It's about time! NEW PB! (13lbs3oz) 2024

Fished with my tourny partner today and had a blast.
Started out with several missed fish. Including a fish near 8lbs lost at the boat, and another 2 fish around 5lbs both didn't get into the boat.
We were supposed to be off the water by 12:30 (noon), but decided to stay on for another hour or two, as we were on a decent bite, small 2lbers but on a fun bite none the less.
At 1:30, I was in the for the shock of a life time.
In March, I got my first double digit, 12lbs6oz, didn't think another DD would come so soon, especially not one BIGGER than 12-6.
28" length / 20" girth "Fish Calculator says 15.3", but this fish was only 13lbs3oz. Caught on a Dobyns 765 / Revo STX / My very own hand tied jig on my buddies hand poured heads. Nothing more satisfying then making a bait and sticking a big fish.
By the way, Fourbizz, where's my 2x4 that you promised me if I stuck another DD this year

Man ! Such a lunker on a jig N' Pig .... you accomplished my dream
Just a question, that behemoth seems to have pretty damaged fins.... especially the tail. It seems to be cut and the cut is pretty clean.
I'm pretty sure there is no longer bedding bass in faraway California.
Do you think this could be someone marking the fish he catches.
I'm asking that because some trophy hunters here in Europe do that on big carps, and pikes.
I do think it's pretty lame...... I hope nobody does that to your beautiful bass. That would be a pity.

My 12 and 13 are both on small baits. Go figure! I'll never stop throwing swimbaits, but there's a time and place for everything.
I'm planning on it. My birthday is in November I'll be turning 21, so I might ask for that as a gift from someone. I got the measurements which I didn't get on my 12, so I'm happy.
I'd love to get a replica of my 12 and 13, the 12 was an unofficial lake record and my first DD, and this fish is my first Teen fish!

Dude, come on. You know that when a fish that big eats a jig, it eats it! You caught that thing on a night crawler while catfishing. Then stuck one of your home made jigs in the corner of it's mouth for the pic. Which is fine with me, I'm just jealous as a SOB. Good job bro!

Thanks everyone, it's finally sinking in now, had some other issues that kept me from enjoying the sheer beauty of the fish the first few days, but now, it's settling in.
Honestly, the best feeling is that it was caught on a jig, I made. I encourage everyone to try tying jigs, making crankbaits, or even just modifying already existing baits. It brings another edge to fishing.

Matt, that's why I was so shocked to catch that girl. This is my first "real" summer, and the only thing I have heard from big bass guys was that big girls in the summer are tough to come by. Sticking that fish was an awesome shock.
