cant go wrong with this bait casting reel from Quantum smooth casting and receiving great drag thumb release i like this reel so far it has been a great reel ive been using it for about 4 weeks now and haven't had any issues with it

After spending a few weekends with this reel, I would highly recommend spending just a bit more on a-

Abu Garcia Max-X / Daiwa Fuego / Shimano SLX

I promise you will have much more fun on the water learning with any of these.

The Invade isn't terrible... But it is lacking some quality and refinement impacts its performance.

Yoda OK : Smooth working reel

I got this for my son who is just starting to show interest in fishing in his late teen years. I wanted to get him a good reel, but didn't want to spend the big dollars for the decent ones. This reel is really nice. It works smoothly. It is a great reel for him to start with so he won't get too frustrated with a reel that doesn't work properly. I would put it up there with some of the pricier reels for function. Overall a nice reel that should keep him fishing for years to come.

Nice smooth reel. Would make a great first caster, it's smooth. Big handles make reeling easy, I'm very happy with it.

My husband used to fish a great deal, but I guess his vegetarian wife has put damper on that adventure for awhile(since I won't go with him). Our children are getting old enough to want to fish now, so he's had more motivation to fish again. This reel did well right out of the box and worked smoothly. It only backlashed on him the first cast, but since it'd been years since he'd used one, it was more of a practice round and not the reel's fault. He's been happy with it.

This reel is a very nice reel, heavy duty casting that is very smooth and nice. The gears appear to be very solid and smooth as well. The line does not backlash and works great

I wanted to get a baitcaster, and that's why I got this one. This reel is incredibly smooth and for the price, it's perfect! You can put a great amount of line on it and it matches up great to the typical 150 dollar bait casters. That being said, I'm pretty bad at the whole process.

I bird nested all my reel because I had some type of setting wrong and had to take out all of my line and re-spool. I was a little disappointed on that side, but it was completely my fault. Great product, just need to watch some youtube before I go out with it again!

The oversized handle knobs are helpful since he has larger hands; they are easy for him to grip and turn. This reel is superior to other brands he’s tried. Very satisfied!
