Kylee : Straight out of the box, does not retrieve line or cast

Monkeying around for hours on this reel, cannot get it to cast or retrieve. Line does not catch inside the reel. Waste of money and time, lost a day of fishing on this reel. Serves me right for buying a lower end reel.

I'm not sure what's up with these guys' reviews lol I've been fishing all my life and have never owned/tried a spincast (at least I can't remember ever tried one) and this one is awesome I feel! I got it pre fishing on the way to the lake for my gx2 and I will admit that was a little awkward seeing as the gx2 isn't a spincast rod lol but anyways fished with it for 6 hours and not one issue and I was catching fish, big ol fatty trout on my 5'6" rod was a good day, and this reel made it that much more fun. No issues all day not one cast. Hope this helps! It is heavy as poop though!

Not worth it. When it's cast out, it won't reel in unless you pull the string tight from the reel. It's like it's not catching while there's some slack in the reel and it's every time. Not good when you have a bite. I've missed several fish because of this reel. I'm going to change the string in it and try it again but I'm pretty sure it's going to continue happening. I never had a reel do this before.

Dennis Martin : Not reliable when trying to retrieve line.

Reel wouldn't retrieve the line unless line was being held tight with hand. Also heavy for it's size.
