - a DD is in my future.

Way to go.. better to have an overpowered set-up than an underpowered one.
Braid with leader is pretty interesting. I know that Matt Allen recommends it. I'm just too scared of casting off 20$ baits on backlashes, or losing a bait while setting the hook with a bit of slack in the line. God knows I've lost some jigs and plastics while doing that (hookset with slack in the line) on my finesse spinning setup which has braid + leader.
I ought to give that a try soon.. I've been losing quite a few bass on hudds/ single hook baits lately, and since I don't get bit more than twice or so a trip, it sort of hurts.
Keep catching them!

I hear you. Yeah when I started using braid I wasn't using a leader, but I started using one pretty quick. I don't think it adds to backlashes for me at all - and the little extra stretch seems to help on the hookset. I've caught more and better fish with braid and a leader than with straight braid as well, so it adds to my confidence to have a leader tied on. Thanks for stopping thru!
Finally got up a little north for the first time to try to figure out some Maine smallies. Didn’t get to spend as much time on the water as I would have liked but had a great time with my woman and I’ll be going back to this lake to really dissect the water.
Ended up with a few decent ones, largest of the day being a new PB of 3.04 shown here.
You can see the tail is like bit up or something.
Decent fish came on jigs and smaller ones were chasing crankbaits. I wanted to go deep and hunt for monsters but we never got out deep for long. Really can’t wait to get back out and up the PB. I marked a few spots while we were running along that looked like they might be good holding areas. The wind and waves were a little hard on our little boat but I’ll get back out there and tough it out soon enough.
Congrats on the new pb smallie!
Nice Smallie!!
Beautiful smallie. Congrats on the time well spent with the girlfriend too. I hear ya on the wind being tough on your little boat too. We also have a little boat and I love it but when its really windy it seems to be more like a sailboat.
Hey thanks people! Yeah the wind can be an issue with the small boat sometimes for sure, especially when the person in front is trying to lay out and work on her tan and the water keeps splashing over the bow on them lol but you didn't hear that from me
I enjoyed reading the thread. But I wanted to point out that that Hud is not ruined. One word... MENDIT!!! I have one Hud in particular that has caught around 15 fish. They last a long time but you do have to repair them from time to time with Huddlebond, mendit or some other soft bait glue.
One other thing on the weedless Hud. If you extend the hook slot opening on the back just past the bend in the hook. You will have a much better hook up ratio. You will see what I mean if you grab the bait and press the hook out. It has a tendency to hang up. I just take razor blade and put a small slice in it.
Hope this helps.

yeah I saw the huddlebond on their website, I need to get some mendit or some of that. Thanks for the tip! And thanks for the weedless hudd tip too! Cheers!
Thanks for stopping thru the thread as well! Glad you enjoyed it!
Got up hella early and spent a few hours at dawn frog fishing which was fun. Missed a few fish but hooked a couple as well. Nothing huge with the biggest being 2.5# but fun to get those blow ups in the erie, still, foggy water early in the morning like that.
This fish had a bite taken out of it’s dorsal fin/back. I’ve been catching bitten fish lately for some reason lol

So did you ever make it to that smallie lake I told you about? I've got that one pretty much figured out but every once and a while it kicks my but. Nice looking smallmouth!
lol I made it there once and did exceptionally poorly lol. I really gotta step my smallie game up! I caught my first one just this season but still it feels like I should have a better lock on them. I'm gonna keep trying for them and I'll be making it back to that spot you told me about soon. I'm pretty determined to figure them out while I'm here in Maine!
Good to hear from you man! I take it you've been out on the water actually fishing lately instead of online talking about it like the rest of us haha. Hope it's been going well!

Been fishing on just about every that I'm off. Just learned how to read my fish finder and have been catching smallies in 30+ foot of water. I've been drop-shotting smelt looking flukes, I can actually see my rig on the finder and watch the smallies on the screen actually come up and take it. I can even tell if it is a perch or bass on the screen. I actually start by finding the white perch and then you will find the bass. I was watching bass on the screen come up from 34ft to about 12ft going right through a cloud of perch and go back down to 34ft, must be feeding on the smaller perch. It is really cool I haven't had this much fun fishing in awhile. This winter I'm going to buy a real nice finder to put on the bow. It's going to have side imaging and down imaging, I think I've unlocked a secret weapon for tournament fishing! This is how i had caught and lost that giant smallmouth!

Man it sounds like you really have that fish finder on lock there. I’m still definitely working on figuring mine out. Every time I think I might have it nailed it laughs at me. I’ll think I’m on a school of monsters and fish the spot for 30 min without a bite lol
I really like the way you described the way you’re using it. One day you’ll have to show young grasshopper how it’s done.
Got a chance to get out on the hunt for some river smallies. Had a great time! Caught around 20 fish, the largest being a new PB of 3.9
Here’s the 3.9
It measured 19” and came on a jig with a rage craw trailer
Here are a few pics of some of the other ones
I feel like the smaller ones in the 1.5-2# range give a better fight. I think I heard that somewhere and so far I’ve found it to be the case.
The fish came on all sorts of lures – from a 10” worm to jigs to tubes to rage craws to spinnerbaits. Had a great time trying out different techniques and trying to find some bronzebacks on the big ole Penobscot!
Congrats on the new pb. I wanna catch some smallies this winter bad.
Jeff
Thanks man! Yeah I think the smallmouth fishing is supposed to pick up here towards fall. I'm gonna be hitting the river more and more as the weather cools down.
I am promised at least one smallmouth trip this fall/winter so hopefully I can catch a nice one. Haven't fished for them in many years, so to up my pb of 2 3/4 shouldn't be hard! MAYBE!!

Was this the Union river? There is some good smallmouth fishing there! Or was it the Penobscott?
I just caught my new PB smallmouth too, congrats!
