Answer: It wouldn’t hold up to the corrosive nature of salt water.

Answer: The 10 lb test that comes pre-spooled on just about all the light to medium reels (33 or 202) is actually tough if using a decent knot.Ive caught 5 lb cats to 12 lb Carp with Medium light Zebco reels.

Answer: You have to be patient. I did catch a 4 1/2 lb bass on it with the line that actually came on the reel.

What is the I.P.T

Answer: This reel is a piece of junk. I do not know what happened to zebco.

What are the inchs per turn of line on crank

Answer: This reel has 23 Inches per turn.

Does anyone have experience with putting 10-20lb braid on the 33 gold or the 33max gold?

Answer: I think you would be wasting your time. The spool size is very small. The drag even tightened down (at least on mine) would not be strong enough for that weight of line. I have 6 lb test on mine and fish pull drag virtually every time so you have to be patient but I like the reel. I have caught multiple 3-4 lb bass with it while crappie fishing though. Good reel but if you did get braid get the smallest braid they make. Not 10-12 lb test.

Answer: It's not recommended to add braid, but I put 10 lb fireline on mine and haven't had any issues to date.

Answer: It is generally not recommended to put braid on spincast reels. I wouldn't put it on spinning reels either. It is said to cut into/wear out the pickup pins over time. Braid, IMHO, should be used on baitcaster reels only.

Answer: All of our reels are made in China.

First things first, throw away the line that comes with the reel. It's okay enough but if you switch it for a "good" mono line then this reel becomes supernatural. I went with sunline 4# with a 2# Flouro Leader. THIS REEL IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH BRAIDED LINE! I typically throw "Joes flies" spinners with the treble hook cut off and they are LIGHT, this reel on my little 4'6" rod throws those little things a mile, it's really unbelievable. Perfect little river trout setup.

The line slips out when making a cast - the push-button mechanism does not retain the line well enough. Very disappointing for a young boy starting fishing.

I bought this reel for my husband for his birthday. After all the social distancing he was really looking forward to going out. He has owned several zebco reels in his life and has never had a problem. But when he tried to cast. The line just fell out of the reel and when he let go of the trigger, it grabbed the line. He couldn’t cast. He was really angry when he got home home from the first day so I hope when he calls the company they will fix the problem or refund the money. Very disappointing!

I ordered 2 for my daughter and wife. We went out panfishing and when they caught some sunnies, the drag was making noises. I thought it might have been set to low, so I go over and try to set it higher. Nope it was set at the highest. We sometimes go trout fishing and these reels will have a hard time bringing them in. I ended up returning them and getting some spinning reels and teaching them how to use it instead.

We have a bunch of rods and reels but none that are push-button. My child likes that action. This was perfect; we set it up on a repaired/ reclaimed rod and take it along canoeing and to the local pond. Nice color, looks grown up but good for small hands. Like it. Bought this one since it says it has metal gears and I figure it'll stand up to some use.
