The description says "freshwater big game," but the website says it's saltwater... which is it and does it even matter?

Answer: Saltwater but I don’t see why you couldn’t use the reel for either one.

Are the frames for the 300 and 4000 the same size?

Answer: Yes they will fit

I surf fish. Can this handle being submerged in saltwater and dropped in sand?

I baught a 5000 and just got it in the mail today 5/10/2021, is anyone else missing a screw at the bottom of the reel handle housing?

How many yards of 65 lb braid?

Answer: I don't know. I just filled my 2000 with 165 yds of 15# braid. What size is your reel? My recommendation wou,would, be to: a. Contact the company customer service folks; or b. Build a small mono base and then just fill it up with your choice of line.

What are the differences between the 1000 and 2000? Just the spool size and drag? I bought a cadence ultralight rod but no reel foot seems to fit.

Answer: Overall the 1000 has a smaller body and spool and thus should have a smaller foot.

I had ordered the Cadence Stout-5000 Saltwater Spinning Reel and the Cadence Lux 7'0"-Medium Heavy-Fast-1 Piece spinning rod. The reel and rod feel great individually. Cant wait to try them out. The problem was, though, the seat of the reel was too wide to fit into the rod's reel seat. I contacted Cadence customer service. They were very responsive. They ended up sending not one, but two other reels that do fit on the rod.

Reel is smooth and solid construction. But it is not a 3000 size as described. Small line capacity. Compares to a 2000 series reel. Not 3000. I will keep them. But need to by truer 3000 sizes for my new supposedly matching rods.

MF : Line Lay is Terrible

I thought I'd give this thing a shot. Seems nice up front, nice materials and pretty smooth. But the line lay is awful. We'll see how it does on the water. I think you're better off getting a Daiwa Laguna LT at this price point. It's a bit cheaper, not "sealed' but smoother and high quality performance all around. If this one performs well, will update. But right now I cannot recommend this higher priced reel over a cheaper name brand.

Cadence finally made a salt water reel and im very impressed. I used their fresh water reel on some of my salt water pool but the spool was just small. I had very good luck with their fresh water reel I decided to try their salt water reel. I'm disappointed that I dont have enough free time at the moment to go fishing but when I do I'm sure it won't disappoint
