10-24-12
Me and my buddy took off from work yesterday to go fishing, since the season is coming close to the end for us and it was going to be the best day out of the week.
Weather Condition: Overcast during the morning, sunny during afternoon.
Water Condition: light green tint to it.
Water Temp: 61 degrees
Wind: 2-5 MPH.
Conditions were great! But fishing was extremely rough! I'm not sure why, dropped the boat in around 8am and fished non stop until 5pm. I only caught a half a pound white bass, 1lb largemouth and 2lb 9oz largemouth. My buddy hooked into a 3lb pike, but lost it at the boat.
Very hard day fishing. We fish flats, docks, dropOffs, points, laydowns and shorelines with crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, jerkbaits, spooks.
Not sure why fishing was such a struggle yesterday...
Those are some nice fish WTG!
Thank you!!

Hahaha boo!!!!!!!
11-11-12
Went out today just for about three hours, completely struck out. Started out fishing a deep edge off a side of a massive flat with spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Nothing but a tiny perch hitting my crankbait as I lifted it from the water at the boat. Moved on to docks with a chatterbait and crankbait with no success. Then finished out the day targeting humps in about 25ft of water with a DD cranks and nothing.
Rough day!
6-29-13 carolina rigged these boys by 10am 3lbs & 2lbs 4oz
Nice fish. I grew up near philly myself and i think i recognize the lake you are fishing at....
Fun diary, keep it up
thank you guys! i love the markings on that fish... anyone know what those dark marks are?

I have read and been told to think of them as bass freckles aka pigmentation abnormalities that certain fish will have and has no effect on the fish
Nice pics
Also wanted to add this pic of my buddy who fished with me with his 2lb 8oz Largemouth while Jig fishing structure
That nice looking bass
thanks! that day was full of high fives and hugging each other lol
Decided to go bank fishing with my buddy today... hooked into this guy using a drop shot. No scale bummer! He had awesome black marks on his lips..
Nice looking bass!! Are you an Eagles fan too? We need to step it up this year under Chip Kelly hope his offense lives up to the hype
thanks man! lol not much into football here
caught my first ever marked cover bass with humminbird unit today after work! This Post Spawn Bass was located in 12-14' of water in middle of lake holding close to submerged tree. 3lbs 8oz 18.5" length x 13" girth. So rewarding to use your electronics and catch fish! Super stoaked right now!
Nice lookin fish!
Thanks man!
This Northern Pike wanted my spinnerbait pretty bad. Caught off a flat in 5' of water surrounded by 15' of water in late May.
So proud right now! my girlfriend crushed it today! Her first ever Double bass day! And it's only her second time ever out fishing with me! 1lb 4oz & 2lb 8oz! 17" length x 10.75" girth on the kicker!
Met up with my buddy after work today, we both had our boats out on the water, what an awesome time!
I caught this nice little crappie, and this 2lb 4oz Bass. My Buddy caught this beautiful 3lber.
over the last couple days of summer fishing, here are a few bass I caught including a walleye.
1lb 4oz Walleye
1lb 8oz Bass on Drop Shot
2lb 8oz Bass on Drop Shot
4lb 8oz Bass on Chatterbait
Huh, looks like you are righty on spinning reels and left on baitcasters. Just looking at those lefty baitcasters makes my hands feel funny haha, awesome fish! Do those crappies eat drop shots or do you target them? I have caught a few on drop shots before.
hah I'm left handed on both, thanks man they were fun to catch! I don't target crappie, they usually hit my spinnerbaits. But you can easy target them on the drop shot.
I'm left handed on both as well, nice catches man. Keep on postin'
Finally caught my first smallmouth and wow was this a fight!!!
4lbs 2oz 21" Length x 13.25" Girth
Drop Shot 18' deep Humps in middle of the lake today 7/17/14

I'm not saying, Just saying.

A-Jay
Thanks A-Jay! haha exactly!
Took my buddy out on my boat last night for some late night fishing. We both haven't fished nights and it was a blast!! Most of our bass came around midnight! I caught my first ever Midnight Bass 3lbs even and my buddy hooked into a 3lbs 8oz as well. With a mix of 2lbers.
3lbs even
3lbs 8oz
Nice Bass ~
Night Operations for bass are very different than day fishing in so many ways.
It's easy to get addicted to - especially with results like that. (which are not uncommon).
Congrats
btw - your "season" is almost over (July). Perhaps you'll consider extending it this year

Yeah night fishing is now got me thinking... This was my first time ever keeping my boat out on the lake in the am hours. It was definitely a different world on feh dark water. Surprisingly they were hitting drop shots. But all my bass came from chatterbaits. The wind was heavy all day yesterday and never stopped at night. I'm still trying to figure out the a good technique to locate and get big bass to hit during the night hours. Lol hey my season is now extended until December lol

Been fishing the night shift for bass for years - less than some more than others.
For me the same baits that work during the day work at night. Same places too - occasionally fish come a little shallower at night and even invade places that are usually void of bass during the day but have plenty of bait - like swimming area's / beaches. Might be worth a look.
IMO night bass fishing is a totally different animal. One that offers a Huge up side including making one a much better daylight angler.
Good Luck and Stay Safe out there (wear your pfd all night)

Thanks A-Jay! Appricate the insight and tips!

Thanks brotha! This catch was easiest, my hardest fighting and most memorable hook up I've ever had.
Three little pigs from last night on the lake! My two biggest went 4lbs 4oz & 2lbs 12oz. With a 2lb even guy to add to the mix! Also lost a giant at the boat towards the end of the night.
took my mom out on the lake for the first time this year. Did I get out-fished? obviously. Not only did I get out fished, but my mom caught her first Smallmouth Bass, Landed her first night fishing bass, and to top it all off Broke her new PB! 2lb 4oz smallmouth & 3lb 10oz largemouth.
Holy Smokes - you're fishing in August ~
Getting into some great bass ~ and at night no less
Congrats to your Mom on her the New PB and to you for being a Good Guide.
A-Jay
Lol yes I'm fishing in August! It's tough during the days, but night time is a completely different world! Thanks A-Jay! Appreciate it.
finally back on the water this year! So yesterday 4/29/16 after work, I fished from 5-8pm and thankful that i did! Caught these two beauties! 4lbs 8oz and 2lbs even. water temp 60degrees, weather was overcast with little rain showers, outside temp 48, and winds of 9mph.
went out this Saturday 4/30/16 from 11-6 boated 5 bass. two under 1lb, two just over 1lb and my biggest bass 2.5lbs. Crankbaits and dropshot got them today! Water temps 63 degrees, winds 5-7mph, sunny in the morning then turned to overcast throughout the day. Water Visibility was super clear. The spawn is just beginning, saw a few big, big females up super shallow, but wanted absolutely nothing to do with me.

thanks bud, I'm in the northeast area.
took my buddy out few weeks ago, good time! just a handful of 2 lbers.
haven't fished is about a month, been very busy. I finally made time to get out on the water for a few hours in the morning. I caught three bass, this being the largest of the morning. 3lbs 4oz.
joined my two buds out on the lake last week from 7pm-2am for the night bite! I caught my biggest walleye, a 3lb largemouth, a big fat football smallie! ugh, wish I had a weight on her. after the photo, she slipped out of my hands and into the water ? but she was between 3-3.5lbs, a 2lb largemouth, and finished the night with a 1lb largemouth that I didn't take a picture of.
