Answer: On the reel their is a black rectangular button next to the shaft handle side. Push this, pull line housing out half way, while still on shaft the line will drop free spool. The chrome plated knob on the opposite handle is counter weight to allow balance fyi.

Well, not a drop inline reel. Have to hand feed or reel backwards to drop the line. Looks cool caught me some great fish. Not the best.
