What line would be recommend for this reel with a 7wt 10’ rod? Fishing steelhead

Answer: Thank you for your interest in our fly fishing item. There's a few lines we can recommend. A weight forward floating line would be the most universal choice. However, if you plan on using indicators or a little bit of split shot you might consider the RIO Steelhead Indicator line. We'd be happy to discuss these options in more detail....please call us at 508-255-0455. Ext 116.

can it be switched from let to right

Answer: Yes it is possible to change the reel to suit left and right handed folks. Instructions are provided in the user guide.

Answer: Yes. It can be smooth and silent.

Answer: The reel comes with a well fitting protective case. I wouldnt call it a „carry case“ though..ie no straps, handles etc.

Answer: ASSUMING YOU MEAN 2200 SPOOL. I have a 2200 Sage Reel and needed an extra spool. Couldn't find one anywhere, so I called Sage and they told me that the Spectrum C Spool fits the Sage 2200 Reel. I ordered the Spectrum C

Received item used, powder coating on it chipped and with broken drag system... Same resistance throughout the settings - no resistance... Returning asap.

David : Great cost savings alternative to more expensive fly reels but not low end

I needed to upgrade my current 5wt fly fishing set up and needed to stay around $300 for the reel and pole. I wanted a Ross reel and and Sage pole but that wasn't cost feasible. Sage also makes really good reels but are pricey. Then came the Spectrum C. Sage's low end fly reel but still has the same breaking system as some of their higher priced models. This is the major reason I bought this reel...the drag system. The large Arbor reel is easy to switch from left to right handed retrieve and is light weight. I can say the drag is exceptional for the price. So much better than my old set up, very pleased with the purchase. Used this for bigger brooks and browns, smallmouth, a few unexpected pike and of course, the one that got away. A much larger king salmon than this reel was made for and I still had a sli/fair chance at landing the fish. I paired this with the Echo Carbon XL 9ft 5wt

I bought this sage spectrum c reel about 6 months ago and just put it with my fly fishing stuff once I open the box and looked at it briefly. However I noticed the reel was bent when I went to put my backing on. I went to North 40 outfitters because they have some and talk to them about it they said they’ve sent some of these back because they had spools that were bent they noticed this when they were putting backing on them. They were wobbling significantly as was mine. Either the spool or the inner components had issues. Fortunately Amazon had great customer service and gave me a replacement right away. So just take a good look at your arbor and spool when you guys order these and make sure everything is correct.
